1-21- Johana Diaz I am responding to the complaint submitted to your office on 1-15-16.( Mrs*** drive way) We have responded to Mrs***s request and we returned to her job and removed all excess stone and gravel on the sides of her drive and disposed.( About two shovel
fulls) The reason the gravel is on the sides of her drive is due to us removing the existing drive and placing stone baseBy industry standards we leave inches of stone on each side, wider than the asphalt, to give the asphalt a shoulder to set onThis is a good thingI revisited the site with Mr*** *** on 1-21-and inspected the driveThere was no brown streak visible and no loose dirt or gravel left, and no scratch marks were apparent It is reasonable and customary for there to be some color differences in the asphalt mat and they fade very quickly once traffic is introduced As I have explained to Mrs*** any additional work she wishes to be performed to the edge of her drive needs to be done by a landscaper, and that was not included in our quote, and is not in our scope of work I addressed the delay to Mrs*** and threw in a $water valve cover and installed it at no additional cost to herI did indeed miss the water valve in my original quote and told them the truth of that matterIt was hidden under the grass at the time the estimate was performedWe felt it was a good thing to do showing good faith and good willWe also moved a pallet of brick and stacked neatly behind her houseThat was not included in our quote Mrs*** was never inconvenienced by the delay. I am rejecting this response because:first of all I was moving the bricks myself his men volunteered to help me move them. As for the water main cover one of his employees walked straight to it with taller grass than when he did estimate and said something about going around the water main Since this was not included why did he wait until half of the work was done to tell us it would cost more. he had not responded to our email which was why we contacted you in the start with. I don't understand why we should have to hire someone else to come and clean up their mess not talking about the gravel talking about all the dirt they left in yard. He did send someone out to clean up some loose rocks but failed to let us know they were coming. I happened to be home that day working at home looked out the window they were getting ready to leave went out to talk to them only to find out they could not answer my questions because they were not pavers . when he personally said he had come out to check the work he has not let us know he was coming so we could make arrangement to be here so we could maybe get all of this worked out. As far as the price this is were we made a mistake. At his suggestion we added some work to our original plan we thought this was the only difference in the price so since he had been recommended by a relative of a friend we decided to let him do the work only to find out we would of got more work done and for a better price from the other company we talked to. And based on the way our driveway looked compared to a neighbors who used that company a better job. How long does it take for the brown spots to fade away and do the scrape marks fade away as well.
