I called to see about getting an estimate for some work. I got a return call to verify some information the following week, but I didn't hear back for over another week. I finally called to find out what was happening and was informed that they didn't do that kind of work. I asked about getting an estimate anyway for what they actually do. I was told that the manager didn't want to waste the man-hours if they weren't going to actually do the job. Isn't that the point of a free estimate? You give your bid, and I make my decision about whether or not I will hire you. I had to call them to find out I was potentially going to waste their time. Do yourself a favor and give your potential non-customer a courtesy call to let them know their job's too small. Don't worry. I won't waste anymore of your man-hours.
