I was highly disappointed with the service department at the Woodstock Ford Dealership. My husband and I both dealt with them and not only were they extremely rude but also not very helpful or accommodating. WE have taken our truck their before and I will tell you that is the last time we will ever step foot into that building again. Which is too bad, since we are looking at purchasing a new truck very soon.
The way they spoke to either of us, was not appreciated or should not be accepted. Shame on you Woodstock Service Department.

I bought a 2014 Ford Escape from Woodstock Ford in Woodstock. When we took it out for a test drive we noticed a clunking noise when we turned corners when we get back to car lot we told the salesperson about it. He said it would be fixed part of safety check. The manager came out and we went for a drive and he told us the same thing that it would be fixed. So we bought it! It was still clunking so we went back, they went on the internet and found out it was common in this year of Escapes and all they could do was grease it. This does not solve the problem. It still clunks when turning corners.

You can't tell me that we are the only only one's who have this problem. They also said if they put new strutts in they might not work this doesn't make any sense. ***. I don't think they are standing by their word.

Desired Outcome

I would like something done besides putting grease in . Thank you

Woodstock Ford Response

The service manager contacted the customer via telephone. We have explained to the customer that based on our service records, the technician drove the vehicle and documented that he did not hear the noise at time of testing. Was also driven a second time with the service manager at that time and no noise could be heard. The vehicle was inspected on hoist and no defects were found. We searched for any bulletins or service messages from Ford of Canada and followed TSB 13-12-9 based on customer complaint of clunk or rattle noise heard in front end when cornering or over bumps at lower speeds. This procedure involved applying dielectric compound to the strut shaft that contacts the jounce bumper on the affected side of the vehicle - we performed procedure on both sides as a precaution. Vehicle was roadtested a third time and still no noise heard. Customer admits that the noise is very intermittent. He says he called back at a later date and spoke to the general manager and told him noise still there and after GM had investigated a little, verified that the vehicle had been mechanically inspected and we found it safe and at this time there was no known repair procedure other than the TSB which had been performed. The customer said he wouldn't drive all the way back here to just "add grease" and that he would have his own mechanic do this. The customer said he didn't want to call us just to be told we would apply grease again and that is why he contacted the Revdex.com. Service manager informed customer that when noises are intermittent and we cannot verify when testing that it can be difficult to diagnose and that we followed standard repair procedures by roadtesting multiple times, performing mechanical inspection of vehicle and checking for related messages for repair from Ford of Canada. We have recommended for customer to return for us to retest to see if we can at least verify the noise and reinspect. Customer said he wasn't sure he wanted to come back and would talk to his wife and get back to us if he decided to come in. Service manager assured customer we would be happy to repair the vehicle and to do so we must be able to verify noise and isolate source of noise.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I took my 2014 Ford escape back to woodstock ford on monday nov 20 they finally called today to tell us that there was a clunk. so now they are going to put a new stratts and brachets. they will get the parts tomorrow. they want to keep my vehicle until Monday and try it then. hoping all is well should have it back by Monday.

If possible we would like to try it for a couple of weeks to make sure that is what it was, so maybe keep the file open till dec 15th.
