They misrepresented the form of the title that we received. They said we would receive a clean title and we received a title "Manufacturer buyback". Secondly, they were unable to provide us with a bill that was acceptable to the DMV in CT. We ended up paying taxes on[redacted] even though we had paid only[redacted] When we complained to them the response of the owner was, "this is the only bill they have used or 33 years."When we showed them the state rule they still did not provide us with an improved bill.Product_Or_Service: SUVDesired SettlementPartial refund of value lost and a bill that is acceptable to DMV in CT.Business Response To the Revdex.comThis is in response to a complaint from Case # XXXXXXEnclosed is a chain of email correspondence between Worthington Air automotive and[redacted].As you can see there was a degree of frustration on both parties.I did state in my last email that I have been using this invoice for 24 years but I was incorrect We have been using the same invoice since 1981, for 34 years, and never had an issue. We have used this invoice in ALL 50 states and off shore as well. We have sold many vehicles to buyers in Ct, including 2 since last Nov.2013 with the same invoice. I do not know if possibly an incorrect Ct registration form was used by [redacted] indicating it was not purchased from an out of state dealer, but from an individual party. As a Massachusetts dealer we cannot provide a Ct registration form. I did send her a check for [redacted] in good faith, to alleviate her loss of the[redacted] sales tax she was erroneously over charged by the state of **.We have well over 6 man hours attempting to remedy this problem, not including driving to [redacted] to deliver her paper work.[redacted] and [redacted] purchased a 2013 Honda CRV EX with sunroof and only 1987 miles for [redacted]. It was a manufacturers buy back and the title was clearly stated as such. There were disclosers that were signed indicating so as well. There is also a separate warranty on the issue (stalling) from Honda with the disclosure. If this vehicle was sold with a non branded title, the price would have been around the [redacted] range.I honestly feel that we were very good to [redacted] and [redacted].Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)If they were honest then their invoices would be more than just xeroxed pieces of paper and acceptable at all DMV's. Additionally, they are changing their story about the "clean title", both him and his other [redacted] repeatedly told us the title would be clean. All they need to do is give us an invoice that represents the value and the taxes. [redacted]. These things would have been of less importance if the invoice and the title that we received after rgistration had been what they said. In this case their business books should be reviewed by the state of MA closely for tax evasion.
