Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I did not agree with the response by USSAM Storage The assumptions that were made are completely incorrectAs I had said in my complaint I had just gotten marriedYes my last name and address were different on the check because we had not joined our accounts together yet and I had not changed my name legally on my drivers license or social security number When we moved into our new home we realize that we didn't need the storage and that is why it was just a few days later I wrote a notice to let USSAM storage know we did not need the unitOur lease is dated September 4th and I gave a day notice on September 15thI did write a day written notice that is required to terminate the rental agreement Since we never entered the unit it was left in the condition in which we rented itPer the lease agreement there should have been a walk through and the manager never did so All I ask for was that the $security deposit be refunded as per the lease I did ask in my day notice if there would be a refund or if I would receive my deposit back*** did give the deposit backAs I said in my complaint my check did bounceI took full responsibility for that I am just asking *** to take responsibility for behaving the way she did towards me, my husband and my neighbor*** was very much out of control and my neighbor witnessed her behaviorMy compliant was about how *** *** was acting and being a bully and abusive I still want a *** to make apologies to me my husband and my neighbor for her behavior As far as me being up at the top of the stairsI was in my nightgown ready for bedI don't know anyone here in Wisconsin so I was not going to go down to the door in my nightgown Besides like I said in my complaint I was shocked that someone would come to my door behaving the way *** did, there is no way even if I was dressed that I would be at the door taking on that type of abuse I will not agree to anything by *** Meinel unless it is the apologies that I asked for
Regards,

I’m in receipt of your letter dated November 16, 2015 and agree that [redacted] presents one side of the story but with a lot more drama than actually occurred. [redacted] had rented a storage unit from us and paid with a check in the name of Avens.  She was provided a copy of our contract that she...

signed and a security password for our facility that allowed her 24 hour access to our facility.  Her contract was to be a minimum of 1 month and listed specific requirements such as required notices for terminating the contract and moving out. Approximately two days later she contacted me and requested to cancel the lease agreement and asked for a refund and security deposit return.  Although she did not meet the contractual requirements for any refund and certainly didn’t provide the required notice to cancel the lease, I did refund the security deposit and issued her a check.  A short time later it became clear that her request for the refund was an effort to obtain money from us for her check that was returned to us for non-sufficient funds. Although I followed up with her NSF check after it was presented to her bank the second time, her bank would not accept the check for payment.  I made phone calls and left massages, and even sent an e-mail but all were ignored.  She did not return the messages or even leave a message on our answering machine.   There was a different address printed on the check compared to the address given on the contract so I thought I’d stop by the closest one to see which was correct should I need to begin legal action.  The tenant’s husband answered the door and I asked for the tenant.  She was there, and peeked over the upstairs railing to talk to me.  Difficult as it was to talk to someone up a half flight of stairs, I stated who I was and that her check paid to my business had bounced.  She said she got paid on Friday and would stop at the business to pay up for the bad check. Customer did not show up on Friday as promised.  The following week or two I stopped by her house again to make financial arrangements.  Although it was clear to me that they were both home, she refused to answer the door to discuss repayment. In the next couple of days I received a letter from the tenant stating that she was forced to use an out of date checking account to pay because we were not set up to process credit and debit cards.  Customer also set up a repayment plan to send one-fourth of the amount owed every other week to be completed over the next 8 weeks.  So far 2 of the 4 payments have been received.  The rental agreement she signed states a charge for returned checks, but if the payments are received as promised I will rescind the charge. Sincerely, [redacted] at USSAM Self Storage
