We emailed with the complainant on 12/13/2015. At that time we made it clear that our agent did not have the key in his possession. The key was left on the client’s doorstep after the client shut the door on our agent while the agent was attempting to return it to him.
Our agent believed that the client had seen him leave the key, and therefore knew where it was. We have apologized for the miscommunication on the location of the key, and we do not have it in our possession
There were a number of showings on this property while it was listed with our company. There were also many feedback responses, unfortunately all negative, regarding the cleanliness of the home and the smell of smoke. All the feedback responses were automatically forwarded to the client by our showing scheduling provider. We unfortunately have no control over showing agents from outside our company who schedule an appointment and then do not actually show the home. We initiated the termination of our listing contract with this client prior to the expiration, as our relationship with this client was already strained, and was having a negative impact on our business
Please let me know if you need any further information or elaboration. I chose to leave out of the response the fact that the client did not provide a phone number because he thought his phone was being bugged, thought his HOA was going to kill him, and thought the Jews were ruining the world. We came to feel the client would put us in a difficult spot regarding Fair Housing Laws if we received an offer from the “wrong” buyer, so we chose to terminate our listing
