Review: This past year I attended my forty-fifth class reunion in Winston Salem NC. There was a great deal of communication back and forth and during this period there were two reservations made for the same dates - - one @ the Marriott and one at the hotel hosting the reunion activities. For convenience we stayed at the host hotel.Unaware of the double booking we did not cancel the second reservation. To our dismay, we were charged for both nights. As a member of the Marriott Rewards Program I have stayed at a number of the hotels under the Marriott umbrella and fully expected to do so again. To that end, I felt comfortable asking for an accommodation for the oversight.My request was denied in the form of an impersonal e: mail message from the Assistant Front Office Manager. Not only did I see this as the most deplorable of customer service, I was astonished that there was apparently no differentiation made between member and non-member.I have concluded that there is no real advantage to being counted as a member of the Marriott Rewards Program.Desired Settlement: As originally requested, I would like to receive a credit for the two-night stay. We visit family in Winston Salem every year. We also have future travel plans which could prompt our considering staying at a Marriott property.
