Review: I arranged to have a gym membership for a total of three months and was explained by the end of the second month I would have to notify the gym so the cancellation could be carried out. I had to send a certified letter twice to Gold's Corporate P.O.Box. I found that when I would call the gym facility they never had the correct representative there and they only offered a short time period when the person could be reached (on one occassion I called the hours were 11-4 and when I called at 3 no one was available). I thought the headache of this gym membership was over yet I come to find that they have debited my account twice. When I called the only person was not available and I could not speak to any opther manager on staff to help resolve this issue. Gold's Gym Oxnard has a beautiful facility however the staff and customer service is horrible. They make it almost impossible to cancel a membership.Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded for the two times Gold's gym debited my account. The total amount is 200.00

I apologize for your past experience with trying to cancel your membership. I do see you were provided the cancelation information in March of 2013. As of today I have refunded you for the 10/02/13 draft from your account it went back to Visa ending in 6302. As for your 07/13 draft if you can provide me with the certified return receipt from when you sent in your cancelation letter and its prior to your 07/13 draft I can credit that back to you as well. As of now you have been discontinued due to non-update of your information not becasue we have your cancelation letter on file. For your future reference Customer Service is available M-Fri from 9:00AM-5:00PM. I am part of the Management Restructuring that Gold's did to improve Customer Service and have been with them since April if I can be of any further assistance pleae feel free to reach out to me. I look forward to helping you resolve your membership concerns.

As previously stated if you can provide me with the Certified Return Receipt I will be more then happy to refund your July payment if the dates all correspond. Again I apologize for circumstatnces involving your cancelation. I would suggest contacting the post office to see if they may have record of you sending the letter.

I am rejecting this response because: As I mentioned before I do not have the return certified receipt. I have contacted the post office and since I do not have a tracking number they cannot help me. I would hope in good faith since I did not go to your gym past the allotted time I should not be charged. I submitted my documentation on time and like I previously mentioned I never thought it would escalate to this and thought my membership would be cancelled once my certified letter was sent. Also, could you please verify that I will be a cancelled member and in the future not have to worry about my account bring debited.

Review: I am current member if the Gold Gym in Oxnard - and pay for the Gym membership six months at a time.I was told a few weeks ago that my personal information will need to be update for marketing purposes. When I went to update my personal membership - I was given a form with a lot fine print and was being forced to sign it. Basically they were telling me that I had to change my membership from month to month. When I protested that this is not what I was told - they said they would not allow me into the Gym - even though I told them my membership is ending in August and I would be more then happy to negotiate the term of membership then.With a lot of grudge I filled out the form and gave it to the Accountant (Michele).And now they are wanting to see the duplicate and if I do not show it to them they would not let me in.The owner of the Gym -says that he can cancel my membership - I told him I HAVE NOT MADE PROVISIONS AT ANOTHER GYM - SO IT IS UNFAIR TO CAN CANCEL A MEMBERSHIP. Especially if they require us to give a one month notice if members need to cancel there membershipsCan Revdex.com help me out with this situation ?Desired Settlement: Need to finish my membership - WITHOUT GETTING HASSLED WITH PAPERWORK I AM NOT CARRYING. Review: I have been trying to cancel 3 contracts with this facility for over two months with no luck. My contracts ended 12/2014, and as of 1/06/2015 they took out an outomatic payment from my account.Desired Settlement: Need to get my money back, and NO more taking money out from my account.

Review: I signed up for a year contract, and I let them know I was in the military when I signed up. They said that was no problem and I could cancel or freeze my account at anytime. So I signed up for a month to month contract. I went the whole year and then I was deployed. I talked to them and let them know I was deploying and the still auto renewed my contract. I have been fighting with them for months to cancel my contract and sent numerous deployment letters to them. I even called multiple times and they were very rude and not helpful at all. I know a lot of people that I work with in the military having the same problems.Desired Settlement: Reimbursed for the months that I was being charged for after my contract expired and I tried to cancel it.

On September 24, 2013 Mr. [redacted] sent an email to me requesting to be cancelled as you can see from the attached emails Mr. [redacted] sent the email to the incorrect address. My email is [redacted]@goldsgym.net Not Michelle.roger. On October 1,2013 I received an email from [redacted] who is also on deployment with Mr. [redacted] forwarding me the information to cancel Mr [redacted]. I have attached 3 emails showing all correspondence between myself and the member at hand.

Review: I had cancelled my membership in the month of April. I spoke to former employee named [redacted]. She assured to me that my account was up to date. And that I was supposed to receive a letter in the mail regarding my membership cancellation. I last attended the gym in April. My father is very ill and between taking care of him and work I had no time to attend the health club. Recently they run a unauthorized charge for the amount of $194.00 on 5/17 I have spoken to Michelle director of billing. She has refused to resolve this problem with me. I explained to her the situation she said she would get back to me with a response. So far she has not contacted me. And whenever I call the gym, she won't take my calls. I have contacted the bank and reported this to them as a un-authorized transaction. They are charging me for the membership and several fees. From what I have read on Yelp this seems to be a pattern with Gold's gym. Please I would like to get help in resolving this issue with Gold's. At this point that money was appointed to household utilities which are a priority at this moment, and for these people to empty my account without permission is wrong. I would like to mention they never bother to call me to say I owed anything instead they waited until they accumulated enough charges that are not legit, and ran my debit card several times without my consent.Thank you![redacted] ###-###-####Desired Settlement: I would like Gold's gym to refund those charges back to my account and do the right thing.

I have spoke to the consumer on several occasions. He has had issues with his account since he began his membership. His dues are continually coming back NSF . The consumer will come in clear up his account and Golds Gym will waive his NSF charges for him. On 3/7/2013 Joel stated his wallet was stolen and he would need to change his billing information which was done on 3/8/2013 we bill him based on the account inforamtion he has provided to us. When I spoke to him he stated that was the account his mortgage came out of we entered the billing based on the information provided to us by the member. The consumer has also been provided information on the steps to cancel his memberships.

I am rejecting this response because:

this is not completely accurate I was supposed to be contacted by [redacted] with a response from his supervisor and she never did! The constantly change management and employees they are not well trained that is the reason why there are continuous complains about the gym and the management because they do not take their customers seriously! I am NOT the only person that has encountered problems in regards to this subject with this particular business I know several people! I provided all of the info I was requested by Michelle and the other employees.it is not my duty to train them how to do their job and procedures I should not be told one thing buy one employee in a completely different thing by another one at a different time this is an ongoing problem I will take this further they are obviously not willing to cooperate which is very sad considering I'm a loyal customer.it is against the law to run several accounts at the same time without the customers permission which they did not have once I provided one account number they should have deleted the other that's the way it works that's why I provided the info several times not only that you're supposed to have you sign a waiver they did not do that every time.the reef used to take responsibility for their mistakes the screwed up my account with a different account numbers that I provided it's not that difficult.so please Michelle do the right thing as a customer I did absolutely nothing wrong.

When I spoke to the consumer I gave him the name of the General Manager. He stated to me he would be contacting him due to the fact he wasn't happy with my answer. I can follow up with the GM myself if this would help in resolution to the issue for the member
