W&W logging Reviews (1)

Review: I asked [redacted] for an estimate to log some trees off my 5 acre lot. The trees were looked at on approx. Sat. May 5th, 2012, and no estimate was provided. I was told a co-worker, [redacted], needed to return with him to help with the estimate. [redacted] also purchased a chain saw from me that day with delivery upon payment. I asked when I was going to hear from him again. He said "a WEEK". The next Sat. I was told "[redacted]" had a wedding. I asked if he still wanted the chain saw and he said yes, but ... now it was his girlfriend's birthday and he had to save for THAT. [redacted] returned to my property Sat. May 26th WITHOUT [redacted] and started telling me he didn't want the job. I asked WHY he was there then ? He changed his mind and gave me a dollar estimate but when I asked when he would do the job, he refused to make a committment on an approx. start date. He said he had 4 jobs to do before mine and they would take a month. He still didn't have the money to pay for the chain saw he purchased either. I texted him today, Thurs. June 7th, 2012 and he still had no idea when he would start on my job, telling me that's the way the business goes.Desired Settlement: Do the job as promised/estimated in a reasonable amount of time, by the end of this month of June, and pay me for the chain saw he purchased also.

To Whom It May Concern;

In regards to the complaint The Revdex.com received on 6/7/12 at 4:36pm. As you know a so called [redacted] contacted me through a “friend," of his which so happens to be my “friend," also [redacted] distant neighbor. I did as he said. I gave him an estimate on his 5 acre lot the first time I arrived on Mr. [redacted] property I did not give an estimate because the trees he had weren't of purchase quality. I could tell this [redacted] was hard up for cash.

So I told him I could buy the trees for my own personal use and as a no profit job it would be much less then he had expected. needless to say because the tree wouldn't have even been scaled in a log yard. more or less no log buyer would even care to look into buying the trees such young growth.

I do not have Mr. [redacted] chainsaw, in this letter I received he makes it seem as if I have the saw and he is waiting upon a payment that is not the case I do not have the saw and I will not be purchasing this saw. The saw is of no use to me I have seven of my own purchased from an authorized [redacted] chainsaw dealer, I was only trying to help out a new friend in times of struggle with today's economic recession.

There were no contracts assigned to this particular job and there will be no contracts assigned At this point in time. Therefore I am very sorry to say but there will be no further business done between Mr. [redacted] and myself. I am very upset that this has even happened I have never had a complaint before all I have ever heard from my customers is how well done a job is. I am very busy with jobs that bring

in an income and it was I that was foolish to get tied into this problem. Maybe if he had given me more time we could have been great friends and done a great deal of business together. Thank you for you're time.

Response:

This has gotten to the point of ridiculousness. My next door neighbor [redacted] and friend of 32 years is whom 25 year old ? [redacted] originally speaks of as a reference. My neighbor is not "distant" to me by any means whatsoever.

I was in the process of selling my property, trees if possible and equipment associated with it, as it had outlived it's usefullness. These were Normal business transactions. References to my financial status are absurd.

This next statement of [redacted] doesn't make any sense whatsoever. --- "I did as he said. I gave him an estimate on his 5 acre lot the first time I arrived on Mr. [redacted] property I did not give an estimate because the trees he had weren't of purchase quality." --- [redacted] seems to be confused. On his first visit to my property, [redacted] didn't give me an estimate, telling me would have to confer with a business associate of his and would let me know when he did. Apparently that was totally forgotten by [redacted]. This was witnessed by my next door neighbor who had accompanied us. When asked a question, [redacted] would only reply as to the size of the trees and nothing else. A dollar amount was never mentioned.

On that day, [redacted] also made specific purchase offers on a chain saw my son owns, for $360, and two of the neighbors saws for $100 each, but [redacted] --- didn't have the money with him. This was also witnessed by my neighbor. I texted [redacted] about the logging estimate and purchase of the chain saw and he replied on more than one occasion that he still wanted to purchase the saw but couldn't afford it as he had a wedding, then a girlfriend's birthday, but still wanted it and would pay for it when he could. If he didn't want or couldn't afford the chainsaw all he had to do was say so .......

[redacted] returned to my property 3 weeks later for a "final" estimate on the logging. A 120 mi. roundtrip for me. Rather than contacting me on the phone, text, etc., he showed up and said he didn't want the job. I then asked him why he was there or made the appt., he looked around some more, changed his mind and gave me an estimate of $1500.00 as my share of the logging. I asked when he would do it and was basically told I was fifth on his schedule, with him doing one job per week. My oldest son was with me and also witnessed this. It was a "word of mouth" deal. A handshake agreement. No "contracts" were ever signed. If he didn't want the job all he had to do was say so as some other loggers that looked to estimate the job did .......

[redacted] speaks of being "great friends" and doing "a great deal of business together" ??? I had no other business with him planned or was I planning on having a friendship ........ What I wanted was a reputable logger to cut some trees on a 5 acre piece of property and pay me for a chainsaw he said he wanted to purchase.

As far as no complaints lodged against [redacted], unbeknownst to me at the time, [redacted] had logged a different neighbors property leaving the tree tops to be taken care of at a later date. They weren't taken care of after repeated calls to [redacted] and somebody eventually stole them. The police were called and they wound up investigating --- implying innocent neighbors that burned firewood might be the cause of the theft. Nobody appreciated THAT.

As far as I know, [redacted] won't be working in that neighborhood anymore ....... He can't finish what he starts.
