We hired Yankee Restoration to install a new storm door and replace all the hinges and doorknobs on the interior doors of the house. Rob's crew was very punctual, professional and courteous when they arrived. They adjusted several of the interior doors which were not closing correctly. The finished job looks great, all the doors close and latch completely and the storm door looks great.
While the original time estimate of when Rob was going to start the job slipped a couple of weeks, it was well worth the wait when you see the finished product. We will definitely use Yankee Restoration in the future.

Yankee Restorations was easy to work with and discuss any issues. The finish bathroom came out beautifully.

Rob did a great job for one of my clients when we had a severe time deadline - he did it fast, on budget, and did a great job. Learned about Yankee Restorations from a referral on our town's informal *** group.
Had some cracked and warped clapboards that needed to be removed & replaced. Rob stopped by & carefully examined the project. He made some measurements, and told me about the possible things they might find when they pull-back the clapboards & plywood. .He emailed a clear and concise Quote. After reducing the cost (I'll do the staining), I signed the Quote. Rob's carpenter did the work. As he removed the damaged boards, he discovered massive rot from moisture caused by the home builder not putting proper sheathing over the area. (Plus the North side of the house gets bad weather in winter with drifting snow piled up on along the house. Rob came over and made measurements. He described how they would removed the sill, a window frame, and many studs. Rob sent a new Quote for the much larger job. Most importantly, Rob's calm demeanor & his excellent communication skills helped to minimize my worry & concerns. He described their approach & how they'd minimize any damage to the interior. There was none.

The job's done. Rob found and repaired the phone wiring that was cut. He came back to prime some pine strips along the stone chimney. The new primed clapboards look wonderful, and they're ready to be stained. Complicating the project, they had to remove the Switch-Over box for the whole house generator, and the entry points for the power, cable, and phone. All was fine after these items were re-configured.

Had Yankee do several jobs I'd been waiting to get to
- replaced my bulkhead doors
- rebuilt a couple of steps down to the cellar
- did some cement work on a cellar wall
- fixed a shed door (replaced it with a used metal one when all I was expecting was a piece of plywood or something)
- renailed some exterior vent covers, porch lights, and other minor repairs
- replaced interior doors

First, the work was done on a quick schedule (I'm STILL waiting to hear back from an estimate from another company LOL)
Second, when the work started, it was finished well and quickly. Everything was done at a higher standard than I even expected.
Third, there was one thing I didn't like how it turned out at first, they re-did it without any argument or discussion, and no upcharge.
Finally, the estimate didn't change at all - what he quoted is what I paid.
Honestly, this company is the best of small company America - you just can't get better work at a decent price. They are now my 'go to' guys for anything this old house needs.

If it's quality and dependability that you want from a company that cares if you are happy with the work provided this is the company to hire! They are customer oriented and go above and beyond!

I needed someone right away to repair my back door that had been broken into. Rob was kind enough to come that day after he finished his scheduled job. He installed the door and scheduled me for the finish work within a week. My daughter helped me call many contractors and none were able to fit me in for this emergency but Yankee Restorations. The finish work looks great and was done in one day. It wasn't an easy job, since I have an old house and nothing is square. In fact, he had to build an entire new door frame, since the door I got was not the same size as my old door. I would not hesitate to call this company for future work.

I've used Yankee Restorations on several occasions - exterior deck work, interior painting and most recently installation of flooring and a sump pump in our basement. I find the work that Rob and his team does to be of excellent quality. His team is responsive to questions, works with my schedule and is fairly priced. Rob and his crew have practically remodelled my entire home. Originally hired to replace my old, leaking front door, his expertise, professionalism and work ethic prompted me to also have him completely change the exterior of my home (paint, trim, replace/repair window sills, rotted wood, build-out garage doors, enclose deck with custom-cut lattice, replace small deck), and regrade a half acre backyard filled with sink holes and rocks to a place I am not embarrassed to entertain in anymore.
