Dear Sir or Madam,
On 2/16/11 [redacted] brought a 2000 Cadillac Seville in to our shop to have a used 235/45R20 tire installed on the driver side front. [redacted] was shown the used tire prior to install. The other three tires remaining on the...

vehicle were looked over, and it was noted on her invoice that the passenger side front tire needed to be replaced as soon as possible (due to the tire being worn out) We noted on her invoice that all four of the wheels on her vehicle were scratched, and bent. We also noted on [redacted]'s invoice that her traction control, ABS, and service engine lights were on.
On 2/18/16 [redacted] returned to us with a gash in the sidewall of the driver front tire. We determined the tire was not repairable due to the gash. All used tires we sell have a one week guarantee. We offered her two options, option one we would refund her the price she paid for the used tire of $70.00 and option two we would replace the used tire with another used tire at no charge. After [redacted] selected to have the driver side front tire replaced at no charge to her she decided to purchase another used tire for the passenger side front. We installed two used tires on the front of her Seville, and noted that both front wheels were bent the passenger side front had a broken stud with a missing lug nut, the driver side center cap was damaged and all four wheels were scratched.
On 2/19/16 [redacted] returned to our establishment with a leak coming from the driver side front of her 2000 Seville. The wheel and tire were looked over. This time there was no issue with the driver side, instead the leak was caused by the bend in her wheel. We showed [redacted] the issue with her wheel and informed her that in order to stop the leak the wheel would have to either be straightened out to hold air, or replaced. [redacted] declined to have the wheel straightened or replaced. We offered to try and reseal the wheel to the tire with bead black for a temporary fix at no charge, and she accepted. We informed her and noted on the invoice that the seal could not be guaranteed due to the tire being bent.
The leak coming from the driver side front of [redacted]'s 2000 Cadillac Seville is due to her bent wheel and not the tire she purchased from us. We noted that the wheel was bent on 2/16/16 and 2/18/16. We showed the bent wheel and where it was leaking on 2/19/16. There were no issues with the tires we sold. [redacted] had been told on more than one occasion that her wheels were bent, and she had been shown the leak was due to her wheel and not the tire we sold. Due to the above we feel that a refund is un-warranted and unreasonable.

The customer purchased a tire from Andy Wurm Tire on 3-7-16 per Invoice #[redacted]. Approximately 4 months later (on 7-2-16), the customer ran over a nail and Andy Wurm Tire had already closed for the day. The customer took the tire to [redacted] Auto to have it repaired. [redacted] charged the customer $30 for a...

tire repair, and t he customer asked Andy Wurm to reimburse this amount which was paid to another tire store.When the customer called and asked Any Wurm Tire to pay for t he repair, she was advised that she could have put her spare tire on the car and brought the damaged tire back to Andy Wurm so we could see the tire; and after seeing the tire, we would have gladly repaired or replaced it for free since this is stated in our warranty.At t his time, Andy Wurm explained to the customer that it is not customary for a business to reimburse anything for services provided by another company. Andy Wurm Tire Company is open 6 days a week, and we feel the customer could have brought the tire back to Andy Wurm Tire for repair or replacement.  Sincerely,[redacted]

This letter is in response to Ms. [redacted]'s rejection response.Because we were unable to inspect the vehicle and fuel pump, we are standing by our decision to refuse a credit or refund.  We have many parts suppliers and certainly could have gotten a new factory replacement fuel pump from another supplier if Ms. [redacted] insisted.  Even though it may have been out of warranty, if it was defective we would have replaced the fuel pump at no charge to Ms. [redacted] had she brought it back to us.

Customer brought her 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt to us on April 27, 2015 to have her fuel pump replaced.  We purchased a new (not rebuilt) fuel pump from S & S Automotive and installed it.  A copy of the purchase receipt is attached.Customer returned on February 19, 2016  stating that...

her car was hard to start.  Our mechanic checked the fuel pump and found that the pressure regulator in the fuel pump we installed on April 27, 2015 was bad.  We replaced the fuel pump (at not charge to the customer) with another new fuel pump which was also purchased from S & S Automotive on March 29, 2016.  The Delfi fuel module is a factory replacement part for this vehicle.  A copy of the receipt as well as the return receipt for the original part is attached.The fuel pump was installed correctly by our mechanic.  The part itself was a defective part which unfortunately happens on occasion.  Since we were unable to inspect the vehicle/fuel pump before the customer had the part replaced at Firestone, we did not have the opportunity to rectify the problem.  Therefore, we do not believe the customer is due a refund or credit.All copies of the customer invoices as well as the invoices from our parts supplier are attached.  In addition, a copy of the back of our customer invoice which outlines the mechanical guarantee is included.
