Please note that this complaint is not a true complaint about our agency THis client did not call our agency to cancel the policy, as we always advise and reviewThey called the Nationwide # and was handle by Nationwide's service centerWe would have not cancelled the policy without proof of returned plates or advising the insured of the process and issueThis complaint went to Nationwide's Office of Customer Advocacy and I have copied and pasted the response to them belowWe take great pride in servicing and advising our clientsThis complaint is misdirected As well I am trying to get Nationwide to pull the service centers call to see what transpiredPlease let me know if you need any further information as we hope to clear this matter upMY RESPONSE TO THE NATIONWIDE COMPLAINT DATED 5-*-16: Please note that the member did not contact our agency to cancel this policyAs we not only advise that, even when they have a totaled car, and that is the only car on the policy, we ask when will you be getting a new car because if you cancel you will have a lapseThe insured called the # and was serviced by short name, [redacted] ( I have attached his contacts from the system)As well I would like to point out that they cancelled a NY auto with only a signed cancellation form that states insured can't afford itThey did not advise to return plates, or that we cannot cancel with out the [redacted] receipt which documents returned platesWhich is required in NY and fineable by DMV (Also see that form attached)We did not find out that policy was cancelled until it showed up in our Beginning of day! 2-**-As soon as we saw this in beginning of day with the reason, " [redacted] ", our agency reached out to them to make sure they returned plates and left a message ( contact attached) As one should know you get fined in NY for registered plates without insuranceEven a billing call in April was to the ***Until yesterday the insured called to ask for new insuranceand that's when they were informed by us that they only qualified for non standard (Contacts attached) This is a problem with servicesIf someone wants to get permission after pulling the service call from 2-to rewrite the person in standard because they did not handle the call properly and "missed opportunities" to advise, we would be more than happy to rewrite themPlease advise if you need any more information or documentationI hope that this helps to show that the complaint is not about the agencyWe are here to give on your side serviceThank you as alwaysI would appreciate confirmation and please advise results
