This is in response to the customer complaint concerning the VW We are concerned that his paint is blistering We are willing to get that corrected at a bodyshop of our choice Concerning the mechanical issues We paid the bill to have the van fixed by another shop that he chose That shop was supposed to be the expert for these engine types As far as the new engine, the engine block is a rebuilt block with externals from the engine that was removed Concerning the brakes, the customer requested us to keep costs at a minimum We did our best to satisfy that requirement We do not want an upset customer We have not heard from this customer since we paid the bill for the other shop who worked on the engineMost classic car restorations cost well over $25K The paint portion of this workscope was $ The majority of the other costs was for the engine block itself The engine supplier was approved by the customer

Second the problem is internal in the motor not external . Battery replaced and started they said it was dragging because they had timing 180 degrees off that was the cause not bad. Started battery.there invoice states replace front brakes pad rotors and bearings that a brake job why do they not work properly. Over tighting of rotors warps'!!!!!!!!!!! Rotors as far as paint was told they would rope window gaskets sand repair and paint . Pictures I closed. In a nut shell they said they where vw mechanics and not one there really knows much. That is why they had to buy a manual to try to figure it out.I will be willing to accept refund of 1804.00 for paint job and 2274.00 plus 275.00 started and 153.00 battery all not needed because of inadequate mechanics. I have a 30 plus year vw certified mechanic .

This is in response to the customer complaint concerning the 85 VW.  We are concerned that his paint is blistering.  We are willing to get that corrected at a bodyshop of our choice.  Concerning the mechanical issues.  We paid the bill to have the van fixed by another shop that...

he chose.  That shop was supposed to be the expert for these engine types.  As far as the new engine, the engine block is a rebuilt block with externals from the engine that was removed.    Concerning the brakes, the customer requested us to keep costs at a minimum.  We did our best to satisfy that requirement.  We do not want an upset customer.  We have not heard from this customer since we paid the bill for the other shop who worked on the engine. Most classic car restorations cost well over $25K.  The paint portion of this workscope was $1800.  The majority of the other costs was for the engine block itself.  The engine supplier was approved by the customer.
