Initial Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2016/02/03) */

existing home.
Water was never "pouring" into the house as indicated in the complaint due to anything that I did. The leak that was complained about existed prior to any work I performed. This prior water damage was pointed out by the Berrien County Housing Inspector.
During the construction, he asked me to look at the shingles and he inquired as to what it would cost to replace the entire roof so that the existing shingles would match the sunroom shingles. Because of the low pitch of the original house roof, the newly installed shingles did not solve the leak problem. I was working to find a solution to Ed's problem within the financial constraints that he imposed.
Structural damage existed prior to the work I did in that nothing I did was structural in nature to the existing house. This previous structural damage was also pointed out by the Berrien County Housing Inspector.
Several months after the completion of the work, Ed still owes me over $1200. And yet, I was still continuing to work to find a solution to his leak problem. Just recently, I sent my roofing guy out to investigate the leak. In order to identify the source of the leak, he photographed the area inside the attic. There were no obvious areas of leakage.
Upon receiving the notice that Ed filed a complaint with the Revdex.com, I arranged for a roofing contractor to accompany me out to Ed's house to examine the area where the problem was located and develop a plan of action. When I called Ed to make arrangements, he indicated to me that the repairs had already been taken care of by another contractor and that there was no need for me to come out.

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 10, 2016/02/04) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The response by the Williams Contractor is un true. The city inspector did not come out and inspect the roof work nor tell Williams there was previous leaks. There was no city inspector here. We owe Williams nothing and in fact he owes us for the work he committed to doing that we had to pay others to get done. In addition concerning the roof, we had no leaks until Williams left a gaping hole in the roof causing severe damage to the interior of the home. We then decided that paying Williams to reroof would solve the problem. We paid Williams to reroof. Several other contractors came out and informed us that the work done by Williams would not solve the leak problem. It did not solve the leak problem and yes the water poured into our bedroom, of which we have pictures and video. The leaks and damage occurred in 2015 in August, September, October, and November. Now in February Williams wants to do the fix. He did not answer our numerous calls concerning the leaks asking for him to fix them. Finally we asked another contractor to come out and do the job, months later. The roof is now fixed and the leaks have stopped.
Williams called us on 2/2/2016 and said he was prepared to come out and fix the leak. He acted surprised we had already fixed the problem. However, we feel he ignored our numerous complaints and was aware we used another contractor to fix his created problems. Williams set up a meeting with us for today 2/4/2016 at noon to discuss this matter. Unless Williams resolves this matter to our agreement we expect legal satisfaction through the courts. I will be happy to further report on the results of our meeting today.
