From: sam mayberry [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Wednesday, July 02, 9:AM To: Kelly Mace Subject: RE: id [redacted] In respnonse to the stated complaint. The customers wife brought the old part into the parts department, she was instructed by the parts department the only way to get the bolt was to buy the idler assembly, she then ask if anyone would have a bolt out of an old part, one of the technicians was at the parts counter and found a bolt he thought would work and gave it to her at no charge, she left at this point .the next day her husband came back and said someone owed him a idler pulley that we has messed it up,at that point I called the technician to the office and asked him for his side of the story,he said that the idler was damaged due to a nut that had been welded to the back of it which the customer admitted doing, furthermore one of our salesman ask his wife the day before if he could help her and she said she was going to parts to get a bolt that her husband had stripped out.all we did was give him a bolt we did not damage his part [redacted] SERVICE MANAGER

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the responseIf no reason is received your complaint will be closed Administratively Resolved] Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: The business's or service managers version of the situation is not correct First, the situation started when I made a mistake and used the incorrect socket in an attempt to remove the bolt from the belt tensioner This caused me to strip out the HEAD of the bolt, not the bolt or the threads within the belt tensioner mount I then had to weld a nut onto the head of the bolt in order to remove the bolt When I removed the bolt, the threads on the bolt I removed and the threads in the belt tensioner bracket were in perfect condition I visually inspected them before I sent for a bolt I also ran the "OLD" bolt back in and out of the bracket with my fingers smoothly I then put the new belt tensioner I had bought at the auto parts on the bracket with the OLD bolt screwing it in with my fingers When my wife went to the dealership, the OLD bolt was screwed into the bracket finger tight Then when my wife came to the dealership and found out that we could not buy just the bolt, but had to ORDER the bolt and tensioner (complete assembly), she asked if they might have a bolt out of an old one The mechanic that assisted her tried multiple bolts and racheted bolts into the mount with significant force Then told her that he did not have a bolt that would work and sent her on her way The mechanic at the dealership is not being honest with his service manager and I have significant problems with a mechanic that is supposed to be ASE certified and that works at a new car dealership to behave this way To both damage a part which he should have been skilled or qualified to not do in the first place Then to not own up to the mistake Thirdly, I am highly dissapointed that the dealership, both the service manager and the delership manager chose to side with the employee's version of the events and let the mechanic stand there in our meeting and make threats to me for accusing him of damaging the part Regards, [redacted]
