Woodland homes, [redacted] , has made a habit of taking people's earnest money for a home based on an initial price, and THEN KEEPS your money AFTER the prices are jackto the point a potential buyer can't buy..so you either lose your money, or suffer a $55,INCREASE from the original price Our story: In Sept 16, Our realtor contacted us stating that [redacted] , owner of woodland homes, had increased the purchase price on the home we were hoping to have built [redacted] stated through his realtor that we either agree to his $55,increase and sign a new contract with woodland, or he would consider this a mutual release...however, the contract he indicated had already EXPIRED a year agoWe sent the woodland realtor an email stating that we opted NOT to sign a contract with the $55,increase, and agreed to the mutual releaseOn Tuesday, Sept 16, the realtor sent us the paperwork; we signed the form for the mutual release which was to refund our $5,earnest moneyI was CC'd on the original e-mail from the realtor to woodland homesI sent a follemail on Tuesday, Oct 16, to [redacted] Evans, of woodland homes, inquiring to the status of our refundOn Wednesday, Oct 16, I received the following e-mail from Ms [redacted] "Since we received a release of contingency release e-mail from [redacted] on 2-29-16, you completed all design appointments and used valuable resources to send you through our processIn accordance of our Contingency Removal the earnest money will be nonrefundable" First of all, the contingency Ms***'s mentioned ONLY stated that we were going remove the contingency from our original contract regarding the sale of our current homeSecond, this contingency EXPIRED a year ago, and we never signed a new contract, or a new contingency No extensions were doneWhat woodland homes is basing on keeping OUR money is on a release of contingency to sell OUR home...and that contract is null and void considering it expired in July of The e-mail MsEvans and woodland homes is referencing is also null and void, as woodland's standard time for anything is days....so let's countFeb, Mar, Apr, May, June, July, Aug, Sept....that's Days We had heard about this from other individuals who either built with [redacted] , or were going to build with [redacted] , and didn'tWe have heard from other neighborhoods that tried to take him to court and failed because his pockets are deep here.....we have heard from others who were in the process OF building with [redacted] , and during the building process the prices kept going up, and up, and up...just as he did with usHe out priced us to the point we could not sign a contract, and he keeps your money
