in full.  Since this was not an insurance claim, the amount paid did not count toward the yearly deductible, and because it was paid as a self-pay account, it is not possible to also bill the insurance, as that would be considered double-billing for the same procedure.  The parent did sign an acknowledgement that they were receiving a cash discount to pay this as opposed to filing with insurance.
