I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.  However, I would like to note that the various calls from me and other family members was not completely intentional.  This was my families very first time renting a camper after paying $210 for an electric campsite - so when we received news on Tuesday that we wouldn't have a camper to rent only two days later on Thursday - we did panic.  As I tried calling during breaks at work, my wife was calling from home as well as another family member from their home, completely unaware that the other was calling also.  We really just wanted to speak with someone.  We've never called a business before that didn't answer, have an answering machine with the business name on or return calls within a few hours ... that's when we got suspicious and called the police department just to verify that the business actually existed.  I never asked them to visit the property.  They tried calling the business also, and when their call wasn't answered either, they took it upon themselves to make a visit. We do regret the way things happened, but also want the business to understand the position we were in with two days notice and no camper to rent anywhere due to the various events all over the state that weekend!  Even though we were reimbursed the $300 down payment, we were essentially out the $210 campsite and all of our well laid out plans for sleeping, eating, etc. turned to absolute chaos and our one family vacation was extremely stressful.

I left a voice mail for the customer filing this complaint, as he was not available to answer my call at the time. I explained to the customer in the voice mail that the unit to be rented by them was heavily damaged, and I would not be able to rent it to them for their dates. This was on Tuesday,...

July 5, 2016. I was very apologetic! Since it is a busy time of the year for RV rentals from mid June through late August, and especially in July, I explained to the customer that I was not able to rent any other unit to them as they were rented.I told the customer that I would be sending their reservation/security deposit back in the mail the next day, and I did. The amount refunded to them via US Mail was $300.00 on Wednesday, 7/06. The business check number was 4012. The customer did call repeatedly from about 9am until 3pm on Wednesday, 7/06. Unfortunately, I was in back to back meetings all day, until about 4pm. When I am in meetings, I have my cell phone off. Not only did the customer call, but he had friends and family calling. I literally 31 phone calls from him in a 6 hour period, sometimes minutes apart. I have this in my cell phone records. Not only did he call repeatedly, he sent the Outagamie County Sheriff to my home/business, who was there when I got back to business/home. I explained to the officer the entire situation. I told her that I sent back their security deposit monies in the US Mail. She said this was fine, and I told her about all the calls, and she suggested a restraining order if the customer keep doing the same. She said that she would contact the customer, let him know that the money was returned, and that I didn't need to go any further with this.However, I still called the customer the next day (Thursday, 7/08) and he did not answer. I also emailed him, letting him know that his money was returned. This is not a fraudulent business, and I talked to the customer a few times in the past. Given that I am legitimate, I have many positive comments on my business through signed cards, please remove and close this complaint. Thanks! Please call me at ###-###-####.
