Woori America Bank Reviews (2)
Review: Business atm/debit card fraud was detected on 11/**/2013. I looked through the business checking account transaction via online banking platform and saw a charge of $12.78 from a London based travel site.
I immediately called the bank and advised them to cancel both cards just in case and upon looking into the account further the representative stated that there were additional charges made that were on "HOLD".
I proceeded to ask the representative to cancel the charges since the items were on "HOLD" but I was told that since these transactions were made via the usage of a debit card claims could not be made.
The additional charges totaled to roughly $545 which were all purchases made on London based websites such as www.[redacted].com, WM Morrisons, and www.[redacted].com. I was not in London, nor would I make any purchases online for products in London.
If the bank checks the account transactions since the opening of the account that can be clearly seen.
If needed, please do not hesitate to contact me for further information.Desired Settlement: I hope that the bank can see the transactions for what it is, fraud, and replace the money that is lost. I wish to be credited back the funds to my business account as soon as possible as business is already not doing well and with this event occurring it feels like a crushing blow.
A response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], was provided via telephone. Agent at the bank stated the bulk of the transactions failed and will nit be posted against the business account. The one transaction that was posted against the account will be funded back to the account. Our business find that this response and action was very substantial and satisfactory. I would like to say that the matter has been resolved. Please close the complaint against the bank as they have been very helpful in the matter.
Review: I borrowed the money from woori bank many years ago for my office condo.recently I have claimed an insurance and I was told from insurance company that they can not pay because my mortgage bank put a lien against any payment made by insurance company. the insurance is master insurance which condo association provide to all the unit owner. accoding to insurance company and condo association they do not allow any individual bank to hold the lien against insurance payment to condo association. so condo association and insurance company asked my bank to remove the clause. and bank asked me to provide other insurance policy so they can put a lien against any payment insurance made. basically for their convenience I have to pay twice for the same insurance . I do not think it is fair for consumers.I understand the bank have a right to protect loan value so they can ask to provide valid insurance policy . my case is different since the condo association pay the insurance premium.I asked a few insurance company but all they said about my case is they can not sell the insurance because it is already covered by the other .anyhow one company agreed to sell the insurance so I have bought and provided insurance policy to bank.I asked other unit owner and they said they only provide insurance policy number but woori bank insisted all other banks do the same way they does.do you think woori bank has a right to do it and is it fair practice.bank sent me this sectioninsurance policyfire insurance naming the bank as loss payee and /or additional insured as appropriate.Desired Settlement: they should not ask me to buy same coverage insurance for their own convenience as long as I provide enough insurance to cover loan. I think my condo master insurance policy is sufficient.and they should refund the cost of my insurance premium I paid.
