We are very sorry that our company explanation as to why this pricing error was not a "bait and switch" scheme fell short of the guests expectations. We once again would like to apologize for the distress and inconvenience we have caused her. *** ***Holz Motors, Inc

Holz Motors-Watertown. The math that was used to arrive at the Buick Enclave
pricing shown on our Holz Motors-Watertown website beginning on December 1st was as follows:MSRP $49,625Holz discount - less $2556Buick December Holiday Event 15% off MSRP incentive - less
$7444Price $39,625Sometime between our December 1st dealership
price load and the guest seeing the vehicle on our Holz Motors-Watertown
website on December 3rd, General Motors third party digital administrator
performed an automatic price update on vehicles that qualified for the Buick
December Holiday Event 15% off MSRP incentive. The math was erroneously changed
to the following:MSRP $49625Buick December Holiday Event 15% off MSRP incentive - less
$7444Buick December Holiday Event 15% off MSRP incentive - less
$7444Price $34,737The General Motors third party digital administrator
automatic price update to vehicles affected under the Buick December Holiday
Event 15% off MSRP resulted in the erroneous removal of the $2556 Holz
discount, left our original $7444 Holiday 15% discount in the math, and
erroneously subtracted an additional $7444 Holiday 15% discount from the math. We
believe the General Motors third party digital administrator automatic price
update took place in the very early am hours of December 3rd.Our Holz Motors Watertown sales representative did offer to
sell the vehicle to the guest at the $39,625 pricing, but not at the erroneous
$34,737 price temporarily displayed due to the programing errors created
between our manual Holz Motors Watertown website pricing of this vehicle and
General Motors third party digital administrator automatic price update. Holz
Motors Watertown Sales Representative [redacted]’s description of his phone
conversation with the guest is attached along side this attached company
response. The vehicle this guest was interested in has been sold and
delivered to a different guest. We would be more than happy to try and find
another Enclave at a different Buick dealership that qualifies for the Buick
December Holiday Event 15% MSRP pricing. We only had one Enclave at our
dealership that qualified for that special incentive. If we could find a
comparable Enclave with an identical MSRP of $49625 that qualifies for the special
incentive and if we are able to trade for it from the other Buick dealership,
we would duplicate the $39,625 price that included a Holz discount and the
Buick December Holiday Event 15% off MSRP incentive, plus we would subtract an
additional $500 goodwill adjustment. We need to emphasize that the select Enclaves
under the Buick December Holiday Event 15% off MSRP incentive program are hard
to locate and trade for, so we cannot guarantee that we will be able to
successfully complete a trade and structure an ultimate transaction for this
guest. But we will try as hard as we possibly can if that is what the guest
would like us to do. The sooner we would have direction to proceed the better
chance we would have of securing a select vehicle before the program ends on
January 4th, 2016. As a final alternate of choice, if the guest intends to
purchase an Enclave elsewhere, Holz Motors Watertown will process a goodwill
check in the amount of $500 made payable to the guest to help with their
purchase elsewhere. We offer this alternate of choice as an option due to the
inconvenience we caused this guest.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]i am not and was not looking for money from the dealership. I respectfully decline to invitation to buy a vehicle of any sorts from them as I do not feel that they would be fair and honest in their business practices. I reviewed their response and while they admitted that the price was incorrect they still failed to sell at this price and instead offer other options.
Wisconsin Statutes section 100.18 prohibits deceptive advertising and sales practices, including “bait and switch” practices. In a typical “bait and switch” scheme, a seller offers an attractive bargain on an advertised item. But when the customer responds to the advertisement, the seller disparages the advertised item or states that it has “sold out.” The seller then attempts to sell a substitute item at a higher price. This law is supposed to protect consumers from this exact situation happening and I do not believe that this dealership realizes this. It is unfair and illegal! There was a lot of fine print attached to their supposed resolution which I find ridiculous!!
