Wisconsin Industrial Service & Equipment Reviews (2)

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
We reject his response to the Revdex.com.  He made several false statements to the Revdex.com.  Here is our position:1.  We asked him to seal our garage floor.2.  He recommended the epoxy covering.3.  He DID NOT state that this was for indoor use only.  We certainly would not have proceeded had we known that.4.  We DO keep the garage door closed.  The only time the garage is open is when we enter or exit with a car.5.  When we called about the yellowing the first time, he said he had never heard of that.  He said it must have been a problem with the chemicals.  He talked with his supplier and they decided it was a problem with the chemicals, which he referred to as "A&B."6.  I researched the product online after the yellowing occurred with the second application, which he assured us would not happen again.  I found the information about yellowing in the sun.7.  I made multiple attempts to handle this directly through him.  He said it must be a problem with the concrete and the only way to figure it out would be to take a core sample of concrete and have it tested.8.  He received the Revdex.com complaint.  He emailed me and asked for the website where I was getting the information about the sun.  I forwarded it to him, which he turned around and referenced in his Revdex.com response.9.  It needs to be made very clear that I am the one who found the information about the sun on the internet.  I am the one who told him we had a "checkerboard pattern" of yellowing as mentioned in the website.  I am the one who suggested the sun as a cause, which is why I described the position of our home in relation to the sun.10.  I have a long strings of emails I can provide to support our position and dispute the claims he made in his Revdex.com response. Please re-open the complaint with the above response.  We reject his response to the Revdex.com.  A guarantee or warranty may not have been provided, but we entered into this service agreement in good faith.  We thought the final product would look like the sample he showed us, which, needless to say, did not have a speck of yellowing.I appreciate the assistance of the Revdex.com.Regards,

Hi [redacted] this email is in response to [redacted]. To let you know, this is the first complaint...

that I have had to respond to. [redacted] called me a while back and ask to install an epoxy floor in his garage.  He appeared happy in the beginning and the floor turned out. The floor appeared normal as all floors in the past. Epoxy is strictly used for interior purposes and not meant for exterior use. Many contractors use it in residential garages and assume that the owners keep the garage doors closed. Most all epoxies are UV stable but any and all epoxies will yellow with time and light exposure. I cannot be responsible for how often or long a customer may let the sun's light or florescent light shine on the floor. When [redacted] called me the first time with this problem I responded by giving him the benefit of the doubt and completely recoated the floor with new products supplied by the manufacture and supplier. I didn't know if his discoloration  problem was product related or not. Recently [redacted] said that the sun in the afternoon shine into his garage from the west.  I have used this product for years with no issues. All epoxies will yellow, I cannot change the industries' chemistry. As explained by Sherwin Williams, "Discoloration from exposure to UV light (sunlight) is a surface phenomenon attributed to the natural darkening of epoxy resin upon exposure to UV or sunlight. This problem occurs most often in areas with intermittent sunlight, creating a "checkerboard" effect. The discoloration may be confirmed by scraping away the surface layer with a knife to expose the underlying film which is lighter in color.  This condition is out of my control. I cannot fore see all issues when presenting my services. My installation was done correctly and I have no control over how much sun or light exposure may happen. Any other contractor would have the same problem with [redacted]'s location. No warranty was ever offered or stated on the invoice or estimate. This complaint can only be settled by the manufactures of epoxy resins or coatings.  The only thing that I will do is grind off as much of the yellow as possible and apply a top coat of polyaspartic (a clear coat of high end urethane). Note that some yellow may remain and cannot be removed. This is the final offer and would have no warranty against discoloration or concrete failure.
Thank you,
[redacted]
