Coronado agreed to pay for specified materials, such as cabinets and floor tilesIf *** *** decided to choose more expensive materials, she was responsible for the amount of the material costs greater than the allowance amountsIf *** *** decided to pay suppliers directly for the entire cost of the specified materials, the allowance amounts were to be deducted from the original contract priceIf *** *** requested work beyond the work contracted for, she was responsible for the related charges by Winter-Coronado.*** *** purchased certain specified materials directly from suppliersWinter-Coronado deducted the allowance amounts for these materials, $38,500, from the contract price.*** *** routinely requested and agreed to additional work beyond the work contracted forThis additional work included: - Removing extensive excess concrete found during demolition of her garage- Repair the old plumbing in her basement bathroom- Building a metal structure for sheer walls- Adding a wet bar to her old basement, which required additional plumbing- Moving the main shutoff valve from its old location to her mechanical room- Installing a 12xsliding door in her master bedroom- Building a closet for the new HVAC unit in her garage- Repairing the ceiling in her guest room on the second floor- Modify her architect’s original drawing plan that missed the need to elevate beam in her living room/kitchen- Modifying the drawing plan to use 2x6s studs necessary to install requested higher grade insulation- Adding light and special outlets throughout her house- Purchasing siding, and then replacing that siding at her request, to side the entire house including the portion of the house not included in the contract- Painting/preparing the uncontracted portion of the house in order to install the siding- Assembling IKEA cabinets that she chose to purchase, which was excessively time-consuming and for which she decided not to pay IKEA for installation- Customizing and installing new baseboards and shoe-moldings necessary to install the IKEA closet cabinets that she choose to purchase and for which she decided not to pay IKEA for installation- Returning the extra IKEA cabinetry that she purchased, which required a 52-mile roundtrip- Power-washing her basement patio- Doing $1,of work that she requested for her condominium, which was not paid for.To determine the amount owed to Winter-Coronado, we subtracted the allowance amounts that *** *** did not use, i.e., $38,We then added the charges for the additional work that she requested or agreed to, i.e., $63,These additions and subtractions resulted in an adjusted price of $395,To date, *** *** has paid Winter-Coronado a total of $370,Winter-Coronado is due an additional $25,500.Winter-Coronado enjoyed a very good client relationship with *** *** until she suddenly became uncommunicative and would not allow us to complete the projectThis occurred soon after payment was requested for the above-listed additional workOur company has earned a very strong reputation based on decades of excellent work and friendly customer relationshipsOur reputation is very important to us as our business benefits greatly from referralsWe believe it’s our is superior craftsmanship and customer service that has allowed us to enjoy great relationships with our clients many years after their projects have been completed.We would like to complete the current project pursuant to the contract, which requires completion of minor “punch list” items and final inspectionHopefully, we can restore our customer relationship with *** *** and maintain it going forward.Thank for your attention and consideration.Sincerely,*** *** Winter Coronado Associates

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.  The firm has not contacted me despite sending them a registered letter and emails.I am filing a complaint with [redacted], which is the county in which the business is registered.
