Unfortunately
for Mr. [redacted]s, I have written documents backing up my claim. The fire
was reported when I made the call for towing. I have pictures. Also, I
have emails stating, from their rep, that the car was in great shape.
Also, I specifically asked about the speed related parts and was
assured, in writing, that the vehicle was in great shape for the
repairs. I have pictures of work done, but not done correctly and is the
reasoning for the fire. It it unfortunate, as I hoped to resolve this
without involving and supeonoing his employees and the mechanics I have
ready to testify. I will ask for lengthy rental, fees to cover expenses
for the mechanics to appear in court, personal aggravation fees for
myself, as well as attorney fees.
I ask that Mr [redacted]s reconsider in his time off with the surgery, as this
no doubt will we'll exceed the repairs he is responsible for. I will
wait until the first week in January to hear back. If not, I will file
my claim and seek legal damages, using ample proof, documents, photos
and statements that I have available. Included is just one of the
photos. This is of the valve cover "professional work" I paid for.
Either Mr [redacted]s is delusional in this situation, or his employees are
lying to him to cover their mistakes. Either way, the choice on how to
proceed is his. I wish to resolve this out of court and just get my car
fixed, as I paid for, at his expense. But I am fully prepared to see
this matter through via the legal system.
I have now made my complaints public, legally, on nearly all review websites regarding mechanics. I have pictures, emails, statments, etc to prove, beyond any reasonable doubt, that [redacted]'s is responsible for the fire in my engine. In fact, Mr. [redacted]'s tells a lie when he states I did not report it to him until now. The fire was reported literally minutes after it happened, as I called [redacted]'s towing immediately after and told them to send a truck, as my engine had caught fire. It's sad that such a place of integrity has diminished so. Likely time to sell to someone that cares about the work they do.I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to
complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action
would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the

Dear Revdex.com. Thank you for bringing this complaint to our attention and [redacted]’s is very aware of Mr. [redacted] complaint. I will explain to you what I can but due to Mr. [redacted] intentions of turning this over to Legal Council I must limit what I can say as he has already stated in his complaint. As in every...

complaint we have ever received [redacted]’s takes this very seriously. I will be brief.  [redacted] brought his 99 Pontiac GTP with 137,877 miles to our shop for a check over for possible repairs. [redacted]’s techs assembled a list of repairs that we could VISIBALLY SEE that needed attention. Many repairs were made and some where not. [redacted] wanted some SPEED RELATED parts installed as well but our lead tech said “I would not recommend you installing these speed related parts on your vehicle until you drive it a while and make sure there are no unforeseen issues since the vehicle has been sitting”  Without going in to detail on every part installed, there were many suspension related parts installed, light assemblies, tune up related parts, engine mounts and hoses and more exterior engine parts. As in any vehicle, a Tech can see visible repairs needed but it is impossible to see interior engine wear and condition. This vehicle was aged and needed many repairs as you can see on our invoice. We work on many aged high mileage vehicles every year, many in the same condition as Mr. [redacted]s. When working on any vehicle regardless of year or mileage, there is a chance of the unexpected going bad. Many statements that Mr. [redacted] stated in his complaint were not correct but I will not go in to that. The female that Mr. [redacted] was referring to that he spoke to was my secretary and when she gave me the message and stated that he was hiring a Lawyer that’s when I got silent. It is [redacted]’s policy that when Legal Council is threatened we back off and let the customer proceed and I stated that to Mr. [redacted] when I spoke to him on the phone. I was not rude to him in any way but was limited to what I said. The engine is locked up, full of clean oil and all fluids. I will not discuss any fire. This is the first time we have heard anything either time about a fire. Mr. [redacted] has had a ample amount of time to have brought this fire situation to our attention. He has now started  all a sudden to come up with every complaint he can think of. The fact is something inside the engine went bad and locked up. This is a situation that Mr. [redacted] or [redacted]’s could not have prevented. As Mr. [redacted] stated, somehow while the vehicle was in our facility the windshield got damaged. We do not know if it was done outside in our parking lot or inside our shop but we did the right thing and installed a new one at no charge.I will be going in for major surgery on Wed. and be away from work for a few weeks but will be checking my email in a couple of weeks. Please feel free to email me concerning this matter. There are a lot of untrue statements made in Mr. [redacted]s complaint and I cannot discuss them at this time due to his Legal Council threat.[redacted]

Review: Some time in August (unknown exact date), after speaking to representatives at [redacted]s, I took my car in for extensive repairs. My car is a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP. I purchased this car in 1999 with 43 miles on it and drove it off the show room floor. I have driven this car on and off since then. Months before, I had wrecked (not at fault) my Nissan Z and it was totalled, so I took the overage on the payoff to [redacted]s to repair my 1999 GP. I discussed the repairs for weeks with the person I was dealing with. I wanted to make sure a car of this age was solid enough to make the extensive repairs needed. I was assured many times it was, in writing and over the phone. After about a week and a half of being in the shop and $4600 later, I arrived to pick up my car. Several things were immediately wrong. One, the windshield has been cracked, to which they did replace. Another example is the lights were replaced, but pointed up. The repair person never took the time to dial them in to the road. When I arrived, the salesman told me he personally drove the car and commented on how fast it was and how well it did. So much so, he went and got another employee to drive it.

I drove the car home and noticed some "pinging" and such, but was told before I took it off the lot to expect some new noises as the car settles in, as it had had a lot of work done. I live around 5 miles from [redacted]s. The next day, while driving to the gym, 3 miles or so from my home, I noticed a loss of power. The next two miles the car began to shake and shudder and continue to lose power. Once I noticed black smoke rising, I pulled over and popped my hood to an engine fire. I immediately called [redacted]s to come and tow me.

So, to recap. $4600 in extensive repairs. Have driven the car for 16 years with no major issues. Two people drove the car that were employees. 10 miles from the shop my engine catches on fire. The next day I called and asked for the owner, [redacted]. Him and my family have been friends for many, many years. I had mentioned to the person I left a message with, an unknown female, that I fully wish to resolve this through them but was completely willing to get legal counsel if necessary. When [redacted] returned my call, he was angry and unwilling to speak. He stated that he would wait to hear from my attorney.

It simply defies logic to believe after 16 years and the only owner, only after spending $4600 on major repairs, more than the car is worth, then the engine catches on fire. I have had two mechanics to look at my vehicle. They pointed out many, many, many problems. I have photos from their direction. I am in a dilemma. I dont want to give too much info, as if this goes to court, I need to be prepared. But, I want to resolve this with [redacted]s and get my car fixed. The mechanics are willing to testify to work being done incorrectly, or not at all. One example that I will give, the valve covers were replaced. Yet, the surrounding area was not cleaned. Its filthy. Its impossible that there is a solid seal because of the years worth of accumulation of things that get in an engine area. The pictures I have are shocking. Not to mention many screws and bolts missing from work areas, etc. As well, the mechanics pointed out many other major flaws.

If this goes to court, I will ask for actual damages paid for to me to get the work done at another shop, full retail value. I will also ask for attorneys fee's, rental and personal compensation for not having a vehicle. This will well exceed the cost of repairs, as I am forced to put time and effort and hire an attorney because the owner refused to work with me on getting my car repaired.Desired Settlement: I want to resolve this with [redacted]s. I want to bring my car in and have it repaired at their expense. If not, I will pursue the matter legally and am prepared now with mechanic statements and photos to back up my claim.

Review: On February 8 my Chevrolet Impala had started overheating and I noticed the coolant was very low when I checked it. On February 9 I told Woods there may be a leak in the coolant system and the car was overheating. They said I had a cracked head gasket and needed to replace that, which after that and other repairs cost about $800. I had that repair done but then noticed the next day my heat wasn't working but held off on getting that looked at. The next Monday February 16 the Hot Temp Light came on again and the car was overheating. I went back to Woods and explained that the car was still overheating, the coolant was low, and the heat did not work. They fixed the heat and apologized for not recommending to replace a thermostat that was apparently causing the problems. That cost another $64. On the 19th I noticed the heat stopped working again and Woods looked at it and said they cleaned out some hoses and pipes and claimed the heat was working again but did not mention about the coolant system or overheating engine. That night I noticed the heat still was not working. I had another Auto Repair shop take a look at my Impala on the 20th and they claimed all of the coolant had leaked out of the car, possibly for an entire day or more. Within an two hours they had replaced a water pump and hoses, along with a serpentine belt, that they said were shredded and most likely caused the leak. How Woods never saw this I don't know. The heat also worked great after this. They also mentioned that there was no reason to have replaced the gasket heads on the engine which most likely had nothing to do with the coolant leak and overheating. That same morning on the 20th I had called Woods about the heating problem and Woods mentioned replacing the heater core, which would not have solved the original problem. On the 23rd I mentioned to Woods what the actual problem was, that I had got it fixed, and they said OK and did not seem to be concerned one way or the other. The main problem I have is that I went in to fix one main problem, the coolant leak, and after 3 visits to Woods the repair wasn't done and I had spent over $800 for no reason. I also could have damaged my car even further since I don't know how long there was no coolant in my car. I would have rather been told that they couldn't fix or find the problem and give my car back to me than to have it experimented on and possibly further damaged while charging me for it at the same time.Desired Settlement: I know I will probably never get a refund since I paid for services rendered, even though it was not satisfactory. If at all possible I would like to have some type of compensation for the unnecessary $800 head gasket repair which did nothing to fix my coolant leak and overheating engine. At the very least I want people to know the quality of service people receive from this business.
