Wooden Nickel Restaurant Reviews (2)

This letter is in response to the customers (*** ***)complaint that I received from the Revdex.com on February 7, 2017.There are two separate dates and issues here.Customer *** *** Sent an email on December to Wooden Nickel banquets.com (Please refer to enclosed
email)He had requested $gift card and my assistant manager Eileen R***, called the number that he had provided on the email and he gave her a credit card number of a Visa ending in ***.We told him that when he orders a $gift card he gets $20gift card free.*** gave Eileen the address to where the gift card was to be mailed. My manager Eileen mailed the $gift card to his sister-in-law *** *** on December She personally took it to the mailbox to mail.We received correspondence from Mr*** a month laterthat he had spoken to his sister-in-law who stated that she never did receive the gift card back in December.I have emails between January and January of correspondence between Mr.*** and my assistant manager Eileen.Eileen the assistant manager stated that she was unaware that the sister in law did not receive the said gift card from 12/and apologized and stated she would send another one out immediately. She had thought this was for the original one requested on 12/16.So, on Thursday January 26th, she mailed another $gift card to this same person, *** ***, his sister in law..at the same address he had provided on 12/16/16.When Eileen sent an email apologizing again, and Informed him that the $gift card was mailed, Mr.*** stated thatshe (Eileen)had it wrong...that it was supposed to be a $gift card.He then sent an email to Eileen showing a charge on 12/for $150.He stated he expected it to be a $gift card, since he would have gotten the $for free. This transaction was a total separate transaction from the request on 12/16.He states he never spoke to anyone on the 16th and does not have a visa credit card ending in ***.However, my manager knows with whom she spoke and to whom she mailed the gift card. So, when Mr *** called the restaurant and wanted to speak with me on that Saturday Jan 28th, I spoke with him.He stated to me he never called or did anything with the restaurant on Christmas Eve.His wife was screaming in the background that they live in Ohio and had not been to the restaurant, or called therestaurant on xmas eveThe wife continued yelling in the background and hung up on me.She then called me back twenty minutes later stating that she called Verizon and had phone record of a call to *** *** (wooden nickel in Monroeville)on 12/at 12:pm.Stated she told her husband to order a $gift card for the sister in law.I told her that her husband just told me in our previous phone conversation that he had never called on that day.So I told her, that if you were never here and didn't order anything on 12/then you should dispute the charge. He then emailed a picture of the transaction dated 12/for $150.Are they confused ? Do they not know what each other is doing?I told her that a gift card for $was mailed to his sister againon Thursday January 26th, and in between her screaming at me asked her to have her husband call his sister to see if she received it.This was Saturday, and it was mailed a few miles away on Thursday, so she should have gotten it.The wife ***, continued to scream at me, all the while, I had my assistant manager on speaker phone on another phone, who heard all of this.I repeatedly asked *** to stop yelling and tried to tell her that we would mail another $gift card out to *** ***, thus making the total amount $She continued screaming and hung up on me.I called my chef and got record of the gift card ordered on 12/24.It was also mailed and whether it was lost in the mail or what? I do not know. But we did issue and mail out a $gift card 1/and a $gift card 1/28.Eileen sent Mr *** a follow up email stating the same, apologizing again, because we did not know what had happened with the gift card that was mailed xmas eve....and she requested that he cancel his dispute of the credit cardcharge for $on 12/24, since he actually did request this and we did provide the gift cards.....Not once, but twice. So, when all is said and done, the sister in law was mailed a $gift card 12/And a $gift card 1/26...And a $gift card 1/28...Total is $gift cards mailed to this sane address of *** ***.Mr*** ignored the email and did not respond to Eileen's email. Then we received in the mail a compiaint from the Revdex.com that he had initiated on the 28th of January and a dispute of his credit card for the $charged as per his request on December 24th.I actually called directory assistance and got the phone number for *** ***, and I tried to call her number for three days at different times, to ask her if she ever received the two gift cards totaling $170.There was no answer or it was a busy signal for three days.I also dialed one of the phone numbers for the *** couple and they did not answer or call me back.Rather than dispute a credit card dispute of the $150...I made the decision todeactivate the two gift cards issued on 1/and 1/28, for $and $respectively.Since I did not dispute the charge of the $150, Mr *** was made whole, getting his entire $back. It will be his responsibility to tell *** *** that these two cards will have no value.Sincerely, Deenie R***

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
To: Revdex.comFrom: [redacted] (Compliant ID: [redacted]Subject: ResponseI had originally submitted a gift card request via the restaurant website on 012/16 for $100. The instructions on the website was that they would get in touch with me to get my credit card information and send out the gift card.Since I had not heard from the restaurant, I called the restaurant on 12/24 to check on the status and complete the transaction. At that time, I provided them my credit card number and also increased the gift card amount to $150. The card never arrived. Please note that this credit card number that I provided them on this call was not the card ending in [redacted] that they mentioned in their response. In fact, I have no credit card ending in that number. My guess is that the 12/16 transaction of $100 that they mentioned was for someone else. Please find a copy of both credit card transaction as well as a copy of my cell call log below. There was no record from my cell phone log that I had called them on any other date other than 12/24. As you can see from the log, these phone calls involved me initially ordering the card and the person calling me back to verify.Credit Card:Call Log:Dec 24 12:23 PM  [redacted]  Dublin, OH   Monroevelle PA  6Dec 24 12:38 PM  [redacted]  Dublin, OH   Incoming            2They said that I never purchased the $150 gift card which was false based on the details above. They told me to dispute that charge with the credit card company which I have. They said I purchased a $100 gift card through an e-maii with a visa card that I do not own. I would never email my credit card to anyone !!!!. They said they said that they sent out the $100 gift card which did not arrive back in December, 2016. They refused to acknowledge that they made a mistake, it took till the middle of February for the original $150 gift card to arrive which was then shut off by the restaurant secondary to the dispute. We have warned the recipient not to use the gift card. What a shameful way to treat your customers. Eileen the manager and Deenie R[redacted] (Owner) have been very argumentative and not very helpful in the process. Please find attached copies of my e-mails. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me 614 563 6012Regards,
