We engaged*** *** and *** *** of Woodsmark Construction to perform remodeling and repair work in late June
In the course of performing their work *** *** and *** *** failed to properly re-install the waterline to the refrigeratorOver the next to weeks a constant drip occurred causing significant mold and water damage
Prior to being engaged *** *** of Woodsmark Construction represented that they were insured contractorsWhen notified of the damages, *** *** and *** *** of Woodsmark Construction represented they would stand by their work but did not want to file an insurance claimWhen the full scope of the damages became apparent they never responded to further communicationsWe gave them opportunities to "save face" and pay for it out of pocket in the event that we were lied to about them having insurance coverageThe initial paperwork from *** *** and *** *** of Woodsmark Construction stated their work had a one year warranty
After months had passed since the damages were discovered, we also reached out again and gave them another opportunity to pay the judgment rendered against them by the court in the preceding month. We let them know that a failure to pay would result in us filing paperwork that may cause them to be incarceratedIn that notice we also let them know we had waited months to do an internet review of our experience but would no longer be waiting to do soThese communications also did not cause them to stand by their work and pay for the damages.
In addition to the water and mold damages that occurred, we were told that with the final invoice we would receive detailed copies of any additional chargesThat did not occurThe few receipts we did receive included us being charged for items that were returned as well as bottled water and small tools the contractors used to do their job and then subsequently kept for their future useWe were even charged for products to remove paint stains from our carpet that were created by their workAlthough when we pointed out the stains, *** *** said "I have something at home that will take that right out"We received additional plumbing charges when the original quote said plumbing would be includedWhile working in our home, they failed to cover our carpets with a protective coveringThe carpets that did not have to be replaced due to water and mold damage had to be professionally cleaned to get the dirt outOur home carpet cleaner was inadequate for that purposeAdditionally many days after they finished working for the day, we cleaned to minutes after they left to help protect the remainder of our home because their cleaning was not adequate for floor coverings
We could pile on with various quality comments, but I will stop reviewing or experience hereThose who read this will understand from our experience
• we had significant damages to our home as a result of the contractors work that the contractors did not reimburse us for even when presented with a court order to do so;
• we had billing issues;
• we had integrity issues; and
• we had workplace cleanliness issues
