Yavapai Plumbing and Heating Reviews (14)

I recently had to have service on my A/C unit Yavapai Plumbing and Heating came out and repaired it at an astronomical cost The technician replaced the capacitor and the cost was $385, replaced the hard start at $and service call of $ Total $ I called the manufacture of the A/C and found that the capacitor is still under warranty and would be paid for if Yavapai would submit a bill I called Yavapai and advised them and they said that they do not honor Warranty for any company except for Bryant and that they will not bill Trane The technician should have advised me of their policy giving me the opportunity to call another service company Yavapai Plumbing will not break down the cost of the parts from the cost of the labor They say it comes as a package This tells me that the parts are nominal and the labor cost is out of alignment with other companies He was here approximate minutes at most

I want to pass along how very pleased I was with the professional service I received from YPH Service Rep James on Friday, February 10th, Not only did he do a great job cleaning out my dryer vent passage way from floor to roof, I received some valuable advice as to when it should be done again and how to better watch for negative signs of wear and tear

Purchased a water heater from the company years ago and when I needed to replace it I called them for a quote, which they providedI thought it was rather high so I found my year old receipt and realized the quote was more than twice as much as before Thinking the quote must have been an error I called them and was told that prices go up Well, I certainly know that and expected to pay more, within reason, but NOT 1/times as much I then called other businesses for quotes and all three of the others were within $of each other and, while all were more than I paid years ago -- which I was fully prepared for, all were within what I considered to be a reasonable increase Prospective buyers, BEWARE, and get several quotes

Rip off tech and company - seniors charged $to remove a x " section of stucco - replace degree PVC piece with a inch extension piece and two 3/inch caps One hour job with half the time turning water on and off No Way use this company

unacceptable.  Their history of any previous contacts we may have had does not apply to the problem I have detailed in my complaint.  I am complaining about the actions and price quotes provided by your Service Tech (Billie) on 12/22/2015 all the rest of the reply does not apply to the issue..  I have Billie's quote for the inspection Reference [redacted] dated 12/22/2015 for $49.95 for what I thought was free.  You also have a copy of my [redacted] receipt which has the date and charge so Yavapai Plumbing & Heating does not need that information again.
My [redacted] Card Number is [redacted] with an exp. date of [redacted]
After Billie completed his 15 minute inspection he said he could not fix my unit because it needed a new circuit board for control and he did not have one.  The cost of a circuit board would be $645.00 and would take a day to obtain.  This did not include the installation cost.  I ask Billie to order the circuit board and was told he required a $200.00 NONREFUNDABLE DEPOSIT to place the order.
I contacted another HVAC Contractor and was told that the circuit board cost $175.00 and that it could be obtained and installed by noon  The service charge was $75.00.
Yavapai Plumbing and Heating's Service Technician Billie, attempting to over-charge me $570.00 for the circuit board and then requiring a $200.00 nonrefundable deposit is poor business practice and is a fraudulent attempt at a RIP OFF for the job.  I think he realized I would not pay the $645.00 after I checked with other contractors and he would put the $200.00 Nonrefundable Deposit in his pocked.
A satisfactory resolution of this issue is for Yavapai Plumbing and Heating to credit my [redacted] Credit Card with $49.95.
Regards,

It has been noted that a dispute summary and notification were issued via [redacted], National on 01/01/2016.
The letter we received from [redacted] services  is a DO NOT ISSUE CREDIT to Mr. [redacted].
Mr. [redacted] has received his credit of $49.95.
Once again, we offer a full 100% buy back guarantee for all of our customers. Which states that if a customer is dissatisfied with our services and we can't make it right, we will refund 100% of the cost of the services that we provided.
The technician that was sent on this call possesses two NATE Certifications and his services are beyond reproach. His customer service over the past 12 years with Yavapai Plumbing & Heating is impeccable. He would never pocket money from a customer, as was suggested.
I have attached the Dispute Summary.

To Whom it concerns, My name is [redacted] I am the Service Operations Manager I spoke with the customer stated in the complaint a few days after the repair was done. She informed me that the technician came and found the problem and fixed it. She explained to me that she...

called the company that installed the equipment for her and they told her that is was under warranty and that Yavapai Plumbing and Heating could warranty the part through Lennox. I informed her that we do not install [redacted] and we do not do warranties for them. I let her know also that I felt she should definetly use her warranty for the repair. I let her know that I would gladly have the technician return when she could get the company that installed the equipment or another [redacted] dealer to come and repair the part. I let her know I would refund 100% of her ticket back and we could remove our part. She then hung the phone up on me. Please contact me with any questions at all [redacted] ###-###-####

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.  I will wait until for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

Regards,

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I should have been advised at the first contact with Yavapai Plumbing & Heating that my [redacted] Furnace & AC would not be covered under the warranty as Yavapai Plumbing and Heating was not a contracted provider for Lennox. Instead I was led to believe that Yavapai Plumbing and Heating could meet my needs. In addition, pulling a part out of a furnace, during the winter is not logical! I would have to wait for a new part to be installed and what do I do for heat in the meantime???? I did hang up the phone, I found the gentleman did not listen to my concern and was rather condescending. It was his employee that advised his company could take of my needs when I signed a 3 year contract for priority service. I am not in this trade and am the consumer- it seems to me Yavapai Plumbing & Heating is skirting their responsibility- their employee (initial contact Plumer) knew quite well I had Lennox.  He never mentioned they could not provide under warranty coverage! This is the concern- all exclusions should be provided in writing, If I knew that under warranty coverage would not be provided then it is up to me to accept, In this case I had no choice. Very disappointed in Yavapai Plumbing & Heating Regards,[redacted]

Hello, this is [redacted] the HVAC Service Operations Manager at Yavapai Plumbing & Heating LLC. We understand the confusion and miscommunication on behalf of Yavapai Plumbing and Heating LLC and Ms. [redacted]. Due to the very difficult processes of manufacturers’ ability to honor their own warranty for non-program contractors we, YPH, have in the past, choose not to warranty other companies work. In light of Ms. [redacted]s situation and our extreme value of all our customers we have come to the conclusion

That the best way to remedy this situation is to offer Ms. [redacted] a full refund of $85.57 for the work performed on 10/15/2013. We would never leave any customer without heat for any amount of time unless it was completely beyond our repair. This was apparently a misunderstanding. We have now changed our policy to include all manufactures warranty for our highly valued maintenance agreement customers. We have insured that this situation will never happen again for customers of Yavapai Plumbing and Heating LLC. I would appreciate it if Ms. [redacted] would contact me directly for a personal apology.

I can be reached directly at ###-###-####. Have a good day and I look forward to speaking with you.

Sincerely,

Review: This company is the only Bryant factory authorized dealer in this area. I have a Bryant unit that was bought and installed by this company even though I am an ex employee. The unit was bought 3 months ago and the first hot spell came I called in for emergency service on equipment that still has a warranty under its parts and labor agreement this company also offers a one year buy back guarantee if they can not resolve issues. The technician on call was told not to come to my house for no reason I am a customer and they are not fulfilling their own laws per say. As I said I was a former employee at the beginning and during install I talked to a manager about the issue for the past months verbal and I was told to do it my self if did not like it.

Review: On 12/22/2015 my Ruud Packaged Heating & Cooling unit would not start the heat cycle and the house temperature at 3:00 am was 62 degrees. Yavapai Plumbing and Heating advertises in the Yellow Pages that they offer "24 HOUR EMERGENCY SERVICE AND NEVER AN OVERTIME CHARGE".

I called them and talked to a plumber who said he would contact their HVAC Service Man and that he would call me back. About 20 minutes (3:30 am) later the HVAC Service Person (Billy) called me and said he would be over in about 20 minutes. He arrived about 30 minutes later and performed a diagnostic check of the HVAC Unit. This took about 30 minutes. He said the Control Board had failed and would have to be replaced.

I asked for an estimate of the work required to replace the circuit board and was told that it would have to be order from the local Ruud Parts supplier at a cost of $645.00 and would take a day. This price did not include the labor to do the replacement.

I wanted to check another HVAC service company and asked Billy to order the board and I would let him know if I wanted it. He said he required a $200.00 deposit before he could order the board and the this amount was non refundable.

The cost of the board and the deposit amount with a non refundable requirement seemed to be a way out of line Rip Off. Told Billy I would let him know if I wanted him to install the control board.

I contacted the local [redacted]. in Prescott Valley. They came over and checked the HVAC unit and Installed a temporary old board to get me some heat in my house. They received and installed a new control board ( while it was raining) at about 12:30 pm. The cost was $75.00 for the service calls (2) and $165.00 for the new control board. About 1/4 the price quoted by Yavapai Plumbing & Heating.

I believe Billy, from Yavapai Plumbing & Heating, knowingly attempted to fraudulently overcharge me to take advantage of my late night emergency heating problem.Desired Settlement: Provide a credit to my [redacted] for the Service Cost of $49.95 .

Yavapai Plumbing & Heating

Review: August 2013 I had issues with our hot water tank. I contacted Yavapai Plumbing & Heating for repairs. That went well. Subsequently I purchased a soft water system and garage insulation. During that visit [redacted], the plumber who installed the soft water system, mentioned that Yavapai Plumbing and Heating could provide yearly maintenance for our AC & furnace. Me [redacted] was well aware our home was only 1.4 months old and therefore under warranty. October 15, 2013 Yavapai Plumbing did service out furnace, and found a capacitor that was below rated manufacture recommendations, that was replaced and the job completed. I was upset, my home was purchased new 5/2013- I contacted the builder- Universal Homes- they advised the furnace and AC were under warranty and that Yavapai Plumbing should have contacted [redacted] for payment for the part. I then contacted Yavapai Plumbing, the receptionist sent my call to "customer service". I was advised, "we are not representatives for [redacted], we would be glad to remove the part" Well by now it is winter & cold. Our home is on the market and at this time, due to close late 2/2014. I am upset by his attitude. Why was I not informed that Yavapai Plumbing/heating did not honor the [redacted] warranty. I find this deceptive and the answer, "we can remove the part" only served to anger me more.Desired Settlement: I request a refund of the price of the part $90.00

I request a letter of apology & that no other person calling in with a concern be dismissed as I was dismissed

I request that their policies be transparent and all advertisement include they only service x brands under warranty

I request all employees receive education regarding what warranties are covered and clearly state this in writing
