Review: On 28 June 2014, I hired Xtra Clean ([redacted] Ventura, CA 93003; ###-###-####) to clean carpeting in master bedroom, 2 small bedrooms, hallway, and stairs. While they were more than 60 minutes late, the job was completed and I have no complaints.However, the workers plugged 2 large fans, the kind used to dry wet carpeting, on one extension cord into a wall outlet in my bedroom. I did not know about this, but I did notice one worker running in and out. He finally asked me where my circuit breaker was located. I have lived here since 1999 and have never blown a circuit. I showed him the outdoor one and I even removed a collection of china from a cabinet in the kitchen that also had a circuit panel. (This latter panel controls only the appliance in the kitchen.). I also went upstairs and unplugged the extension cord because they were flipping circuit breakers with the offending appliances still plugged in.They were not able to restore electricity in the master bedroom, bathroom, or hallway. My cordless phone was rendered inoperable due to lack of electricity. They offered no help. I did notice that in Terms and Conditions No. 2 of the contract, Service to be provided by trained technicians, who carry comprehensive liability insurance covering material damage and/or personal injury. As it was late on a summer Saturday afternoon, about 5 PM, I knew that it would be difficult to get an electrician. I did call several electricians who quoted at least $150 to simply show up; any further work would be billed accordingly. I call SCE twice trying to get help and it was concluded that the problem was not SCE but mine. I had no electricity on Saturday night. Sunday, I tried calling other electricians but was quoted even higher price for Sunday emergency work. One company quoted $400 but said if I could wait until Monday, they would charge $300. I waited, with another night of no electricity or phone.The electricians, who are members of Revdex.com and have stellar ratings, immediately identified the problem (repaired burnted line do to circuit overload) and immediately fixed it, guaranteeing their work for 1 year.When I called [redacted] at Xtra Clean, she turned quite rude. I emailed her the documents and corresponding letter (I went to UPS Store and tried to fax, without luck). She appears to have called the electrician and, according to him, was equally rude, trying to get him to admit it was my fault, and then hung up on him.Last I heard from Xtra Clean, Sandra wanted to send her own electrician out to check. I questioned the reason the repair was done by a licensed electrician who stands by his work. I have heard nothing since.I am a small business owner myself and I have always worked to rectify every situation, even those not under my control and ones caused by contractors working for me, that customers complain about to more than their satisfaction. I know the value of word of mouth advertising and on-line reviews. I am surprised that Xtra Clean does not understand this basic marketing premise.I would like my $300 reimbursed, as it says on the contract I signed.Desired Settlement: I would like $300 for the electrician bill, as per Xtra Cleaning's Terms and Conditions that states they carry liability insurance.
