I would like to advise you that we have reached an agreement with Mr [redacted] ***He called and said that after the weather had warmed up a bit the bees looked better and was willing to settle for a partial refund of $and I agreed to that amountI told him that I was not happy either about the fact that the cold spring we had, made the bees expand much slower than they should have Sincerely [redacted] ***

I have been hauling bees for twenty five years, it was cold when I hauled this loadThere is no way the bees could had gotten overheatedThe bees were in excellent shapeI am a pretty easy going guy and if he would
have asked to have the two packages cut apart I would have as I have done this many times for other peopleI carry a small saw for this purposeHe said he called after a few days but on the report it was actually days laterHe said I was busy handing out package bees and that I was unsure if I would have any extras for saleThe package bees had all been handed out days before he called, so I certainly did not have any bees to sell him if he had asked like he said he didHe did not ask to buy another packageI had explained to him when the bees are put in the package there are at least 1/pounds of beesThe extra plus bees are put in the package to cover any bees that might die on the tripI tried to explain this to our customer
I am always concerned when someone’s bees die, so I ask a lot of questions to try and find out why this happenedAfter several questions I found that he was using a top feeder that works great in warm weather but not very well in coldJust to explain about the feeder in question, bees will cluster around the queen in cold weatherThe worker bees cannot move very far from the cluster or they will get chilled and dieA top feeder requires the worker bee to crawl away from the cluster and climb the side of the feeder to retrieve the syrupBees have been known to starve to death with honey only a few inches awayThe workers will not leave the queenIn our cold climate the only feeder that works is one that you can put small holes in and put holes down over the hole on the inner coverThis allows the bees to cluster right under the feederHe is not the only person who has lost bees by using the wrong feederIt makes me very upset that the places and catalogs that sell bee equipment do not make any notation about weather conditions that their feeders will not work inI will be willing to give him an adjustment if he thinks there were more than bees on the bottom of his cage.
I made four trips this year for package beesAll shipments were completely sold out before I went to pick them up.
Sincerely,

I would like to advise you that we have reached an agreement
with Mr. [redacted]. He called and said that after the weather had warmed up a
bit the bees looked better and was willing to settle for a partial refund of
$60.00 and I agreed to that amount. I told him that I was...

not happy either
about the fact that the cold spring we had, made the bees expand much slower
than they should have.
Sincerely
[redacted]
