I made the mistake of contracting with Jim Arguelles and his alleged company. I gave him
A $800 deposit and have not heard from him again. This old guy is a real con artist. Do not use him as a wood restorer. Nothing but a scam artist. I intend to sue him.
Review: A contract was signed with [redacted] from Wood Restoring in November 2013 to do doors and windows restoration. His crew started the job but [redacted] never showed up to check on them. As the customer, I had to supervise the job; some of the windows and doors had to be redone because of the lack of craftsmanship. It was taking them forever to go through the project. Every week the employees were coming after me to get paid saying that [redacted] didn't pay them. They took all exterior gates in their workshop to finish them, they were returned to my house just before christmas and not re-installed since. I tried to call [redacted] many times, he never returned my calls. One of the employees told me that [redacted] directed them not to finish the job.As of today [redacted] owes me $800 on the job without counting the facts that all gates have to be re-intalled.Desired Settlement: Contractor to payback $800.00 + expenses to have another company reinstall our gates.
Review: Had a wall unit refinished by [redacted] from his company Wood Restoration. They did a terrible job. They put the shelves back into the unit when the stain was still wet. They then sprayed the satin finish with the shelves in the wall unit. The result was a distinct white strip where the shelves were. I called [redacted] and he sent [redacted] (associate of [redacted]'s)to came out and [redacted] agreed a big mistake was made. He sprayed with the satin finish, saying the white stripes will disappear....to give it a day or two for the satin finish to dry and to call back if I was still unhappy. [redacted] was WRONG...The wall unit still shows where the shelves were. They were adjustable shelves....but no longer. I have to put the shelves back in the exact place to hide the white stripe. Called [redacted] again to no avail....He has not returned my calls. His email address is fake and his business license number is also fake. He has several different company names, two different web sites and different phone numbers. He apparently changes his company name along with his web site so his name does not come up when checking his work. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!Desired Settlement: I would like this company to come out and repair the stain on the wall unit the correct way so I will be able to adjust my shelves without seeing white and dark brown streaks
