Review: Attempted to purchase firearms at this store location. During the transaction I asked questions regarding store policies and refunds before I made my purchase. The salesman denied me full information regarding refunds until I signed and purchased my firearms. Once transaction was complete, 24hrs later I was denied my purchase due to a state record dated back in 2009. I contacted the company in order to receive a refund and they denied my refund leaving me with the only option of store credit. I was not aware of this policy during purchase due to salesman hiding this information from me as I asked before my purchase. Had I known I would have halted the transaction and made sure I would be eligible before purchasing elsewhere. I spoke to the manager and told them the situation and they denied my refund of $752.00. I have no means of purchasing any other product there but firearms and I'm unable to until 03-2014. Now this company has $750.00 of my funds and I don't know what to do. Terrible customer service and I feel as if im being bullied into purchasing a product from them.Desired Settlement: I am requesting a refund of 750.00 from the $752.00 which deducts the processing fee of 2.00. This store doesn't have any other products other than firearms that would interest me. Store credit is not feasible in this situation.

Dear **. [redacted],
I have received your notice of a complaint bearing the ID number [redacted] regarding the denied request for a refund by a customer named **, [redacted].
The incident in question is referring to a transaction that occurred on 27 September 2013. **. [redacted] was interested in purchasing some handguns. My employee showed him the weapons. Due to the fact that this a federal and state controlled transaction, we inform EACH customer of all items REQUIRED and NECESSARY to purchase a weapon. We inform the customer that if for ANY reason the customer gets denied by the state/federal government that we only offer a store credit The customer is the one with personal knowledge of their criminal record. For example if they are, say, a felon, drug addiction or conviction or has a domestic violence misdemeanor. These are the type of reasons that an individual will be denied the purchase by the government entities. We inform the customer of this before they fill out the required state and federal forms AND that if they should be denied it may result in one or more of several things. The first item is that they will only receive a store credit The second item is a potential investigation by the local, state, or federal government for tiying to obtain a weapon knowing that they are prohibited from having one. Which may also result in charges for falsifying answers on the forms in order to obtain said weapon. He was informed of ALL of this. There are signs posted, notes on receipts, and ALWAYS informed verbally because we can not be sure customers read all signage in the store. We have been in business for 20+ years and not had ANY issues from the BATF, Virginia State Police or The [redacted] County police. This is the first customer denied firearms to complain to the Revdex.com or any other organization. We have been successful in dealing with our customers one-to-one and this success is attributed to many things including our good standing with the BATF, Virginia State Police and our policies to inform customers of the rules PRIOR to purchase of any weapons requiring background checks. We stand by our policy. Firearms are a VERY serious topic and transaction NOT to be taken lightly and we do nothing of the sort. I appreciate your entities concern for patrons of the Washington D.C. area but we feel as though our policies are fair and in practice for very good reasons.
All of this was explained to the customer PRIOR to collecting money and his completion of federal/state background forms and after his denial.
Thank you for your communication.
