Gulf Power uses a Third Party to accept Credit Card payments for electricity utility charges. The Third Power in question is T**. Gulf Power's website reroutes the consumer to T**'s website for payment. For several months, I used T**s CC payment website which would automatically generate the amount due and ask for CC information. Once submitted, the website would show a $0.00 balance and I assumed my duties of utility payment were complete. After four months of this during this current year, I noticed an excessive amount due and investigated. Turned out, that Gulf Power never received any of the payments. T** admitted the error within their program. After explaining the entire issue to Gulf Power, I was told it was still my fault and that I would be charged to turn the service back on. EVEN DURING THIS REVIEW, GULF POWER'S OTHER THIRD PARTY CC COMPANY, B[redacted] M[redacted], HAS FAILED TO TAKE ANOTHER PAYMENT. I should not be charged additional amounts for any service that involves an error within thier company or any company that contract with. The charge is between their companies' agreement. Just because they have a monopoly over a service doesn't give them the right to refuse fair treatment.
