Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh Downtown Reviews (4)

My My wife and I ended-up staying at this hotel for about two months (October - December}, with a few weekends in between. We came to Pittsburgh because of my wife's job, and booked this hotel because it is located near my wife's office. It had been our experience in the past, having spent months at a time at other hotels around the country, that the longer we stayed the more perks we got. Here, it is the complete opposite. The longer we stayed, the ruder the front desk people got - not all of them - and I will name names. They clearly do not appreciate guests who stay longer than a night or two. Let's start with their "guest services manager," Rosie F [redacted] . My wife and I were re-checking in and were trying to get one of the bigger rooms - the same type of room we continuously stayed in for months. This Rosie character gave us a hard time previously, so I tried to complain to the GM, Scott M***, but to this day he has not returned my call. Specifically, she wanted us to pay additional $50 for what she called an "upgrade," although we stayed in the same type of room for almost two months by that time. At one point, they had a situation w/ hot water - they had to turn it off for 3-6 hours a day for 3 days. Needless to say, I was not a happy customer, so I spoke with their "director of rooms," Jason C [redacted] , who promised to accommodate us during our nest reservation, and reassured me that Rosie would not be giving me a hard time. To make a long story short, while the hotel was practically empty and did not provide services they advertise (e.g., shuttle to local destinations}, Rosie refused to give us the room Jason promised me and lied, as she did before, that it was "unavailable." I know it was in fact available because their reservations people said so and because the nasty front desk rep asked us to pay an additional fee. All of this we have recorded, and I will ultimately post the recording online, so Rosie can be an internet sensation. To make matters worse, Rosie reached for my wife's phone, either trying to grab it or to cover the lens, because my wife was using her phone to record the spectacle. Of course, recording in a public place is lawful, and there is no expectation of privacy for someone like Rosie to claim. She also called security on us because I take it no one ever explained to her the basic laws in this country. Someone should explain to Rosie that in PA, as in other states, what she did constitutes battery. I may follow-up with the DA's office - my wife has not decided how we should proceed. In any event, Rosie's actions cannot possibly be good for business. After the exchange, we went to [redacted] - a very nice hotel, especially compared to Wyndham.
