Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: business was given many opportunities to complete the job and did not come to the job site when we were told he would show up we changed the locks because someone tried to get in the house while we were not thereI have pictures of the work that was not completedI was also told if the number of employees on our job site was decreased that our payment would decrease but the payment never decreased but he fired employee in week The initial estimate of time was 4-weeks but he took weeks and still did not finishThe contractor and helper was supposed to come in on Sunday and work to Friday afternoon but that only happened the last weeks of the weeksThe first weeks of the project no one was there on Monday because of many different excusesThe work was so bad that I had to hire someone else to fix his sloppy work and to complete the jobWe requested to remove one additional wall but were not told until he stopped working that that is why he was behind and it added another week How can a contractor take down walls in one week but then say oh because we asked for an additional wall to be removed it added another week It is my understanding he has also walked off the job of our neighbors project Regards, [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: We did not finish because we were not given the oppertunity to complete work. You have admitted to this. ( This is not true as they were given several opportunities to finish but never showed up and when they did it was 5 minutes after I left to return a u-haul trailer and [redacted] told my daughter to be quiet as he was talking to my wife and when my grandson stood up to say something [redacted] got mad and walked out of the house and said finish it yourself)  If the work was sloppy as you claim why would you keep paying me week after week for six week 2500.00 dollars a week ? [redacted] delayed the start of our project and did not start working for us until 3 weeks after the date was set for him to begin ( he said he was delayed because of rain in [redacted] so he could not begin working for us until after 3 weeks of the initial start date . How does rain effect working on kitchens in condos in [redacted] ) ? The first 3 weeks work of the six week project were pretty good ( not excellent) but our biggest problem was [redacted] not showing up on Mondays and sometimes Tuesday for the work week. One Monday he had a flat tire on the truck, one Monday his truck would not start and needed  a new battery, one Monday his truck got hail damage . ( this is just the first 3 weeks) . If he worked the full week for the entire time period as he said in the beginning maybe he would have finished on time.  As far as added items they are in all the texts and emails and no it wasn't just one wall. As far as firing one of the employees he was only fired because he was approached by the owner to do other work for them which is grounds for terminating all work .We should have left then but because they were the parents of my friend we stayed.   ( this statement is false as [redacted] asked me if there was anything his workers could do to earn extra money ( mow the yard etc and neither of the owners asked  his worker for his phone # ) [redacted] told me he fired his worker because of poor work and showed me the ceiling that [redacted] had to redo and then [redacted] mentioned the phone # incident and told me do not tell my wife as she will get mad and yes she got mad because she did not ask for the phone #) By the way [redacted] since you are so interested about the work next door the reason we terminated that contract is because my father passed away and I was needed elsewhere. Not that it was any of your business but I want it known .  Again the deal was we would do what we could in the time span of six weeks and get paid 2500 a week. Because they were my friends parents.  Ps never again.  ( this is false,  we agreed upon a 4 to 5 week project to renovate the kitchen, install new wood floors throughout the house and renovate two bathrooms and install tile in the laundry room) . The only item in this list that [redacted] completed was the wood floors. See attached pictures of kitchen, bathrooms and laundry room .We paid him because he is the cousin of our daughters friend and I am a man of my word and that is what we agreed upon 2500 per week for [redacted] and his 2 assistants however in week 4 thru 6 he only had 1 assistant but we still paid the full agreed upon price of $ 2500 per week. In addition the deposit of $ 1,500 was partially for permits ( that were never requested per the City of [redacted] ) and the deposit was never reconciled and therefore that is why this amount is included in the amount for [redacted] to reimburse us.
