Review: took deer too be mounted on december 2 2013. I was told 6-10 mos. but could take 1 year . stopped in on december 2 2014 he told me he was sure it was done and his wife would call me . waited one week no phone call...icalled them and she informed me she was backed up with work and to please be patient. I asked how much longer it would take, she stated she did not know but would call when finished. it is now october 7 2015. AFTER 22 MONTHS I would like some kind of response. I have never heard of a mount taking this long. very unprofessional.

Review: On November 2, 2013, I harvested first buck ever with a bow and was very excited to get the deer mounted. So I found, WW Taxidermy, through the internet and thought they appeared to be a reputable and a quality taxidermist. I dropped off a 8 point buck to WW Taxidermy on November 10, 2013. I was told that my shoulder mount would be completely sometime in June 2014. So I put a $100 deposit on the mount and anticipated a call from them around June. I waited until June and I received absolutely no calls or no e-mail. I called them multiple times and left multiple messages on their voice mail from June till August. I finally received a call from the owner's wife rudely telling me not to ever call back until they called me back. She then told me that the receipt mentions it can more than 1 year to be completed. So I waited a full year and still they did not contact me. So I called them multiple times without any reply again. Since they wouldn't reply to me, I wrote them an email under the impression of turning in another buck for them to do a shoulder mount. Of course they contacted me that same day since it involved more money for them. I, however, asked about my shoulder mount back in November 2013 and what was the progress. She said she does not know when it will be done and gave me no approximate date on its completion. I asked for my deer back but she claims she partially worked on it and can not return the deer to me. It has been 1 year and 3 months since I turned in my deer. To date, I have not heard any updates and no clue on an approximate completion date. .Desired Settlement: I just want them to finish the job like they said they promised. If it was going to take more than a year then they shouldn't have told me so verbally. If they will not contact me or tell me when it will be completed then I want my deposit back, and my deer back so I can take it to a honest and reliable taxidermist. Since it took so long, their lack of response, and how poorly they treated me, I expect at least $150 off for all my troubles if they do complete the job. There service is unreasonable.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted]. I picked up my shoulder mount from him. At first it looked fine but as I got home I noticed a terrible foot odor like smell coming from the mount. Also he did a terrible job on the top of the deer. It has a ugly mane like on a horse and the top of the deer head looks like a mohawk. I am terribly unsatisfied. I decided I wont deal with this anymore and just take a loss.

Review: On October 23, 2013 I dropped off a pair of shed antlers that totaled 13pts. Along with the sheds, I provided a small buck that I had shot that year during the archery season. I had ordered a shoulder mount with the sheds to be put on the buck. The order was for $335 plus an additional $75 for the sheds for a total of $431.91 after taxes. I paid a deposit of $150 and was told that I could expect to pick it up in the spring of 2014. This was the second time my father had used WW Custom Taxidermy. The first time they had delivered on their promise and we decided to go back a second time.

Just a side note, the sheds were a birthday gift to my father for this 60th birthday. I wanted them displayed on a deer mount believing that my father would enjoy his gift more instead of a wooden plaque.

In the spring of 2014, I had attempted to contact them several times leaving multiple messages with WW Custom Taxidermy. They never returned any of my calls. The last time I attempted to contact them by phone was at the beginning of the 2014 archery season leaving another message with no call back. Out of frustration, I made several trips out to WW Custom Taxidermy in Brookfield and each time the store was closed. To this date I have not received any notice or calls from WW Custom Taxidermy.Desired Settlement: I would like to have my order finished and have WW Custom Taxidermy deliver on their promise. I would like to have them contact me and schedule a date and time to pick up my deer mount as soon as possible. Because of their inability to communicate and poor customer service, I would expect a full refund of $150. I don't believe that an apology and explanation is necessary. Their failure to deliver my deer mount in the last two years is evidence enough of how they view and value their customer.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. In regards to the business response, he wrote:

"1/2 deposit Is required on all work, per our contract which he had signed (we require this on special projects , changing racks, remounts, replacing items etc)He only put down a partial deposit of $150 and we never received the required depositAs our business continues to grow, we always strive to be the best . Customer satisfaction , producing a great product at a affordable price has made our business what it is today !!"I find this statement to be very misleading. If the business required 1/2 deposit before work was done, then why was it not made clear at the beginning. I came fully prepared to pay the full price if I had to. The owner accepted the $150 down payment. He even began work on the deer I provided: removing the cape from the neck and skull and cutting the rack from the skull. Owner could have easily contacted me by phone (I provided my cell and home number) as well as email if a mistake was made on my behalf. I would have easily gone in and paid the rest of the required deposit. Instead, he neglected to mention the 1/2 deposit at the time of signing the contract, neglected to contact me if I did indeed fail to pay 1/2 deposit and neglected to complete my mount after beginning work on it. Who begins work after not getting paid? I paid $150 deposit believing that WW Custom Taxidermy would honor it's contract I had signed and deliver my deer mount within the reasonable time frame they had indicated to me at time of purchase: spring of 2014. The owner also said at the time of pickup that he could not complete the work because he was waiting on a larger cape to put my sheds on. He stated that the base of the antlers of the buck I had provided was too small for the sheds I wanted mounted. Owner said that he was about to mount my sheds on a cape he had just acquired. The cape, valued at $150, would have been done for me "free of charge" as stated by owner. But instead, since I submitted a complaint to the Revdex.com, he decided it was better to "wipe his hands clean of this" and said I can go somewhere else to get my mount done and save him some time. Of course, I provided a smaller buck knowing full well it was too small for the sheds. I wanted the sheds mounted regardless. Instead, he put it away in storage for months. If that had been the case, then why did he not contact me to inform me of this delay in work. Between October 23, 2013 (the date I dropped off my deer/sheds) to February 27, 2015, the owner only attempted to contact me once and that was to pick up my cape/sheds/antlers and only after I submitted a complaint to the Revdex.com.I don't believe WW Custom Taxidermy "strives to be the best" when they clearly are misleading their customers, leaving me very dissatisfied with their work and customer service.I am happy that I got the sheds back. They were a gift for my father. I can accept that. I cannot accept the response made by the business. Buyer beware. I will not be going back to WW Custom Taxidermy. I did not lose anything from doing business with WW Custom Taxidermy. However, WW Custom Taxidermy will lose a lot of business going forward.Regards,

Review: I dropped off a buck I had shot back in January of 2013. I have tryed calling and getting a hold of the customer to see about the progress of the mount but have heard nothing. I put a 150$ deposit down and it has been 3 years and I still have not got my mount back. A family member also dropped off a buck in December of 2014. Same thing no way to contact them and still has not gotten the mount back. I would like my deer back and so would my family member. I think 2 and 3 years is a bit long for mount when I was told 9 months to a year..Desired Settlement: I would like my buck back done well and as soon as possible.

Review: After shooting one of the biggest deer or my life I searched the internet for a good place to take my deer to get mounted. I dropped it off 12-2-2012 with my phone number, address and $160 deposit. They said I should have it back within a year. I have called about once a month for the past 2 years and have never received a response. I have called multiple phone numbers, sent emails and Facebook comments. No response back yet... Would love to get my deer back completed and in good shape.Desired Settlement: I need to get my deer back finished and in "Great condition" like their website says.

Review: I dropped my deer head off at their location at 21100 West capital Drive in Pewaukee to be mounted. I paid the down payment they requested and was told I would be called when it was ready. I was told it should be 6 months to 1 year at the most. It has been 2.5 year and I have not heard from them. I have made numerous calls and still nothing.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive my mount back as it was a trophy and the largest deer I have ever shot in 45 years of hunting.

Review: During the 2013 firearms deer season I was lucky enough to harvest my biggest buck to date. I looked around for a taxidermist who was reasonably priced with a reasonable turn around time. On 11-25-13 I took the head and cape to WW Custom Taxidermy and was told I could expect the work to be completed by June or July 2014. I didn't want to be bothersome by calling or emailing because I figured they had just taken in more work than expected. More than a year had come and gone when I finally sent an email. I got no response. So a few more months had passed and I was going to be out of the country for a while and wouldn't have phone service so I called because the invoice states they can keep your mount if not picked up within 3 days of completion. After a few calls and messages with no response I was finally able to get a hold of them. I was told (in a very rude manner) that my mount wouldn't be done any time soon. It has now been more than a year and 9 months with no word on my mount. This is a completely unacceptable and unprofessional way to run a business.Desired Settlement: I would like my mount completed and in excellent condition as agreed upon

Review: On December 12,2012 I dropped off the 10 point buck I had shot during the 2012 gun deer hunting season to be mounted. At the time I dropped off the deer to be mounted I also made a $300 down payment, which was the total cost of the mount with the tax of $15.30 to be paid upon pick-up. I had originally been told when I dropped off this deer that my mount would be completed by September 2013. I attempted to contact WW Custom Taxidermy over the next few months with little to no solid reply. Finally in spring 2014 I was given an estimate of approximately 2 months which would have been June 2014. When I called back a couple weeks later to set up a pick up time the date was pushed back one month to July 2014. When I called back to set up a pick up time for July 2014 the date was again pushed back to August 2014. When I called back to set up a pick up for August 2014 the date was pushed back to "soon" and I was told that due to a guided bear hunt the work on my deer had been delayed yet again. When I first made contact with WW Custom Taxidermy in the spring of 2014 I was told that the owner of WW Custom Taxidermy and primary taxidermist had suffered a work related injury during 2013 which was significantly delaying work on all projects from 2012 but as I stated earlier they estimated that my deer would be completed by June 2014.Desired Settlement: I would like my mount to be completed in the next two weeks and to be contacted to schedule a date and time to pick up my finished mount within a week from today. I would like a $50 refund for the inconvenience of being forced to wait so long with such poor communication concerning the reason as to why this project was so drastically delayed. If this is not possible I would like a thorough explanation as to why this will not work and a reasonable and timely plan for resolution to be negotiated.

Customer Picked up 10 point Buck, signed for "picked up in satisfactory condition"

Review: On or around September 23, 2013, I dropped of a 6x6 bull elk cape and antlers to [redacted] at WW and paid a $1,000 down payment of the total $1,481 total amount due. She said that it would be around 6-8 months before it was completed and even wrote that on my invoice. I had no issue with that because [redacted] had mounted 4 other animals for me in recent years and normally she was ahead of schedule on the previous mounts. Since this was a nice elk and my first elk, after 6 months came along I was anxious to call [redacted] and see if it was about done. So I called and left her a message in March 2014 with no return call back. I tried several more times from April 2014 through July 2014 with either her mailbox being full or not returning my calls when I could leave a message. I even tried to email her with no response. In late July 2014 I had grown concerned that she may have gone out of business and my animal was lost for good. So in late July 2014 I went to her studio on a Friday afternoon during business hours and no one was there so I left a note for [redacted] to please call me back about my elk. [redacted] did call me a couple days later but unfortunately I missed the call and she left a voice message saying that it would be a little longer because she is behind on work due to a work related injury. I was at least relieved at this point that she was still in business. From the time [redacted] left me the message in July, I did not try to contact her again until the first week of December 2014. I did get to speak with her that day and she told me to expect it back in about two months, which would be the end of January 2015. At that time I asked if I could just come get the cape and antlers back so I could take somewhere else. Her response was that the cape had been mounted, but since I requested the antlers be detachable so that I could fit it through my door down in my basement that it would talk just a little bit longer. [redacted] said at that point if I could get by without have detachable antlers that she could guarantee it back by Christmas 2014. But I explained to her I had to have detachable antlers to make it fit into my house. So the end of January and no call for pickup and it is now March 2015, nearly 1.5 years after I first droped it off and a year past her first commettment of completion and I have still had no idea when this will be completed.Desired Settlement: My desired outcome would be for the completion of the elk mount, in excellent condition within two weeks. If this can't not be accomplished then I want my cape, antlers and $1000 cash deposit back so I can take to another taxidermist.

Response:

Per customer request, we returned elk cape, elk antlers and $1000 deposit in fullThanks[redacted]Ww custom Taxidermy[redacted]

Save your money and go elsewhere. It took eighteen months for me to get my mount back after I was told it would be six to eight months. They will not answer their phone or return phone messages. Work done was acceptable, but time delay was well past ridiculous.

Review: On November 9, 2013, I brought in a whitetail deer to have shoulder mounted. I was told it could take up to a year.

I called WW Custom Taxidermy in November of 2014 to inquire on the progress of my mount. I received no return phone call. I called again on March 2, 2015 and received a return call stating that the deer would be finished in April 2015. I called on April 23, 2015 and again on April 30 and I left a message both times. I did not receive a return phone call.Desired Settlement: I would like to know the stutus of my deer mount and when it will be ready for pick up.

Review: I dropped off my father's largest whitetail buck harvest on 11/20/2012 and have not heard anything regarding the progress or how it is coming. I was able to leave a voicemail for the owner on 11/2013 and she did call me back stating that she had a work accident which caused her a lot of pain and delayed any of her work by 6 months. I have tried countless times to contact her. I've left voicemails and emails and no response. I've even tried to stop by the address listed and it does not look like she is operating out of that location.Desired Settlement: I would like for her to finish what the contract states within 6 months of this request.
