Wolfe Clinic advertises a free Lasek eye exam consultation to see if a person is a candidate for Lasik Surgery. I set up an apt. and had my exam. Before the exam they have you sign a form that indicates if they have to perform special eye exams that there maybe a charge. I understood and signed the form. During my exam they tested me to see if I would be a candidate for Lasek. At no time during the exam did they indicate any test they were doing was beyond the normal exam for Lasik. At the end of the exam they determined I was not a candidate and sent me on my way. Several weeks later I received a bill for $425. When I called them to indicate my exam was free as advertised the first person I contacted said they would have a supervisor call me which was never done, the second time I called the gal indicated it was a coding error and someone would call and never did, finally the third time I called and told them my issues and that I was not going to pay this bill as this was a free exam and at no time did anyone at the clinic location indicate they were performing any test on my eyes that was out of the ordinary. It is my believe that anyone that is not a candidate receives a bill from them since they will not get to charge for the lasik and they state that the customer signed their form.

Mr. was indeed seen for a LASIK screening. A computer error caused the coding to bill a portion to Mr. incorrectly. While this has nothing to do with the Hiawatha office as it is all handled in our corporate office, I have contacted them to be appraised of the current situation with Mr. Doonans account.
Mr. was apparently spoken to on several occasions and instructed that this was not a bill he would be required to pay. The error has been corrected as of February 1, 2020 I have been told and I currently see no balance due for Mr..
