The service manager has been in contact with the customer, Wolff did not leave a panel off the upstairs unit we believe the 2nd company out had done this to make the unit work.  THe service manager has an appointment at the customers home on 12/11.

We have been in contact with Mr. [redacted] over the last few months.  We understand his concerns and we are taking action to resolve them.

Wolff Mechanical came out today to rectify a problem with my A/C unit. It was an error with the installation that Wolff fixed without any charge. I appreciate their timely help and professionalism. I would highly recommend this company to anyone.

Thank you Dave and Brandon!

We recently had our heat pump replaced by Wolffe Mechanical. They were prompt; their technicians were very prompt and efficient. They followed thru with a complete explanation of new equipment plus how to operate the new thermostat. We have been a customer of theirs since 1994 and excellence of service is one of the many reasons we have continued with them through these many years. It is good to know you can count of someone for consistent quality of products and service.

I have used Wolff Mechanical for years now they always do what they say. I remember one year I thought my AC was going bad and they just cleaned it up put a little AC in it and said you're good to go. They did not try and sell me something I did not need. I have been meaning to tell others about this great company and hope my voice is heard here loud and clear. Thank You again Wolff for taking care of me and my family.

Review: Wolff Mechanical replaced our heating and AC units when our original AC unit compressor went bad in September of 2012. We were promised a much more energy efficient system because we went from a SEER of 13 on the old system up to a SEER of 14 on the new unit. Because of the mild winter, no issues were noticed until late in the summer of 2013. I noticed that the AC unit was running a lot to keep the house cool and that the electric usage was going up instead of down. I called the company to schedule the annual maintenance on the system in September of 2014. The company was adamant that I needed to purchase an annual maintenance agreement from them at a cost of over $200 to have them come out two times a year to check out my system. I instead called a certified, local HVAC company to check out our system and voiced my concerns about the unit running constantly (approximately November). The local company technician stated that there wasn't enough air flow through the system. He contacted his company's new HVAC installation expert with the model information on our units to make sure the units were a matched system. According to the technician, the air handling unit was under-sized for our application. I then called Wolff Mechanical again to request a technician come out and to verify the information that I had just been given. By the time they came out, it was late November and starting to cool down. The technician from Wolff checked some things, provided me with some documents that said the HVAC units were "matched", and said that the weather was too cool to troubleshoot my concerns any further. He told me to call them back when it started to get hot. Around late May of 2014, I set up another appointment with Wolff Mechanical to investigate my concerns with the system. They sent out their number one troubleshooting technician to investigate. The technician measured air flow in each room and adjusted the dampers as best he could, but came to the conclusion that the air handler was too small for my house. He told me that there are three different sized air handling units that"match" up with my AC unit and that Wolff had installed the smallest unit. He stated that a unit with a higher CFM rating would be needed to fix the issue. He said that he would pass the information on to his manager and that someone would contact me in the next week or two. Three or four weeks later (July), I called Wolff Mechanical to find out what was going to be done to fix my system. The installation manager said that he would need to come out with the technician to look at the problem himself with a technician. Two weeks later they came out and looked at everything again, coming to the same conclusion that there was not enough air flow. The manager said that they would need to go back to the office and come up with a plan that would fix the problem. After no contact for 4 weeks (August), I called them to find out what they were going to do. The installation manager told me that he needed to discuss the issue with the owner to come up with a solution and that he would contact me in a few weeks. Having not received a call by early October, I called again. The installation manager told me that the information was sitting on his desk and that they were still formulating a plan to fix my problem.

It has been 2 years and 3 months since installation and the only thing that has been accomplished is that my electric bill has gone up $40 a month (I am on equalizer payments). Since it is a gas furnace and nothing else has changed in my house, I attribute the increase to the new AC unit installed because it runs all of the time. I would like the system fixed right, not just what is easiest. I shouldn't have to pay over $10,000 for a system that is less efficient than the one it replaced.Desired Settlement: Replace the air handling unit with the properly sized unit to get the correct air flow in the entire house, at no cost to me. They should throw in a life-time maintenance contract on the HVAC system for all of the trouble they have caused me and for the increased electrical bills.

I was referred to Wolff Mechanical by SRP to take advantage of the air duct testing and repair rebate. The appointment was set for late in the afternoon with Wolff understanding that I work until 3:30pm and would call after 3:30 to advise of arrival. The tech called at 3 pm that he'd be there within 15 minutes. After I explained my situation, he waited to meet me. The air duct testing was faster than I thought. I was advised that the repair would take 4 hours to be completed and would be given a call the following day for scheduling. That was a Tuesday, Wednesday came and went with no phone call. Thursday was a holiday; waited until Friday and called. Was advised that their paperwork shows complete so no further action needed. Explained that there were recommendations to fix the air duct that I'd like done. The lady advised that the manager will call me either Sunday or Monday the latest to get this scheduled. Well needless to say, no one never called. I again placed another call asking for a manager or owner to call for a resolution. Needless to say, I've received phone calls from tech's and appointment setters trying to resolve it however no manager! I'm pretty sure that no one wants to resolve the situation or help! I called SRP to form a complaint. All they want is it in writing to give the business 30 days to resolve it! I would just like me air duct fixed in a reasonable time frame that I don't have to keep them on track!

Letter sent to Wolff Mechanical:
Our roof mounted heat pump starting making a loud hissing or screeching type sound Saturday morning, so I immediately turned the unit off and contacted your office for a service call. I was happy to see your technician, Dexter, at our door within an hour after the call. I explained the symptoms to him, and recommended he get on the roof before I turned the unit back on, and he agreed. As soon as I turned the unit on, it started making the noise, and Dexter removed power at the disconnect on the side of the unit. He came down off the roof, explained the blower unit and motor was bad, and he would need some time to work up an estimate. When he came to the door 10 minutes or so later, he started in with the fact that the unit is 19 years old, and we should consider replacement, and repair at this point would be $1200+ to fix the blower unit and motor. Additionally, as luck would have it, the necessary parts were not available, would need to be ordered from [redacted], and the parts would not be available until Monday or Tuesday. He was leaving us with no air conditioning for three days! At that point, he recommended he call the sales person to come price out a new system to get things moving faster come Monday, should we decide to replace the unit. The sales person on call was not available, so we postponed. I was charged your standard $89 service fee, + $1 to be upgraded to, as it was explained, Wolff Service. I was told the estimate and the receipt would be provided in email. The receipt was, BUT THE ESTIMATE WAS NOT, AND NO HARD COPY WAS LEFT WITH ME.
I immediately called another company, and they also had their technician arrive promptly, considering it was a Saturday. After he spent about 20 minutes on the roof he said the unit was fixed! He found the squirrel cage came loose from the motor shaft, and that it just needed to be put back in place, and a set screw re-tightened. I had told him of Dexter’s visit, and he informed me that there was no evidence that any of the panels on the unit had been removed before his arrival. Dexter never even looked at our system!! It appears that our $90 was to pay for his psychic abilities, as he was able to trouble shoot without even removing the panels.
So from my perspective, Dexter lied to us, gave us an outrageous quote, and tried to sway us into replacing our unit instead of repairing the problem. He was going to leave us with no A/C for three days in the hot summer heat, giving me no choice but to move my wife and dog into a hotel for the duration until repairs and/or a replacement could be done. He played upon the fact that our system is 19 years old, so who would question the logic that it’s probably time to get a new unit?! I feel that Dexter saw us as an easy target. What bothers me the most, is that he smiled the whole time he lied to us and tried to swindle us! I will not be recommending your service to any of my coworkers at [redacted].
A very disgruntled customer,

Review: On Oct 28th 2013 I was to have a checkup to my Heat Pump performed by Wolff Mechanical. The tech arrived and Did his first inspection up in the attic air handler room. He then came down and went to the outside unit with me. He showed me it was cycling on and off as it was going over pressure. he told me he suspected the indoor txv valve to be bad. He then showed me the system appeared to be overcharged and took what he described to be 6-10 pounds of R410A out of my unit. He collected it into one of his tanks and took it with him. He closed up the outside unit then up into the attic again to finish up there. He left me a quote for $1242 to replace the indoor txv. I called another trusted vendor the next day and had them to a double check of this problem because I had already had a inspection of my unit the month prior by them. They listened to my concern and decided that if they evacuated the system and weighed in the proper charge. The system will either be ok or not. Well it was ok and they explained that the txv issue was most probably caused by the Wolff tech leaving the indoor unit door off while serviced the outside unit. No air across the indoor coil. I Paid $926.71 to get my system recharged. No new txv needed. The Wolff tech created the issue. I had to get it double checked only because I had already had the unit checked recently before this issue. I have tried many times to talk with the Service manager there at Wolff. The promise of him calling me has not been fulfilled. So this is my only recourse.Desired Settlement: 18lbs of R410A $926.71 including tax.
