Review: I have an ongoing 6 month billing dispute with WOW. Since 4/1/13 they have been charging my credit card an addtional $100 a month. It took them over 4 months to tell me that I was in a year long training contract! I was not aware I was in a contract at the cost of $100 a month. I did purchase training sessions but paid for them seperatly on my credit card. I've sent over 15 mail messages to HQ of WOW and tried working with the local manager in thier Tinton Falls NJ office. Unfortauntly all customer support inquiries are handled online through our support ticketing system. You can't talk to a real person!! They have been charging my credit card without my authorization for months. so much so, I had to have my credit card company reissue me a new card. just this month they charged my credit card without me knowing $487.00! I'm exhusted and frustrated. here's some background info: I have been a loyal customer of WoW gym for over 4 years know. I even brought in over 5 new members to your gym. While I enjoy the facility I have had an ongoing billing dispute since 4/1/2013. Each time I asked my personal Training agent, [redacted] at your Tinton Falls NJ location to help. [redacted] assured me back in April that this was just a billing error and several others had also been affected. He asked me to give him the time to fix this and contact via email your HQ office. When I got billed the following month for the same amount; $123.27 I asked [redacted] again for status. Each time he's assured me this will be fixed and that he would contact me.... I'm still waiting for a call back from him several months later. I now seeDesired Settlement: They are still telling me that I owe them $$ which I don't. If anything they owe me a refund for the 4 outstanding training sessions I never took but paid for at $50 a piece. I've asked thier office to call me directly to resolve this but they only communicate via email. When I ask a question they just give me the run around - smoke and mirrors etc. I was a very loyal and happy customer of thiers up until this issue. What gives them the right to bill my credit card these $ of money without speaking to me first?

Response:

We have looked into Ms [redacted] situation and according to our records, this has been resolved as satisfactory.

Review: I have sent three tickets in to Work Out World questioning my bill. I have never received a response. During this time the balance outstanding has risen to 171.24 and I still have no explanation.

They will no allow cancellation unless I pay the new outstanding balance.

I would have cancelled my subscription but they did not reply to my tickets.

When I call, you cannot reach them with the "I am a member" selection.Desired Settlement: I want to cancel my membership effective immediately. Expect a phone call or email detailing the charges.

I will not pay for the last two months as I have been waiting to hear back from the tickets during that time.

Our records show we did not receive an inquiry from Ms. [redacted] - [redacted] regarding her membership account. Due to this, her membership remained active and her account was billed in accordance with her agreement with us. At this time, due to her situation, we are happy to waive the balance on Ms. [redacted] – [redacted]’ membership account, and cancel her membership retroactively to 8/31/2013. No further payments are due for Ms. [redacted] – [redacted]’ account. We hope this helps her out and if Ms. [redacted] - [redacted] is looking for a healthy club again in the future that she keeps us in mind!

Review: I had purchased a membership from this location about a year and a half ago, when I purchased my membership I paid for the entire year up front after the year was up I had moved to a different home and was no longer going to use Work out world in general. I called there salesman that signed me up for this membership and he had told me that everything was taken care of and my membership was cancelled out. I than get a phone call in december saying it was not and I need to pay them 65 dollars and change to cancel. None of this was explained to me when I was told that my membership was cancelled now today 9-6-2013 I get a phone call that I am in collections for 194 dollars which is absolutely absurd since I havent stepped foot in a work out world after my year was up. These gyms are completely terrible and the employees including the manager that I spoke with today 9-6-2013 are rude and very uninformative. He even said that "I should just keep my account in collections and let it ruin my credit" is this is a fair statement from somebody represents a major corporation. I should not have to pay these fees for misleading information and now my credit is affected over a year without my notice. I aswell never gave work out world the authority to contact anything with my credit information nor use my social security number on anything since I paid for my membership up front. This is a terrible place and the people should really learn how to do business correctly and helpfully. Most of the Work out world reviews on google/yelp have showed the exact same complaints about cancellation process. This is an issue that is effecting multiple people and is not ok I would like this taken care of imediately and do not want my credit to take effect anymore from this horrible business.Desired Settlement: I would like what ever fees that need to be taken care of washed out to make sure that my account/membership is taken care ofand cancelled. My credit is now effected and the collector that called me should be taken away from my account. It is not fair for false information and I do not want to take this further.

Mr. [redacted] enrolled in a membership agreement with Work Out World that is continual until a cancellation is submitted. Our records show we sent letters to the address on file for Mr. [redacted]‘s membership regarding the balance on his account. Due to his situation, we will remove his membership from collections and his membership will remain cancelled. We hope this helps him out and that if he is looking for a healthy club again in the future that he keeps us in mind!

Review: Hello. On April 29, 2015, I received a letter in the mail of a collection dispute from an in-house lawyer of Work Out World of Middletown, NJ stating that I am in a debt collection for the amount of $168.00 for the account #WOWBK612. I settled this dispute back on January 10, 2006, with my mother, who was on the account at the time due to my age. Yet, they are continuously sending me harassing and threatening mail to my address. Back in 2008, I received a similar letter and sent collection agency the appropriate documentation demonstrating agreed upon settlement has been paid in full and requested they remove this record from their database. They have not followed this request and continue to harass me. I will be attaching supporting documentation into a single PDF file showing in chronological order of the events and actions taken. I am asking that this collection is removed from any and all accounts in their records. I do not need my credit to be affected due to their negligence and shady business tactics of trying to extort more money from me after we agreed to settle the original dispute. Nor, do I need to be harassed from this company going forward.Desired Settlement: They feel like they have the authority to contact me every 2-7 years with threatening and harassing mail on an issue that was already settled. This can be detrimental to my credit score. For this blatant harassment, I want them to remove this collection from their records since and ensure that my credit report is clear from this supposed debt. I should not have to worry about having to pursue legal action to defend something that was already addressed almost ten years ago.

We have thoroughly looked into [redacted] situation. We see that [redacted] was sent to collections in February 2006 for $168 due to non payment. We hope this helps, and when [redacted] is looking for a health club in the future we hope he keeps us in mind!

Review: [redacted]Although I accept the fact that they are taking this off of collections, I would like written proof from Workout World that this account has indeed been closed and I am no longer in collections. That way, I do not have to go through this ordeal another 7 years down the road. This should have been addressed in 2006 when both Workout World and myself settled this dispute. They are making it sound like they are doing me a favor, when in fact, it was their own negligence that this case remained open. I provided numerous documents showing I was not at fault and that the account was specifically settled in full with their collections agency back in 2006. Therefore, I will accept this resolution pending documented proof that the account is closed, my credit has not been affected from 2006 on, and I have been removed from collections.Regards,[redacted]

Review: I bought a day pass last summer, never signed anything, and a year later a collection agency called me and said I owed them over $for a membershipI called WOW Work Out World in New Jersey, and they didn't even have me in the system (proving I never signed up for a membership: i.e., no billing address, etc)They told me to contact WOW Work Out World through email, and the company emailed me back saying I am correct and they will take care of this matter immediatelyI will add this email of their confirmation in the body of this emailThey still haven't taken care of it, and the collection agency calls me everyday, saying this will ruin my creditI've continued to reach out to Wow, but they no longer respondHere is the original emails:WoW Work Out World [redacted]Oct 10to me ## You May Reply Above This Line To Update Your Support Ticket ##Your request (#[redacted]) has been updated. You can add a comment to this ticket and reopen the request by replying to this emai[redacted], Oct 04:PM:Hello [redacted]-I apologize tremendously for any inconvenience this may have caused. The balance has been removed from the collection agencyYou WOW account has also been credited and remains cancelled.Again I apologize for any frustration or inconvenience tis may have caused.Thank you, [redacted], Oct 05:PM:I am a gymnast/contortionist on tour with [redacted], I came into your gym for a day pass with my friend [redacted] (the same thing happened to him)We bought day, as I would never buy a year membership because I am on tour and don't even live in New Jersey, and a year and a half later I was called from a collection agency that I owed $My friend, [redacted], went into the Ocean gym and they found out it was there mistake and that when we signed in for day somehow it went into the membership.I have a lot more emails back and fourth, but the space doesn't allow me to post it here.Desired Settlement: Please, call the collection agency and the bill you promised to pay, it is ruining my credit, and it is also credit card fraud, as I never signed up for a membership

Regards,

Review: I received a phone call today from some attorney's office in New York City. I spoke with Natasha O[redacted] with Crystal M[redacted] Law at [redacted] I explained to Natasha O[redacted] that I would like a bill/statement and documentation sent to me stating that I owed Work Out World $258.28. I was not going to make a payment, until she was able to mail me this documentation supporting that I had such a debt. She told me that it was already sent to me and hung up in my face. I found was rather unprofessional, rude and when I went online to look up this law firm, there was all this information about they are bogies. Also I have never received any types of letters or such documentation stating that I owed this debt from 2013. In fact, this debt is not listed on my credit report which I recently requested. I would like to see all the contract and supporting documentation, that shows that I do this $258.28. I am not able to provide a law office with access to my debit or credit card nor my banking account information until I have proper documentation. There are too many scams going on out there, nor should I have to be threatened and treated the way I was by Ms. Natasha O[redacted]Desired Settlement: I would like this so claimed debt to be removed since I do not owe Work Out World any money and refuse to be getting nasty and threatening messages from some law firm in New York City. When I went on the website, the link to make a payment wasn't not protected by the Revdex.com or anything that make me feel safe. She wouldn't provide me any information, just attitude and that if I didn't set up some sort of payment arrangement, I would regret my decision. If I have outstanding debt, I will be happy to make monthly affordable payments, if the proper supporting documentation can be provided to me.

Response:

We have thoroughly looked into this for [redacted] We see that [redacted] signed up with WoW on July 11, 2012. Since no cancellation was received via certified/registered mail for her membership, her account remained active. Due to no payment being received, [redacted]'s account was sent to collections on 2/25/13 for $258.28. We greatly apologize for the bad experience [redacted] had with the representative from the collections company, as that is never how WOW would treat their former current or future members. Please know that this debt is valid, and if [redacted] would like we can send her proof of her account. Due to the bad experience, we have made the exception to clear [redacted]'s debt and pull her out of collections immediately. We hope that this helps, and if [redacted] is looking for a health club in the future she keeps WOW in mind!

Review: I was a member of Workout World in North Brunswick,NJ since 2011. In November 2014, WoW introduced Cross Training program called XLAB which required additional fee to monthly membership. Also, they had a set schedule for the classes which accomodated my schedules. I was assured by the WoW staff that there will be no changes to the schedules and did NOT give me a chance to read the contract papers fully. They convinced me to signing up for these classes with additional cost of $20 to my monthly membership. At that time, I didnt know that am signing a contract as I wasnt given a chance to read the paper because they told me not to worry about it and just to sign-up for this new class. Since Nov 2014 till March 2014 , the scheduled classes were not occuring and instructors dont show up on the scheduled timings. I have complained to the manager many times but no action was taken. Around mid-March , they completed removed the scheduled early AM classes. When I questioned that, they were very abnoxious and told me they can change these classes whenever they wish to and there is no need to notify the members . But I still need to pay $50 per month (which included $20 additional fee for the class they cancelled). This is totally unethical. I complained this to the corporate office but no action was taken. How can they expect me to pay $50 a month for classes that they cancelled and expect me to pay for something that got cancelled. Thats when they told me about the contract which is till Nov 2015 and I wasnt awaare of all that. Now they are harassing me to pay my monthly dues when I have stopped using this gym due to their dishonestly and unethical practice and no member consideration.Desired Settlement: I do not want Work out World to contact me asking me for payments. I have stopped using their gym since March even though I paid in full for March. But it is Unfair for them to expect me to pay $50 and annual fee when am no longer using their gym. They cannot force their contract on me or harass me to pay due to their dishonestly.

We have thoroughly looked into this for [redacted] We see that in October of 2014, [redacted] agreed to a new 12 month term agreement and was updated to a VIP member. [redacted] is still in term until October of 2015. We see that [redacted] is currently past due in the amount of $160.55. Review: On April 30, my boyfriend and I went to WOW for a free personal training session. After the session, I signed up for personal training with [redacted] from [redacted]. She did not advised me that I have 3 days to cancel for a full refund. She briefly went over parts the contract and rushed me to sign the contact and asked for my credit card. She told me I could cancel anytime or freeze my account if I wanted to. At home, I read the contract and I saw that I had 3 days to cancel ( she never stated that before I signed). I texted her on May 2 to tell her that I needed to cancel the personal training and she stated that she could freeze the account. I once again told her that I have to cancel the account and she stated to wait until Tuesday that canceling the contract would not be a problem ( I have the text saved). I didn't take her word and I summited a request online and went to the gym to cancel the contact. Upon arrival on May 3, I was told there was no supervisor to cancel the account. How does a business not have a supervisor on site? I received a response regarding the request to cancel 3 days later. They told me to go to gym and cancel it. Once again I drove to the gym and was told that [redacted] was not there and there was no one to cancel to contact. Today, May 7, I drove for the last time to the gym and spoke to [redacted]. She told me that I waited too long to cancel the contact. But I did what she said; to wait until she was at the gym to cancel and it wouldn't be a problem and now she is telling me otherwise? She said I can only freeze the training; no thanks. In addition, she told me that I had to pay $100 within 5 days because that was part of the contact. Excuse me? I was never told this when signing on! Why will I get billed again in a matter of two weeks and I am not even scheduled for training? She said its in the contract; that was not explained to me( my boyfriend is my witness he was there when she was going over the contract). Never again with WOW!

We have thoroughly looked into this case regarding [redacted] We see that this situation has been resolved satisfactory from our end. [redacted] was issued her refund check for $157.16 on 05/22/16.

Review: I joined the gym online on 1/27/14, and read through all the fine print. There was no mention of an annual fee, or a price increase at the end of the initial term. That information came in an email that was sent later that night. Upon receiving it, I did not wish to pay those additional fees, so I exercised my option to cancel the membership within 3 days of joining. I sent the cancellation form via certified mail (as instructed) on 1/28/2014. The cancellation form said that the monies would be refunded within 30 days. In early February, my checking account was charged an additional fee for the February dues. I attempted to contact WoW by phone, but was told by the Ocean club that there is no telephone support for this issue - it must be handled through their website's Customer Service Portal. I entered an online service ticket on 2/21/2014. The service ticket said I would receive a response within 72 hours, but usually much sooner. There was no response at all. In early March, my account was charged an additional fee for the March dues. I entered another service ticket on 3/10/2014, but there has been no response. The contract terms stated that, if I cancelled within 3 days using their form via certified mail, my initial deposit would be refunded within 30 days. Instead - they have not refunded the money, not responded to the service tickets, and continued charging my account.Desired Settlement: I believe this business has an obligation per their own contract to refund my initial deposit and all subsequent charges immediately. We are well beyond the 30 day refund date.

According to our records, [redacted] joined the WOW facility online on 1/27/2014 with an initial term of 12 months. At the time of [redacted]'s enrollment, all terms were agreed upon. Each condition of the membership agreement he enrolled on is clearly stated on the website. Our records indicate a 3-day cancellation for [redacted]‘s membership was received 9 days after he had initially joined the facility. At this time, taking [redacted]'s situation into consideration, we have cancelled his membership immediately. There are no further payments due for [redacted]'s membership. We will also go one step further and we will give [redacted] 4 months of membership for free to use at this time or at a later date. We hope this helps [redacted] out and if he is looking for a health club again in the future that he keeps us in mind!

Review: Work out World has improperly accumulated fees. Wow is notorious for charging excessive fees nor do they want to discuss it. I was paying month by month membership in cash - but I had to leave a card on file. (the card expired). I just received a letter from an attorney's office by the name of [redacted] stating that I owe $624.18. This is the first time I received any notice from WOW. I have heard of so many people with the same problem. There should be a class action law suit against them.Desired Settlement: I want all these fees waived.

Response:

We have thoroughly looked into this case. We see that [redacted] is in a 24 month signed contract agreement that began on December 24, 2013. The last payment we received from [redacted] was on February 11, 2014. [redacted] is still in contract with WoW until December 2015. We see that [redacted] has had several memberships with us. In each membership we made the exception and waived multiple fees regularly. [redacted]'s account states that he owes $624.18. At this time we are going to make an exception for him, we value all of our members. We will accept a payment of $188.00 and that will clear [redacted] of his debt and we will pull him out of collections. We hope this help!**

Regards,

Review: The general manager that sold me the membership was dishonest. He told me that the boot camp membership was free for one month and that I should just try it since it is free. I said I did not need it for I would find no use of it, he insisted that I take it since it was free and he never mentioned that I would have to cancel it within a month in order to avoid fees. I never used this boot camp service so I did not think I had to take upon further action. Now I am getting a fee for the first month of this service when I did not even use it. I refuse to pay for a service that was never given to me. Also apart from this fee I tried calling the store to ask for that fee and they told me that on top of that fee I will be charged after 4 months or so for general membership fees. All these statements were in fact in the contract but the contract was not in front of me to view. I constantly asked the manager [redacted] if I would have to pay for any additional fees or anything besides my monthly membership charge of 19.99 to which he said that I would not. I asked several times because I would NOT have signed the contract if there would be any additional fees. I could have easily gone to cheaper gyms for better service but I chose this one for location purposes. I am disgusted by the shady selling practices that WOW carries.Desired Settlement: I want a free termination of my contract and I want to be relieved of all the unfair and secretive fees that are hidden in a contract that you do not show your customers.

Review: I purchased personal training sessions from Workout Word gyms in September 2012. I believed that I had purchased only a limited number of sessions (about 7 sessions), but I have continued to be charged for training sessions that I have not received over the past 13 months. Further, attempts to resolve the issue are handled only through email and service tickets, despite my repeated requested to be contacted by phone to discuss the matter.Desired Settlement: I wanted to be refunded for training sessions for which I was charged, but never received the training. Workout World keeps meticulous track of this information, and I believe this total 18 sessions, valued at $50 per session. Further, the cancellation policy is ridiculous and cumbersome. Although services can be purchased in the gyms themselves, they can only be cancelled in writing, or email service ticket with the corporate office.

Response:

As stated in [redacted] personal training agreement, all training is continual until a cancellation is submitted. At this time, the sessions that [redacted] has been billed for are available on his membership account and we will be glad to allow him to use them. [redacted]'s personal training has been cancelled and he will not be billed for this specific training plan going forward. We hope this helps him out and that he may remain a happy member with us!

Review: I have been a memberp at work out world for a few months and I signed up for personal training sessions and started working out with their trainer [redacted]. I had told him when I began training with him that I had previously had surgery on my ankle. When I began working out with him, the ankle pain began to increase and he recommended new sneakers. I got two new pairs of sneakers and the pain began to get worse. At this point I decided that I no longer could work out. I went to my doctor who stated that I need another surgery on my ankle. I am unable to put strain on the ankle which is why I would like to cancel my membership. Per the contract it states that I can cancel with a doc note which was provided but wow will not allow me to cancel. I tried contacting the company over and over again. I emailed them numberous times. I emailed 5 times and no one got back to me. Per the website it states that they will get back in 24-48hrs. All I want is for them to cancel my membership. I asked what information they need for me to cancel and no one has gotten back to me. I spoke to the manager at wow and he said a doctors note would be sufficient yet it's not. i'm at a point where I don't know how to get rid of this company. I no longer use their services and have not for almost two months. I just want them to allow me to cancel so I can put it past me. I asked for them to call me but no one calls me. it's so hard for me to get a response via email. I spoke to managers at the gym and they are no help either. I've been going in circles for over a month to cancel this membership that keeps lingering. Please help me get through to this business. I have all the emails I have sent them, along with the doctors note, cancellation form and letter of cancellation.Desired Settlement: I would like for the company to allow me to cancel my membership. I have numerous people who can vouch that I have been trying to cancel this membership for over a month.

According to our records, on 7/16/2013 Ms. [redacted] enrolled in a personal training agreement with an initial term of 12 months. As stated in Ms. [redacted]‘s agreement with us, her personal training will become eligible for cancellation upon completion of the initial term of her agreement with us. At this time, we will be glad to freeze Ms. [redacted]‘s personal training and membership at $0 per month until she is ready to come back and use the club, or Ms. [redacted] may pay 10% of her total personal training contract price. The total comes to $327.70, which may be split up into 3 monthly payments of $109.23. We hope this helps Ms. [redacted] out!

Review: In September of this year I submitted a cancellation request by certified mail and subsequently received acknowledgement that it was received and that my membership would be terminated on October 31st. On September 28th I paid my final due of $32.05, which is reflected in my records with the gym. On October 1st I checked my bank account and noticed that he gym had initiated a debit of $205.25 to my account. This now appears as a credit on my membership account. I contacted a customer service number and got a voice recording advising that someone would contact me. I left my contact information but never received a call. I also sent an email to the gym on October 2nd and received a ticket number [redacted], acknowledging my inquiry. No one contacted me. This morning I contacted my bank and filed a dispute against the charge. I was advised that the process would take 10 business days. This matter has inconvenienced me greatly, as I do not have access to money that was earmarked for other use. I honored my obligation and should not have had to wait for three days for an explanation as to why the money was withdrawn. I would like you to use your good office to investigate this for me as a matter of great urgency.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive a prompt refund of my $205.25 as well as a letter of explanation and apology.

Review: I am trying to cancel my gym membership due to medical restrictions. I am following the procedures listed in the cancellation policy, but I have not received any resolution in a timely manner.

They just continue charging my credit card. When attempting to resolve the issue in person, I was redirected to fill out a customer cancellation request on a computer station in the Gym via email. This is not the first time this was attepmted. Srtill no resolution.Desired Settlement: I just want to cancel my Gym Membership. I do not want to be charged on my Credit Card. I do not want to be sent to a collection agency if I stop payment on the Credit Card.

Review: The company lied to about 1.00 enrolment and 20.00 month special offer. They called my house at night because rare one time special prom was ending and the only way to take advantage was to lock me in before they closed at 9:00. I was told The only way to get the deal was let him charge my card right then and pick contract next morning. First red flag was the next day I see the same promotion advertised on front door saying two days left. Then I’m told it's only 20.00 a month, no hidden fees, no processing fees,no surprises, no additional sign up fees, just 20.00 a month. But he ask for my card again because charge he had to have the night before failed to go through. I said I did not want a card charged, that I would pay cash. He assured me it would never be charged , that it was for validation and that all new contracts had to have fist payment on card . I pay the 1.00 enrollement 5.16 for prorated days left in the month and 20.00 for the next month . And the employee says I’m good until the following month. But they hit my card 7 days later with another 20.00 charge, and sets off overdrawing my account. When I call they say the 20.00 I paid on the day I joined was not for first month but for the last month of contract. Another person says it’s a processing fee .Manager avoids my calls, nobody will set things right, so I call 10 day after I joined and cancel my contract . I called the gym 5 times to cancel each time I was told something different. Now they are trying to make it look like I didn’t hold my end up, that I broke the deal.Desired Settlement: I canceled the contract because they lied about details, they lied about the promotion, they lied about the charges, and they charge my card without authorization. When I originally called to say the money the deducted could be considered the next month they refused. When I ask to speak to manager, I was promised a return call. They called often when trying to get me too joined, never returned my calls when I was dissatisfied. You can't reach the company to tell your side of the story. They should refund all the money I paid which is 47.99 and take responsibility and understand I canceled, and I don’t have a membership with them. They now have debt collectors threating me and ruining my credit report. I want them to remove all charges remove me from collections and leave me alone

We have thoroughly looked into this situation. The signed contract agreement we have with [redacted] is for 2 years, beginning March 25, 2014. Before he signed this contract he came to the club to read it and submit his license and debit card so we can make a copy and keep it on file. WoW never received an attempt to cancel either. If [redacted] would like to come to an agreement on how we can go about fixing this debt with us, he can email me directly at [redacted] and I will be happy to assist him in moving forward. We hope this helps!**

Review: I joined Workout World few months ago along with my wife. Now I am trying to cancel my membership since I am moving overseas but they are making it so complicated intentionally so that they can keep charging me ever month. Its been almost 4 weeks since I've been trying to cancel my membership but there has been absolutely no updates what so ever from the Workout World. I signed up for this membership at the Menlo Park Mall but they said for cancellation I have to mail a cancellation form to their main office located in Wall, NJ. I did exactly how I was told and mailed the cancellation form for me and my wife but never received a confirmation. I also gave them a copy of the receipt for the certified mail at the front desk. I spoke to the front desk many times about if they have received my form but every time they checked my account and said there is no such updates about the cancellation in their system and they can't do anything about it. I was told to either email or speak to the GM on Mondays. I also emailed them but never received any reply. I also asked them if your head office at Wall, NJ have any contact number but strangely they said no. Since I requested my membership to be cancelled last month, therefore October should have been my last month but instead the charges for deducted from my account for Oct and now the front desk guys are saying that most probably Nov will be my last month. I am leaving on end of Oct and every time I ask them if my account has been cancelled they said they have not received any updates.Desired Settlement: I want Workout World to reverse the charges from my account for the Month of October, 2013 and inform me if my cancellation form has been received or not.

We have thoroughly looked into this case. On October 18, 2013, [redacted] membership was cancelled when we received his request. Since this was after October 1st, he was responsible for October's dues. His contract was terminated.

Review: I sent a ticket to Wow regarding freezing my account and the personal training. October and November came around and after reviewing my credit card my I was charged two $500.00 charges. I contacted the gym again via support ticket and was told by [redacted] that they never received the ticket and they will not refund my money. She advised me that my account was finally frozen in December 1, 2013. The day I sent my original ticket was the last day I even attended the gym. After emails back and forth of me requesting a refund I requested to speak to a manager, of course I received no call or email from a manager let alone did I receive a response back from [redacted]. I sent another response to [redacted] and once again did not hear back from her. I then sent another support ticket requesting I speak to a manager, days later I received a response from [redacted]'s supervisor. She again advised me my membership was credited for November training sessions but I am not entitled to a refund as no support ticket was received. In between these tickets I even reached out to the gym themselves via phone and was told they cannot do anything for me regarding billing issues. All I want is for my money to be refunded for the two months I was charged when my account was supposed to be frozen. I do not wish for any sessions to be credited to my membership as I am cancelling my membership due to this ridiculous ongoing situation.Desired Settlement: Ultimately I want my $1000.00 refunded and my membership cancelled as I will never be attending this gym again after this ongoing frustrating situation.

At this time, we have thoroughly investigated [redacted] situation. Our records show the initial request to freeze [redacted] membership was on 11/27/2013. Due to this, his membership was frozen beginning 12/1/2013. We have no record of receiving a request to freeze [redacted] membership prior to this date. [redacted] should have received a confirmation to the freeze request if the request he is referring to was received. [redacted] may use the personal training sessions he was billed for at a later date and we will be glad to extend the expiration date of these sessions. We hope this helps him out and that he will remain a happy member with us!

I am rejecting this response because:

I did forward a freeze for my account, it seems that this business as I read on Revdex.com seems to never receive a lot of the requests sent. Its very odd that a freeze was received on 11/27 because I did not forward a new one. I do not wish for any personal training sessions to be credited to my account because I no longer wish to ever attend this gym again. All I want is a refund for the two months I was charged for a personal training when my account was supposed to be frozen (as if reviewed I did not even use my membership or the personal training for those months) and my membership to be terminated. It is not my issue that this gym constantly claims they do not receive tickets and refuse to refund monies. I would like a prompt response to resolve this matter otherwise I will have no other option but to continue pursuing legal actions against this company.

Regards,

Response:

Our records show the initial request received to freeze [redacted] membership was on 11/27/2013. This request was received to us by an employee at [redacted] home club. As mentioned, [redacted] should have received a confirmation to the freeze request he submitted once it was processed if the help ticket was received through our online support system. [redacted] membership'is frozen until further notice. The personal training sessions on [redacted]‘s membership are available for use and as mentioned, we will be glad to extend any expiration dates of his sessions if they expire before use.

Review: I was just charged with a fee and im not certain I understand why. Most machines don't function properly. They are filthy as well. Showers need to be cleaned. The theater room NEVER has anything on unless you ask someone at the front desk to put it on. So please explain the fee I was charged? If its for maintenance, then you need to come look at your machines.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of the charge. I would also like for the place to be CLEAN!! and a months free service for all these simple things that should be always taken care of.

Response:

We have thoroughly looked into this for [redacted]. The Annual Membership Fee is stated on the first page of your membership agreement, and it is clearly disclosed. If you take out your membership agreement, it is stated under the heading "about this membership" and states," an annual membership fee of $49.99 will be assessed to your membership and billed once per year starting at month **4[redacted] of your membership and then annually thereafter..." We would never not disclose or hide anything from our members. We see that [redacted] was charged this fee on 4/1, and will be charged every April moving forward. We do not issue refunds for this fee. Work Out World works around the clock to ensure each member has the best experience a health club has to offer, and we thank [redacted] for being a caring member by bringing her concerns to our attention

I am rejecting this response because:How about addressing the filth and your broken machines that I had mentioned in the complaint? I am fully aware of the terms and conditions of your contact which outlines the fees involved. I don't remember signing my name to a contract which stated that those fore mentioned fees would also be accompanied by dirty machines, broken machines and unresponsive staff? Also, check out your showers as well , not so clean. Maybe the board of health would like to take a visit. I do have photos that I will going to submit. The initial point of my complaint was to address the broken equipment (which was repeatedly reported) the uncleanliness of the facility (which was repeatedly reported) I find it INSULTING at best that you have ignored the actual complaint and have chosen to address only the fees. I would now DEMAND the removal of the maintenance fee and a promise that the malfunctioning equipment and over all conditions of your facility be corrected. In the event that that doesnt happen, I will be cancelling my membership. There are plenty of other gyms in this area and I hear that a BRAND NEW CLEAN [redacted] will be opening. In fact, I may start letting any and all who will listen that a BRAND NEW CLEAN gym is soon to be opening.
