Wood Termite & Pest Control, Inc. Reviews (1)

After I canceled my service the company claims they came to my home and serviced it without contacting me and while I was on vacation and billed me.I called Woods Termite & Pest Control in Mid July and canceled my service which was expensive and was not effective. In August, while I was on vacation in Florida, Woods claims they came to my home and provided service. They did not contact me to schedule the service they just showed up is was I was told by a woods representative. I did not ask for the service and I was not contacted to schedule service. I contacted Woods several times after being billed with notice I should pay to prevent collection procedures. I find it absolutely appalling that a company can say they provided service that is unwanted then basically use extortion to make you pay it by threatening to send you to collection agencies. Desired SettlementI want Woods to settle my account in the correct manner rather then give me excuses of why it wasn't canceled in the first place. I feel this is a way for them to receive revenue and I wouldn't be surprised if they have done this more then once.Business Response /[redacted]/Contact Name and Title: [redacted]Contact Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXXContact Email: [redacted]@woodtermiteandpest.comI, [redacted], VP at Wood Termite and Pest Control, received this Revdex.com complaint from our staff only today, 1/09/14. I would have surely responded before now. This situation was the result of some miscommunications on the company's part and on our part only. On July 12, 2013, Ms. [redacted] called our office to pay her balance and cancel her service with us. (This call was recorded and was located) Our CSR took the payment, but failed to note the account of the call, send notification to her manager of the cancellation, and delete the service which was to be performed later that month.July is a busy month in the office but that only makes it more important that we don't let things slip through the cracks. It does not let us off the hook.Since the service was not cancelled properly and the July work order not removed, we dispatched to her location on July 26, 2013 and completed a service. Her account was charged. On August 6th. Ms. [redacted] called to express concern over the charge from a date after she had cancelled. We saw the error, filled out the adjustment form and agreed to credit the account. Her account information was noted and her account finally cancelled as it was supposed to have been in July. This credit was for some reason not completed. Our office manager sees all adjustment requests and submits them to our billing office. We were in transition between office managers at this time and the forms may not have gone properly. (Again, not Ms. [redacted]'s problem) This resulted in the balance remaining on the account.Ms. [redacted] contacted us again in November 2013 to inquire about her balance not being credited off. At this point, our new office manager began handling it at this time. The adjustment was sent again during November 2013 and finally processed on December 8, 2013. We did not call Ms. [redacted] to confirm that this was finished. Ms. [redacted] entered this Revdex.com complaint on December 12, 2013, after we had credited the account. The company had more than ample opportunities to settle her account properly and failed to do so due to miscommunications and a breakdown of a long-standing and effective process.I would like to personally apologize profusely to Ms. [redacted] for our errors. I understand her frustration completely. Upon receiving this notice today, we contacted Ms. [redacted] to apologize via phone and confirm with her that there is no balance on her account. We will be using this incident for training purposes and to ensure that we do not cause this kind of frustration in any of our customers ever again. They are our most important priority.Let me be very clear that I, nor Wood Termite and Pest Control, Inc. has ever meant to mislead any client. We made some errors, but this was in no way malicious and we would hope this matter is closed following the company's response.Regards, [redacted]XXX-XXX-XXXX
