Wrinkle Butt's Bulldogs Reviews (1)

[redacted], thank you for your time and direction. Following you will find official standing of Wrinkle Butt's bulldogs in concern to Mrs. [redacted]'s complaint. On may 21st 2017, wrinkle butts bulldogs was contacted via phone by Mr. [redacted] inquiring about a 7 month old male bulldog...

puppy that we were still looking for his forever home. After a lengthy conversation about their home life, their current 2 yr old male bulldog, our experience in bulldogs, and of course the puppy they were interested in, they wanted to meet with us that day to see if their older bulldog got along with this 7 month old pup before purchase. We gladly agreed and made arrangements to meet at a dog park for both animals safety as they were both adolescent males. We spent 2 hours in that park with the dogs, allowing them to investigate each other as well as see how they react to other dogs in the park. Both boys got along fine, in fact their dog was acting slightly aggressive towards a third party dog while totally accepting this bulldog puppy. It was mutually decided by the [redacted]'s to add the puppy to their family. As always, when we place a puppy with its family we include a folder with all of the puppy's appropriate documentation including contract, health guarantee, registration papers, health records, receipts, etc. Every page in this folder is read aloud to prospective buyers before purchase or exchange of any monies, then contract is signed in duplicate by both parties(each retaining a copy). This case was no different, and Mrs. [redacted] did sign acknowledgement of being read the contract and health guarantee as well as signed the contract in duplicate. Not once prior to sale did the [redacted]'s disclose that they would like a "trial" period, otherwise that could have been discussed in further detail before the exchange of ownership. The next morning we received a call that things went well on night one, and that they were headed to the pet store to pick up the new puppy some new toys and food. On may 23rd 2017, 2 days after purchase, we received multiple frantic phone calls stating that they can't keep the puppy, we have to take him back that evening because their 2 yr old bulldog refuses to sleep or eat, that the puppy is very well behaved, housebroken, and a great dog but their dog was there first and it breaks their heart to see him not sleeping or eating for 2 days. We agree to take the puppy back but as per the signed contract, we would not be giving money back. They agreed and met us for pick up when it was explained that it had taken 7 months to find this pup a good home with them, it may take a while before he found his forever family, but when he is placed we would refund whatever funds left, if any, after cost of care and advertising. Both Mr and Mrs [redacted], declared that they didn't care about the money, they only wanted their dog to be happy again. Mrs [redacted] cried the entire time, stating, "If I don't leave now then my husband and dog are going to have to live in the garage while I keep my puppy", feeling immensely heartbroken for Mrs. [redacted], we extended the offer to honor the price paid($1600) for this puppy, $1000 off original price, to a up coming litter that they could choose which ever puppy they liked. Mrs. [redacted] graciously agreed, smiling once again, hugs were exchanged and we parted ways. On June 5th, 2017 Mr [redacted] contacted via text asking if the puppy had been placed yet, to which we replied that he had not, "we have had some bites but most people are looking for a younger 8 week old pup, not a 8 month old pup, even at a huge discount, and all the training complete. We hope to spark more interest when the up coming litter is born." On June 9th 2017, Mr [redacted] responded, "thank you".July 5th 2017, Mr [redacted] contacted via text, again inquiring if the puppy had been placed. We responded that we were on vacation and we had to pay for the puppy to put into the kennel while we were away. We also informed him that the new litter was due in two weeks. He again replied only, "ok, thank you".July 30th 2017, Mr [redacted] contacts via text, "My wife and I spoke and decided that based on how our dog was when we brought the puppy home we think it may be best if we forgo getting a puppy at this time." He also addressed not seeing updated advertisement for the puppy. At this time, We had personal health concerns requiring hospitalization, limiting the amount of time available for the proper care of all our dogs. It was conveyed to the [redacted]'s of the current situation being overwhelming for a single person and that the dogs had been put into the kennel once again while our family recovered and that was the reasoning behind the cease in advertising. We were unable to conduct business do to health reasons, and thus unable to make arrangements for prospective families. We asked for patience during a very tough time, and we would work everything out when things settled. There was no response at that time from the [redacted]'s.August 28th 2017, Mr [redacted] contact via text, "what actions are being taken to sell the puppy?" We responded that the dogs were still in the care of a kennel and it runs $280/week for the puppy to stay there, at this point he had been there for over 4 weeks. Never, did the [redacted]'s offer to sell the puppy themselves, otherwise we could have avoided the cost of the kennel in the first place. No response by the [redacted]'s.On Sept 3rd 2017, contact was made by wrinkle butts bulldogs that the original signed contract stands, that if they so chose, the monies paid would be applied to a upcoming puppy of their choice for the discounted price of $1600. At that time Mr [redacted] claimed to no longer have the contract, insisting he was never provided one, only a receipt, which is untrue as we have the second copy with their signatures. He also informed us that we should consider a time that night for them to come pick up the puppy because "you aren't keeping my dog and my money". It was once again explained that ownership of the puppy was relinquished when they dropped him back off to us, he was not "their" dog and if the puppy was considered so then the fee for the kennel would be his to pay. Mr [redacted] then threatened to contact his lawyer and take it to court, to which we replied that "if you refer to your signed contract and the legal clause it will be all laid out for you". At this point it became clear that they have misplaced their copy as he continued to ask for us to send another to him. After the threat of court, per our attorneys advice, it was not our duty to provide the [redacted]'s burden of proof, we had provided everything at time of sale if they lost it, it was on them. We ceased contact when a mutual agreement could not be made, although we stand behind our word that we would honor a replacement 8 week old puppy to acclimate their dog, which was the reasoning behind the forfeiture of the original puppy in the first place. Replacement puppies are to be given for health guarantees, not changing of the mind, but we felt for this couple and wanted to make everyone happy in the long run. We had no obligation to offer a younger puppy at the discounted rate they paid but were willing to do so as they are good people, we can't help that they continued to change their minds about having a puppy or not having a puppy. They wanted a puppy, decided it wasn't for them, returned him and then expected us to do the work of finding him another home at our cost, despite having it explained to them multiple times. We tried to rectify the situation, but the [redacted]'s are unhappy without a refund, despite signing and agreeing to the contract where it states, "no monetary refunds will be given for any reason at any time". We tried to please the couple, however it couldn't be accomplished.
