I am writing in response to the Complaint from Mr& Mrs*** against Coconis Furniture in regards to her Reclining Sofa from Ashley purchased on 11/14/Our records show that the customer received delivery on 12/4/On the same order was a dinette and a recliner for Mr***
days after Mr*** had his recliner, the customer called in regarding the seat sinkingWe went out to inspect the recliner and gave the customer full credit to reselect a new recliner even though it was out of our day happiness guarantee because he needed a heavier duty mechanism for supportJuly 24th, was the first time Mrs*** called about the cushions sinking in her sofaWe replaced cushion cores for customer on both sides of reclining sofaThe Customer called again on December 29th, to mention the cushions softening up againWe decided to add more sinuous wires at no charge for the customer to help provide more supportThis was completed January 8th, Mrs*** called back in on January 22th explaining that the reclining sofa was still not comfortable to her and she wanted to contact the manufacturer to see what they would doMark, our service manager explained to her that the cushions are retaining their shape and in order for them to be defective they would not have to retain shape and that is all manufacturer standardsWe replaced the cushions the first time without them being defective by manufacturer standard in order to satisfy the customerWe understand Mrs***’s frustration but what she is unhappy with is the comfort and we have serviced her reclining sofa and have always tried to accommodate herWe have never turned down her request for serviceWe have been to the home times without a service charge or redelivery charge of the 2nd recliner We also gave the customer full credit on a recliner that didn’t fit Mr*** after a month of breaking down a recliner because we felt it was in the customer’s best interestNow the customer is requesting that we refund her sofa, as we did with the recliner and refund her protection of $We explained that we couldn’t give her full credit for a sofa she has had since December and there are technically no defects with the reclining sofa, the customer just doesn’t like the comfort of itWe have since reached out to give customer option of the following:*33% Credit of reclining sofa + Tax = $+ Refund protection paid of $+ Tax = which we are doing even though we can’t get money back we paid for their protectionWe would notify protection company of this and it would void their protection plan on all itemsWe have already made and sent check to customer for this+ We would also let the customer keep the reclining sofa they are unhappy with so if they choose to sell it, that could help them put money towards upgrading to another reclining sofaCoconis Furniture feels comfortable with our offer of these three things combined along with service already offered to try and satisfy customerWe try, in most all cases, to work with our customers and many times go above our company and our manufacturer guidelines to provide a good service to our customerI have reached out to Mrs*** to explain the options myself and she stated she would talk it over with her husbandI think that if she chooses to reselect we could show her options of better quality and help the customer understand what makes each company different and try to educate the customer as to the better quality options we provide

Coconis Furniture has agreed to fix chair at no costWe are also offering a full refund on the extended warranty, if the consumer wishes, as there seems to be some confusion as to what the warranty coversSorry for the delay as I have been out of the office

I have been in contact with Mrs. [redacted] in reference to her issues. We understand her frustration and are trying to work a solution out with her and her husband regarding this. I am emailing them the credit info below and they are going to follow up and let us know when they can come in to look...

I do not want to purchase another sofa even with the credit I cannot afford to make another purchase. Please notify coconis to please send back the refund on the service contract and I understand this voids the warranty. I'm still very unhappy with the quality of the furniture we purchased. As I told them in our last conversations he said they would be able to guide us in purchasing a better quality sofa I just wish this would have been explained this in the beginning that the foam cushion would not hold up compared to something else of better quality. I never dreamed the comfort would not last longer than 6 months. I will expect the refund in the mail from the service contract then you can close this case because I do not want to deal with them any longer.
