Wolf's Ridge Brewing Reviews (%countItem)

My husband planned a surprise birthday party for me at Wolf's Ridge after seeing this restaurant advertised during restaurant week on TV. When he made reservations, he spoke with Corey who is the *** at this establishment. He was told he had to make a deposit to reserve seating for a large group which was no problem. He was also told the plates were "sharable", not small plates.
Once we arrived to the restaurant we were told The menu was recently changed to "small plate style", which was not advertised in the TV segment. It was noted on the menu that they suggest we order 2 to 4 plates of each item(at $16.00 each). It was a very limited menu. Once we received our food, the bread, (which cost $10.00 a basket) was burnt. So we ordered a second basket after explaining the first basket was burnt and paid an additional $10.00. The only thing we were offered in place of our bad experience was one 4oz glass of Champagne, which I do not drink alcohol. My husband spoke to the manager concerning the service and poor food only to have the manager state he was sorry but "you" (referring to my husband) were informed of the small plates when making the reservation". Today, I called management to let them know that not only was the food small in portion, but it was not good, burnt, overpriced, and the service was poor (some guest received the wrong items of food. We spent nearly $500.00 for this experience. This establishment offered no real solutions,or substitutions to correct the problems we shared with them, instead made excuses that it was my husband's fault as he was told on the phone about their menu.

Wolf's Ridge Brewing Response • Feb 18, 2020

The following response will be representative of the Wolf's Ridge Brewing employees that had direct contact with the guest, *** and her husband who made the reservation, Clinton.

On Saturday, February 1, our hostess at Wolf's Ridge Brewing contacted Clinton to confirm the reservation in our system for that evening's Dining Room service. At this time, Clinton inquired about chicken tenders which we do not carry on any of our food menus. As our host tried to inform Clinton that we do not offer this nor do we offer platter style meals Clinton began speaking over her and raising his voice to the point where she decided to get the ***, Corey, to continue the conversation. Corey informed Clinton that we do offer a Chicken offering on our Children's menu (12 and under) and offered an exception to allow the 1 more specific eater Clinton had mentioned to order off the Children's menu to accommodate the guest's needs. Corey also informed Clinton at this time that our Dinner Menu for the Dining Room is a Shared Plate menu. Shared plate can be defined as somewhere in between an appetizer and an entree. It's not exactly the main course, but it also isn't a starter meal. This was prefaced to give Clinton an idea of what experience our restaurant offers and Corey also informed Clinton to view our menu on our website beforehand to see what we have to offer. After the initial conversation, Corey called Clinton back to confirm the party size once again at 15 guests and also to inform Clinton that the Children's menu Chicken offering was boneless since he stated the person in their party will only eat boneless chicken. (these notes are attached from their reservation). Upon arrival the guest brought an outside dessert, which Clinton had not mentioned in the previous phone calls. They were immediately informed that there was an outside dessert fee, as stated on our menus and website, since Wolf's Ridge offers our own desserts. They became upset about this and proceeded to be extremely short and rude with their server. During service they told their server that their bread was overcooked. They server apologized, remade the bread within 5 minutes, and checked back to see if it was acceptable. They did not say anything in affect that they were unsatisfied with it and proceeded to eat it. When offered a complimentary glass of champagne, which we do as a special gift for special occasions, the lady whose birthday it was explained to the server that, although she doesn't drink, that someone at the table would drink it. The server made many stops at this table to make sure everyone was satisfied with their food and experience. Any negative feedback was immediately met with efforts to correct the issue including remaking one item that needed sauce on the side. At one point one of the guests stated that if the server would take off the dessert fee that they would tip her. Clinton told the server that, if she would add candles to the cake, they would blow it out and take it home in order to avoid the dessert fee. They blew out the candles and then proceeded to pass out the cake and eat it. The manager on duty then added the dessert fee to their bill and informed Clinton that he had done so when presenting their bill. Clinton also told the server that Corey had promised them a free dessert in their previous phone call at which the server informed the manager. The manager then explained to Clinton that this was not the case after double checking with the reservation notes as well as Corey personally at which he asked for the bill. Clinton paid the bill and the party left without further comment. Four days later Clinton's wife, *** called the restaurant and talked to the manager as Corey was away from the building. She was very upset that she was told that their dining experience would be "family style" and that it was instead "gross food on small plates". I informed her that her husband had had two conversations the day of their reservation in which he was explained what Wolf's Ridge had to offer and what he could expect out of his dining experience. During both conversations he was asked if he wanted to keep the reservation and both times he said he did. During her phone call with the manager *** said that this was "all here-say" and that she would be telling everyone how terrible Wolf's Ridge is. She did not ask for compensation and generally spoke over the manager's attempts to alleviate the situation.

Due to our extensive efforts to clearly communicate and define expectations with the guests before, during, and after their visit coupled with their rudeness to the host and server Wolf's Ridge is unwilling to reimburse any part of their bill.
