Wintrust Mortgage has placed a late fee on my account when I called in about it I told them I was on my computer trying to pay the bill but there system locked me out because they set it to have my user & Password changed for security reasons I guess after entering the user & password that I setup in there system it didn't take & locked me out the only other way to pay is call in & speak to someone this is a company that just started the online payment method last year & that's the way I began making my payments before then I would always call in speak to someone to make payments. So the lady said theres a late I explained the above & that im not paying it the lady said ok no problem we can fix that I get this months bill & the late fee is still on the bill so I call them again about this matter spoke to another woman I told her that should've been taking care of she went to speak to someone else came back & said they cant remove fee because I was late in Aug 2019 & they waived the late fee back then I said that's BS I make all my payments online & there's no way I was late so anyway she said she didn't have the ability to remove fee but gave me an email to send my complaint to I did this its been 3 weeks now no contact from them last year I contacted them about my mortgage increase whoever I spoke to couldn't explain it so someone from the escrow dept was so supposed to contact me its almost a year later no contact from anyone you may said why didn't I call back just went ahead & made the payments I'm to busy to keep calling people just to have someone tell me someone else will call you or give's you an email that people don't respond to this company has horrible customer service & that's supposed to be #1 No Recommendations for this Mortgage company I believe that there system is making the payments late considering they just started there online process it hasn't been running a full year & just starting the automated phone pay don't know how long this company has been around stay away.

Since Wintrust Mortgage took over as my mortgage company in Oct 2018, my monthly statements are not being received in a timely matter so that can get my payment to them on time. Payments are due the first of each month and as of today - 4/29/19 I have not received my statement to make my May payment and from last months statement they have not yet paid my taxes which are now overdue.

In response to the above captioned complaint, we did reach out and speak to the customer and addressed her concerns. In summary, the customer’s monthly mortgage statements are generated automatically and mailed twelve days before the due date. We have nothing in our system showing that these statements were returned undeliverable. The property taxes have been timely paid.

In addition, we will be sending the customer a letter to address what is required in order to not have an escrow set-up with us, and for privacy concerns we are not including that detail in our response to you. In this letter, we will include a copy of the paid real estate taxes for her property.

Wintrust Mortgage refuses to take my payments by phone because only 1 person is designated to take payments. I called at least 6 times in 2 weeks and NEVER received a call back. I mailed in a double payment, yet the VA informed me I was late on 3 separate payments. This is FALSE, and NO ONE is able to help me at Wintrust. They just keep passing me off and stating they'll get back to me. If I were late on a payment, I'd have late fees, which I do not. Also, how can a company refuse payment and then report it as late? Apparently, no able bodied person is in their office after 5pm to take payments. Wintrust is the WORST mortgage company I've ever dealt with, and I was unfortunately sold off to them. They have damaged my credit, and I'm unable to refinance my VA loan due to their error. I'm a 69 yr old Senior and USMC, Vietnam veteran. This mortgage company is a scam, and they're taking advantage of my age. They have zero respect for my military service. I'm fed up with their games and the run-around - I will be seeking an attorney who deals with scamming businesses who take advantage of seniors and veterans. Enough!

In response to the above captioned complaint, this loan was part of a servicing transfer from *** to Wintrust Mortgage on September 15, 2018. We do believe that an error occurred with this transaction.

We have already spoken with the borrower on April 4, 2019 and feel that the issue has been resolved. Any fees charged in error have already been refunded and documentation has been sent to correct credit bureau reporting. Due to privacy concerns, we will be sending a letter directly to the borrower with a more detailed explanation of what transpired and the steps that were taken to correct any errors.

I am rejecting this response because: I continue to contact a new person with Wintrust Mortgage, Joanna ***, , and I continue to get a voicemail that states "I am in a meeting, please leave a message." I asked for this information to be sent to me in a letter, which I have not received.
