Woodchuck's Building & Home Center, Inc. Reviews (1)

First we would like to thank you for working with us to sort out the problem we had with email from the Revdex.com ("Revdex.com"). I feel that it should go on record that even though the above referenced complaint was sent to you on August 21, 2015; it was never received from the Revdex.com by Forbes...

Capretto Homes ("Forbes") until September 21, 2015 when you and I concluded that there was an email problem between our companies. As I read the complaint, the fact that the [redacted] ("Customer") mention that they started having problems after being in their home 2-3 years raises the issue of warranty and what Forbes is truly responsible for. According to our records, this home closed and became the Customers property on January 19, 2010. As part of their contract with Forbes, they received our limited warranty referred to as Schedule"C" (copy of original available upon request). In that warranty, any defects in materials and workmanship related to the roof would fall under the First Year Basic Coverage. Since the first year anniversary occurred before any roof issues were brought to our attention, we believe that issues with the roof are not the responsibility of Forbes. It is not to say that we were not sympathetic to the situation. We were kept in the loop by the Customer of roof problems encountered after our warranty expired and we sent our roofing subcontractor ("[redacted]"), who installed the original roof, to make repairs at their expense. This continued on until December 2014 when we decided to have the roof examined by an expert to see if there were flaws in the installation or material. We hired The [redacted] Company and had them provide us with a thorough inspection of the labor and materials. Enclosed is a copy of the report. It mentions a few housekeeping tasks that could be employed to lengthen the life of the roof, but the essential part of the report did not uncover any problems with the labor or materials. This report was satisfactory to Forbes, but not to the Customer. They continued to insist that the roof was bad and that it needed replacement. Accordingly we asked [redacted] to contact the shingle manufacturer's representative to receive a second opinion on the shingles. At the present time we are waiting for the results of laboratory testing on the shingles to see if the manufacturer is the reason for problems. We offer this information in order to help resolve the contended issue. We hope our actions have demonstrated that Forbes has not abandoned this Customer, but has made a good faith effort to provide solutions. The manufacture's report is eagerly awaited. Sincerely, Vincent C. Business Manager   See attached Inspection Report.
