Inc.Dear
Mr***:My client, World Truck Towing & Recovery, Inc("World
Truck"), has forwarded your correspondence pertaining to your above-referenced
client.World Truck has reviewed the matter with its
Columbus manager who indicated that while he remembers the telephone call with
your client, there was never any assertion that World Truck would pay for the
repairs or that the repairs would be covered by the warrantyHe specifically
recalls discussing how while the transmission is covered by a warranty, World
Truck must look at the condition in order to determine whether or not the
alleged damage would be covered by the warrantyIf it was not covered by the
warranty, then World Truck would provide an estimate for the necessary repairs
Unfortunately, there was no opportunity provided for World Truck to inspect the
transmission in order to ascertain the applicability of the warranty.Based upon the facts known by World Truck, World Truck denies any
liability for the payment asserted by your client. If you should have any
questions, pleas do not hesitate to contact me.David

Preface:World Truck Towing & Recovery, Inc. takes its emergency responder responsibilities to the public and police very seriously. We are NOT a taxi, Uber, Lyft, or a limo service…and we are especially not on a night full of police calls and real emergencies. Anyone who feels as though they...

should not be behind the wheel of a car driving due to safety concerns for themselves or others should discontinue operating a vehicle and get to a safe location. We would recommend parking the car in a safe place and possibly calling a friend to come get them, calling for a taxi or Uber, and or possibly getting a hotel room until the driver feels they are once again able to operate the vehicle responsibly. To Whom It May Concern:On the night of December 14th, 2017, the weather in Seville Ohio was poor with heavy snowfall and freezing temperatures. It was the first real heavy snowfall of the year, and the World Tuck dispatch lines were ‘ringing off the hook’ with emergency calls. People were freezing in broken down inoperable vehicles on the side of the road, accidents were occurring all night due to ice, and tractor-trailers were rolled over causing congestion on the highways. In short, true emergencies were happening. It is our duty as emergency responders to prioritize our calls and assist those in true life-threatening situations and emergencies first and foremost. At 12:41 a.m., Ohio State Patrol called World Truck Towing and Recovery dispatch after calling multiple other tow companies that declined to assist. In the words of the driver, “the police called different companies for me.” They asked if we were available to tow a 1997 White Mercedes that was pulled over on the side of highway 76 East by mile marker 6 which was approximately three miles from a major exit that included safe venues and hotels. No police were on scene, and the car was in no way disabled. The OSP dispatcher informed us that the driver of the Mercedes was scared to drive in the snow and would like to be towed to safety, and he also informed OSP that his phone was running out of battery and that is why he called OSP instead of a tow company directly. Neither the OSP dispatcher nor World Truck knew at the time the destination that the Mercedes owner wish to be towed to. At that time, we deployed a tow operator to the scene. At 1:48 a.m., the World Tuck operator arrived at the location where the driver was waiting. At that time, the driver then informed us that he wanted to be towed approximately 70 miles to Youngstown, Ohio. He also informed us that he had a final exam to get to in the morning and fell asleep in the tow truck after his car was hooked and they were moving. Please keep in mind, the driver’s car was fully operable. After approximately 40 miles, the roads were looked much better and were completely dry and clear of snow and ice. World Tuck dispatch then called to ask the driver if it would be alright if he drove the rest of the way to his destination. This was done due to a large number of emergency and police calls that were coming in to World Truck where the tow operator was truly needed. Then the World Truck tow operator pulled over into a well-lit safe location to explain to the driver that the roads were now clear. In addition, he explained to the driver that World Truck was getting numerous police calls for true emergencies and asked if it would be alright if we left him at this safe location. The owner pushed-back and said he was willing to pay, but failed understand that true emergencies and life treating situations took priority that evening. Both the World Truck operator and dispatch tried explaining this to him. He then tried saying that he couldn’t drive because he had a taillight out. At approximately 4:04 a.m., he then agreed, paid his bill, his car was un-hooked, and he drove away. The customer was only charged for the distance he was taken. The driver then proceeded to his destination, and once he arrived called to tell dispatch that he wanted a case number to file a complaint. He also mentioned calling back the next day or driving all the way back to World Truck in Seville to resolve his complaint and speak with a manager. Dispatch asked him to call back during normal business hours when management would be happy to help. He agreed. The driver was only charged for the distance he was taken and the services provided. ~ World Truck Towing & Recovery, Inc.
