Woodplay of the Carolinas Reviews (1)

I contacted Woodplay NC regarding their lifetime warranty covering insect damage on 5/16/15. Today, 7/14/15, my claim has still not been processed.I contacted [redacted] at my local woodplay on 5/16/15 requesting information on the warranty for insect damage. He sent me a copy of the warranty on 5/19/15 and requested a copy of my receipt and pictures of the damage. I emailed him a picture of my original receipt from 2007 and pictures of the damage on 5/22/15. I did not receive an email response so I called the local store on 5/28/15 and the person I spoke to (not [redacted]) requested that I send them pictures of my receipt and of the insect damage which I did on 5/28/15 to a separate email from the one I used on 5/22/15. On 6/2/15 [redacted] requested additional photos of the damage and of the entire playset. I sent him those pictures on 6/2/15 and requested an update on my claim, I asked for details about how the claim would be handled, if they repair or replace the damaged sections, and I also expressed my desire to upgrade my play set in addition to having the warranty repairs. On 6/9/15 [redacted] sent an email indicating he was waiting to hear from the warranty department, but did not answer any of my questions or acknowledge my desire to upgrade my play set. On 6/24/15, after not hearing anything since 6/9/15, I sent an email to [redacted] indicating I was very disappointed with how my claim had been handled. I still had no explanation on how the damage would be fixed, and no progress had been made regarding my request to upgrade my playset. [redacted] responded by email that he was still waiting to hear from the warranty department, and I would hear something by the end of that week. When I did not hear anything by the end of that week I used an internet contact form for the parent company [redacted]. I heard from their warranty department on 7/6/15 and they requested an explanation of what had been done so far. I explained that I had contacted [redacted] several times and still had no information on the status of my claim. [redacted] with [redacted] responded on 7/7/15 that she had "all the pictures from [redacted]" and the carpenter bee damage was not structural and my set would not be covered. I responded on 7/7/15 that the carpenter bees were not the main problem, that I only documented them to be thorough and that my set has termites. I asked her if termites were not considered to be covered under the "insect damage" aspect of the warranty. I stated that since the termites have infested the bottom of the playset supports, that it rocks when children use it, I feel the damage IS structural and I requested that someone come and visually inspect the play set. [redacted] responded on 7/8/15 that [redacted] probably considered the damage at the bottom of the play set to be "ground rot" and did not forward those pictures to the warranty department as that would not be covered. I also sent all photographs to [redacted] on 7/8/15 and stated that live termites are visible, the trails they make when they eat the wood are visible, and that it would be easy to see on inspection in person. [redacted] indicated in her email on 7/8/15 that she had responded to [redacted] on 6/16/15 that my claim was denied, but having said that she offered to ask [redacted] to take a look in person to confirm the safety of the set. I was not contaced by [redacted] to set up a time to inspect the play set and I received no response from [redacted]. I emailed on 7/14/15 asking for an update. [redacted] responded on 7/14/15 that [redacted] could not find my address and asked for me to send a copy of my original receipt. I responded that I emailed him a copy of my receipt on 5/22/15 and that I also sent a copy of my receipt to [redacted] on 5/28/15 and that because I had already sent it twice I would not resend it. I stated I would be filing a claim with the Revdex.com because It was clear that after over 2 months my claim was not going to be processed even after emails to 3 different persons and also a phone call to the business. Desired SettlementI would like someone to inspect my play set in person. I would like the sections of the play set that have termite damage to be replaced. I would like to have this done at the earliest convenience of the business at no cost to myself.Business Response Despite delays due to miscommunication by both Woodplay of the Carolinas personnel, Woodplay Corporate who awards warranty parts, and the end customer - a personal visit was arranged, completed, and warranty parts approved by Woodplay Corporate on 7/22. The [redacted] since have scheduled a service to be completed by Woodplay of the Carolinas which will take place on August 12th at the request of Mr. [redacted].Consumer Response A representative from Woodplay of NC came to my house and inspected my play set on July 22,2015. He agreed the play set had insect damage and scheduled repairs to take place on August 12, 2015. All damaged sections were replaced and the entire play set was pressure washed and re-stained to match the replacement pieces. I am satisfied with the completed repairs and the response from the business following my complaint to the Revdex.com.
