Dear Sir, After speaking with my parts department I have been informed that the part that you were trying to bring back was not just opened but it was also used Once the item is used we are unable to return for refund I apologize for any confusion If you have any further questions please call Melissa D [redacted] our Customer Relationship Manager at 503-364- Thank you

BBB reference number [redacted] .Thank you for giving us the opportunity to investigate and respond to this concern. [redacted] first brought her 2012 Ram to us on the 16th of May with a complaint of a harsh engagement into drive and reverse and a harsh 1-2 upshift. We road tested the vehicle and were... unable to duplicate the harsh upshift, but did duplicate the harsh engagement. We inspected for loose suspension or mount components, axle or drive line concerns. All checked out ok. The next step in repairs would be to remove the transmission pan and check for metal in the pan. We did that and the pan was clean of debris. We contacted Chrysler technical assistance, they recommended replacing the transmission fluid and filter and then drive the vehicle to see if the problem was resolved. [redacted] ’s extended service contract does cover this as it is considered a maintenance service. [redacted] returned on the 14th of June with the same concern. We spoke to her and her husband on multiple occasions about the concern on the vehicle and the process needed determine a cause for the harsh engagement. We updated [redacted] and her husband through the entire process about time and costs involve to repair her vehicle. Her concern was particularly difficult to diagnose, but proper repair procedures were used to provide the best and most efficient repairs needed. Fortunately we were able to work with [redacted] ’s extended service contract to help mitigate much of the $2330.85 cost of repairs of which she only had to pay $629.35 of (including fuel charges for a loaner vehicle) I understand [redacted] ’s concern; however repairing a vehicle is a process which at times requires many hours of tests and checks. We have to do these tests in a linear fashion. Although it may seem that we are checking items that ultimately may be fine, if these items aren’t tested our future test results would be useless without them. Our tests were conducted with Chrysler repair manuals and Chrysler technical assistance to ensure all steps were needed and conducted correctly. Kind Regards-Matt T [redacted]

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because: number one yes I was notified about how it took time and hours to completly find out what was wrong but the first time I paid for a diagnostic fee it should have been PROPERLY diagnosed! I shouldn't have to pay twice for your time to give me the wrong answer the first time, and I will tell you that the vehicle does NOT engage hard anymore so whatever you did worked and it was fixed the second time, leading me to believe that the first time you were wrong! Why am I paying diagnostic twice because you didn't get it diagnosed the first time? I asked this question in your office and was told "technically you didn't bring it for the same issue because both times something was different." That is the smallest response I think I have ever gottenI'm not trying to penny pinch because I am thankful it was fixed but your responses and the way the lady in your office said that you guys only said the pressure was off to get the insurance/warranty to cover this 2,000+ job makes me feel a littleUneasy about what I was charged. Sincerely,*** ***
