To Whom it May Concern:*** *** had a tour of our facility on 9/3/She was provided with prices and cost details associated with our facilityTwo hours after she left, she called and gave us a deposit of $1,to reserve her date of 3/25, She came in two week later and signed the
contract on 9-19-which is enclosedShe was informed on both the 5th and reminded on the 19th that the deposit of $1,to reserve the room is non refundable as outlined in the first line of the contract.Approximately one week later, the grandmother *** *** called requested her deposit be returned because they were not using our facility now for the weddingI reminded her that the deposit was non refundable and she was not happy with that answerShe then claimed that *** was only and not so she couldn't enter into a contractI told her that was the legal age to sign the contract. In addition, the day *** came into sign the contract she was accompanied by her fiancé *** and both of her parentsThe meeting went well and they were excited for the weddingI have heard nothing further from *** and I still have her on my schedule for 3/25, Not sure what transpired with the grandmother, but that is between those partiesEither way a deposit refund is not warranted in this case.Sincerely, Michael POwner

Subject: Complaint #[redacted]
To: [email protected]
To Who It may Concern:
I am in receipt of complaint #[redacted] filed by [redacted] of [redacted]...

[redacted], PA.   My name is [redacted] and I am sole owner of [redacted].  I just purchased the building located at [redacted] in January of 2014.  I am unaffiliated with Wisehaven Banquet and Expo.  This Company went out of business and lose its building in a sheriff's sale.
I have attached page one of [redacted] and [redacted]s contract.  Under room deposits and payments, line 16 specifically states "A cancellation will result in the forfeit of all monies given".  The contract is signed by [redacted].  Please let me explain.  When we book an event for a client, it is customary to require a non refundable deposit between $1,000 and $1,500.  We do this because once a date is reserved we can not give it out to anyone else.  The date **. [redacted] reserved was 6/28/14 and she made payments towards the event in the amount of $1,250.  Two other parties had inquired about that date and we had to turn them away.  If we gave refunds to everyone that cancelled we would be out of business.
This being said, to be fair, as a common business practice we can do the following.  If someone else books the cancelled date, we can refund monies back to the original party after the new event is held.  Even though we can do this, we are not required to do so by contract.  At this time no one else has reserved the 6/28/14 date for an event, and since it is so close, I don't expect that anyone will.  If the weekend of 6/28/14 passes with no activity, we will keep all monies deposited.
Thank you for your consideration in this complaint, and please update the records associated with Wisehaven Banquet and Expo.  We are not affiliated with them in any way, and I do not want their problems attached to our business. Thanks!!
Sincerely,
[redacted]
