To whom it may concern,
I am writing today in response to a complaint made by *** *** on 2-24-(complaint # ***) Mr*** purchase a f-Liter Diesel with from us on 2-15- After he negotiated with us we settled on a
price of $ Mr*** was coming from Washington to Colorado to pick up the truck so he wanted us to go through it and make sure it was in good shape Because of the price we negotiated we told him that we would do that but that if anything needed to be fixed he would need to pay for itAll used vehicles come with an as is no warranty unless they are covered still by a manufacturer warranty Since this one had miles on it there was no warranty Because of that and the fact that he was paying for the work why would we not go through it Craig Wright our salesperson told him that it would cost him $for a glow plug module After our shop fixed that we still had time before he was to arrive after test driving it we found a few more things wrong which we fixed and did not charge to Mr*** I have attached the bill for the things we fixed on the truck prior to his arrival I have also attached the statement showing he paid for the glow plugs as well as the floor mats he purchased Mr*** stated himself that the vehicle drove fine until he hooked it up to a 15,lb5th wheel trailer Our mechanics road tested the vehicle without pulling a 15,lbtrailer (as would any other ford dealer in the country) The vehicle drove fine and we fixed the things that were wrong at that time In fact Mr*** drove the vehicle from Northeastern Colorado to Albuquerque NM over the Rocky Mountains without issue It was not until HE hooked it to a large 5th trailer that he had issues
When Mr*** arrived at the dealership I asked him what he was planning on doing with a 200,mile year old liter diesel truckWhen he told me he planned to drive it half way across the country and hook up a 5th wheel camper to it I asked him if he was sure ( 6.0Liter ford engines are know for having a few issues when hooked to heavy loads) He told myself and the salesperson that he had been on many blogs and that if you just do a few things to the engine that it would be ok He was not worried about he also said that he had a friend in Washington that he was planning on spending some money with to fix up the truck so that he could keep it for a long time Mr*** is not taking any responsibility for buying a $10,000, 212,mile vehicle to go 1/way across the country pulling a 15,lbtrailer
In an attempt to resolve the issue we offered him the following all of which he declined
Sell him a Ford factory replacement engine for $under our cost
He could trade the vehicle for a truck on our lot
These options are still open but we feel we have gone above and beyond considering he purchased a 212,mile vehicle as is I have included a copy of the sticker as well as the buyer's order which also states vehicles are purchased As-Is

I spoke with Mr. [redacted] today and we are going to give him the $1000 towards the purchase of the engine once the vehicle is fixed as he is buying and engine from elsewhere.

Unfortunately, your emails got spam filtered (I just checked and found one of them).
Whatever you did must have done something, because I just got off the phone with Mr. Cochran and he agreed to reimburse me for $1,000 after the truck is fixed.  So I don't have the money yet, but he has made a promise.
It will take several weeks at this point to fix the truck, so I won't be able to tell how the story ended until it's done and Wolf Auto has either paid or not paid.
Thank you again for your help,

Hello,
I filed a complaint against Wolf Auto in Sterling CO.
In the response to that complaint, Mr Cochran replied:
In an attempt to resolve the issue we offered him the following all of which he declined.

1.  Sell him a Ford factory replacement engine for $1000 under our cost
2.  He could trade the vehicle for a truck on our lot.

These options are still open but we feel we have gone above and beyond considering he purchased a 212,000 mile vehicle as is.
---------------------
The Revdex.com response was:
Revdex.com's Final Determination: Business offered a resolution. Consumer did not pursue further with Revdex.com and the matter was assumed to be resolved
-----------------------
I didn't know that I needed to do more with the Revdex.com after filing the original complaint.  I was never contacted by your office after filing.  The matter has not been resolved.  I would love to take the offer from Wolf Auto (since it was I who made these suggestions, not them), but they do return my phone calls.
If there's anything you can do to help, I would really appreciate it.  I have lost a great deal of time and money thanks to the unethical practices of this dealership.  Because I let my guard down, It appears that I have no legal recourse, to be wholly restored, but if they are going to take me up on my suggestions to reimburse me for any amount on a $12,000 engine, even if it's only for $1,000, I'll take it.  It's better than nothing.
The truck is still sitting at the shop in New Mexico and they are now calling me wanting to know what I'm going to do with the truck.  We're coming up on 2 months of sitting there, so I don't blame them.  Please help if you can.
Thank you,
-[redacted]

This is the worst place to go to the salesman try to force you into a new vehicle even after you tell them no. Then after you find out there prices are above and behind every other dealer and you purchase a new vehicle from a different dealer they refuse to do warranty work on it.

I am pleased to document complaint #[redacted] re: [redacted] Auto in [redacted], Colo. has been courtesly resolved by [redacted], his salesman [redacted] and sales staff. Mister [redacted] invited me to speak to his sales manager as to the return of the 2004 [redacted]. A favorable return price was established and I was introduced to a newer much more road-worthy vehicle. With a down payment my monthly payment is only slightly higher than what I have paid this past year on the [redacted]. I was very pleased with the opportunity to have this issue resolved.
