In I purchased the Mometrix guide: Praxis II Special Education: Preschool/Early Childhood (0690) Exam Secrets study guide I used it to study for the Praxis II test that year, and was appalled at the lack of information for early childhood and for special education A huge portion was spent on "adolescent" students and teacher prep for those ages It even mentions reading Aristotle, Stephen King, and Shakespeare, all of course not early childhood literature (even at the 3rd grade level, which is the upper end of EC) Also, there is just a tiny bit of cursory coverage of child development, and not much coverage of special education- disabilities (other than learning disabilities and speech/language disabilities), and only a broad paragraph given to IDEA and IEPs, the only legislation mentioned For whatever reason, at the time I did not take the time or opportunity to complain to Mometrix I pulled the guide out yesterday to study for a similar exam, and was so baffled and appalled that I decided I needed to complain to them And then fortunately I spotted this site DO NOT PURCHASE MATERIALS FROM MOMETRIX AS YOU CAN'T TRUST THE CONTENT

Hello I am a registered nurse with a masters degree in psychiatric nursingMy career was going well until I was informed that I had to pass a certification exam to continue my career and job at an establishment which I had been employed for over yearsI took the Psychiatric Mental Health CNS exam several times without successI then purchased some Psychiatric Nurse CNS Flash Cards from Mometrix in hopes that I could pass the exam with the use of these cardsI was made aware of a guarantee that if the purchaser of these Flash Cards failed the exam that the purchase price would be refunded As per Mometrix , I had purchased flash cards on 12/2/and the warranty was apparently for yearThe issue I have with this warranty is that since I purchased these cards on 12/, I took the test on October 31,and unfortunately failed the test(This failure cost me a position which I had held for years as passing that test was necessary to retain my job) My main point h

I bought a visual art test review for the NYSCST I have an art background so I promise you the person who wrote this knew NOTHING about visual artsBlatant errors of fact, grammatical errors, and mislabeled artworks I wrote them a page letter listing a SMALL FRACTION of the errors in this book and they said they would refund meLong story short, I got my money back through walmart on behalf of the company (the customer service rep got their voicemail and just decided I had suffered enough and refunded me) But don't waste your money as this company is clearly a scam My favorite error is a section entitled "Principles and Elements of Art Design" under which the 1st listing is "Giclee print." Anyone who knows anything about visual arts just got a laugh

Hello
I am a registered nurse with a masters degree in psychiatric nursingMy career was going well until I was informed that I had to pass a certification exam to continue my career and job at an establishment which I had been employed for over yearsI took the Psychiatric Mental Health CNS exam several times without successI then purchased some Psychiatric Nurse CNS Flash Cards from Mometrix in hopes that I could pass the exam with the use of these cardsI was made aware of a guarantee that if the purchaser of these Flash Cards failed the exam that the purchase price would be refunded
As per Mometrix , I had purchased flash cards on 12/2/and the warranty was apparently for yearThe issue I have with this warranty is that since I purchased these cards on 12/, I took the test on October 31,and unfortunately failed the test(This failure cost me a position which I had held for years as passing that test was necessary to retain my job)

DO NOT PURCHASE MATERIALS FROM MOMETRIX AS YOU CAN'T TRUST THE CONTENT

I bought FTCE Business Education 6-Product: FTCEBusinessEdFlash- to find out that the material is totally obsolete - 10-years old-There are no versions information printed and the only current print is Copyright 2016, which is not telling nothing but protection to not be reproducedI reviewed the material against an exact copy from years ago and it is exactly the sameIt is a wasting money!

This test prep publishing company sells various books with amazing review on their page and even a Revdex.com A+ rating THIS CAN'T BE POSSIBLE The book I bought was for the New York State School Building Leader exam (107/108)The book provided pages on theory that doesn't even specifically apply to NY They offered only examples of the performance task that is the main part and hardest part of the exam Even with the examples they offer, they is no model answer or explanation about how to answer it There is even an entire section of the exam that is not even mentioned in their book It is about the lesson observation video No video, no rubric, no link to video, no test prep on how to do well on that section, NOTHING!!! The exam was updated years ago It is my opinion that this book hasn't been updated in years There advertisment guarantees that you will pass the test HOW, IF A MAJOR SECTION IS MISSING AND NOW EXPLANATION ON HOW TO ANSWER!!! I spent weeks reading thr

I purchased the Elementary PLACE exam review bookIt was very dense, and not particularly well-written.However, I plugged into the "bonus" review test right awayIt was a surpriseThe book covered allmost most none of the pedagogy needed for teaching readingSome of it was completely inappropriate for elementary school teachersThere were questions about middle school ELA, reading, science and calculus - and nothing about geometryThere was even a question about *where* a certain element was located on the Periodic Table! I complained to the company directly: they admitted they were in the wrong, but there was nothing they could do - even though this is their job to know what is current!!! So disappointedFuture teachers - review your notes, be familiar with the standard expectations for your state and take lots of free online quizzes aimed at 6th gradersI appreciated their polite manners, but it seems as if they wanted to panic people into buying more study materials! Not happy

I bought a visual art test review for the NYSCST I have an art background so I promise you the person who wrote this knew NOTHING about visual artsBlatant errors of fact, grammatical errors, and mislabeled artworks I wrote them a page letter listing a SMALL FRACTION of the errors in this book and they said they would refund meLong story short, I got my money back through walmart on behalf of the company (the customer service rep got their voicemail and just decided I had suffered enough and refunded me) But don't waste your money as this company is clearly a scam My favorite error is a section entitled "Principles and Elements of Art Design" under which the 1st listing is "Giclee print." Totally disappointed with my purchaseIt was nothing what I expectedNot helpful what so everA waste of my money and I hope to complain and get a full refund backI should of reviewed all the comments and reviews BEFORE I purchased the Secrets to the Social Work/Bachelor ExamI may also need to inform my peers who might consider this book and find it to also be a regret of purchasing, "Lesson learned." Next time (REVIEW ALL COMMENTS AND REVIEWS) BEFORE!!

Mometrix products left me woefully unprepared for my Pennsylvania PECTWhere me gave me flashcards with extensive information on math, reading, and English language arts, the test content was actually on pedagogy, teaching strategies for math and science, standards, and how to run a Pre-K classroomDid those who created the flashcards even bother to acquire a cursory knowledge of the PECT content? I don't see how that is possibleIn all honesty, I was suspicious that the content went in-depth for math, ELA and reading, and had no emphasis on pedagogyThis test is for teaching Pre-K through 4th gradeA deep understanding of subject matter is not the emphasisThe only useful study materials that I possessed was a study guide that I created for myself on pedagogyThat gave me success in module Modules and 3, however, I failedI not only wasted money on their product, but I wasted money on the ever-expensive Pearson tests, for which, I was completely unpreparedI also wasted the other kind of money: timeI spent countless man-hours studying content which wasn't even on the testIn the future, I will tell my friends and colleagues to avoid your products at all costsMometrix products are a hazard to educators' pocketbooks and professional licenses

I purchased the FTCE Computer Science K-exam prep book Do not buy this bookIt is a fraud
Here's the official FTCE competency breakdown:
Computational Thinking and Problem Solving - 15%
Data Types and Structures - 15%
Programming Logic - 20%
Programming Languages - 20%
Computer Hardware, Software, and Networking - 10%
Historical Aspects and Social Issues - 10%
Pedagogy - 10%
Here's the breakdown of pages in this study guide
Generic test-taking tips - pages
Problem Solving and Algorithms - pages
Data Types and Structures - pages
Computer Programming - pages
Computer Hardware - pages
Computer Software - pages
Computer Networking - pages
Social Issues - pages
Historical Issues - pages
Practice test - pages
Leaving aside the generic information (which is pretty much useless), hardware/software/networking which comprises 10% of the exam gets pages (44% of the expository material), social/historical gets pages (8%), and pedagogy (and remember this is a TEACHER certification exam) gets 0! Programming, which comprises 40% of the exam, gets 14% of the exposition
On page 59, in discussing client/server, the book says "this is an important distinction when taking the CLEP examination." That's great if I were taking the CLEP exam, but I'm taking the FTCE examClearly, this is repurposed text that may or may not be relevant to meIf this were a $10-$book, maybe that would be ok, but this is a $book that is marketed as specific to the FTCE exam
The bonus materials consist of things that are already in the book (e.g., the practice test) or ridiculous 3-page articles on topics like (how to prepare for a special activity) that are clearly provided to all the teacher prep customers, whether the articles are relevant or not
