World Market Inc.

Review: World Market advertises large furniture pieces (bookcases, media centers, etc.) as one price on their website and in-store. However, when I recently tried to buy a piece for that price in the store, I was told World Market has a new policy where they do not carry the larger furniture items in stock, and I would have to special order the item from the warehouse for a 25% markup. That means my $400 advertised price item was suddenly $500. I asked the employee why then they would advertise it for the lower price, and he said that this is a new policy, and the advertised price does not include the shipping cost from the warehouse. This is not only dishonest, it is a misrepresentation to the customer that is driving around, trying to buy an item for the price it was advertised for. It's a blatant bait and switch advertisement, and earlier today I wrote World Market an email voicing my unhappiness, notifying them that I would be contacting the Revdex.com.Desired Settlement: I want them to either change the store policy, so that they have to carry items advertised for the price advertised, or they must include the warehouse shipping cost in the price. Their business practices are misleading to the customer and simply not fair.
